  1. if you're not going to take the time to cite your points and provide sources, i'm not going to take the time to post a counter point >.>
  2. looks like a clean job haha I've always wondered what this would be like :P
  3. this happens to me all the time, and it could partially be because you're dehydrated a little, and when you get too hot like when you're in the shower it helps... funny story about getting too...hot... I was dating this girl while this started up and I went to her house, we got a little hot and heavy, and my nose exploded all over my favorite shirt and boxers >.> totally ruined the moment haha
  4. You weren't condescending in anyway fyi, and I agree with a lot of what you said. Except for one point. How is homosexuality in anyway not a choice? Admittedly someone raised by a homosexual parent/couple will be more inclined to it, but is still a choice. From whatever standpoint you look at it from, evolutionist or religious, it still doesn't make sense. From an evolutionist, gay couples can't reproduce, so if it was a gay gene it would more than likely die out. From a religious standpoint, you've probably heard many arguments why it's wrong. But here's another. You were right that sin is a choice, it's a warping of the things God intended for us. And as for the original sin, I think it's more of an ability to rebel against the Law, which is part of free will. And when you do look at a woman lustfully, it is considered the same as sleeping with that woman because in your heart you want to. It's the same with a man, if a man looks at a man and lusts after him, it's the same as him sleeping with him. It's not the act itself it's the intention behind the act. And from a Christian standpoint, even a non-denominational one(which I am too, meaning I take everything I believe directly from the bible and not from what some preacher said) marriage is solely between a man and woman, and it always has been, you can't deviate from that. And it's a sin to lust after someone other than your husband/wife. and as for the Ruth being a lesbian thing, I'll look into that, I have read Ruth as of yet, so I'm not sure. Although I'm not so sure it would matter much, seeing as Sinners run rampant in the bible. King David slept with someone other than his wife, and many other examples are everywhere in the bible. Just cause it's in the bible doesn't mean that God agrees with it.
  5. About the homosexuality thing...It is a sin, it's a warping of the way things God intended. Any urges of homosexuality or anything with anyone is a sin. The problem people have is coming to terms with the fact that they're sinners. Instead people deny some parts of scripture and take others out of context to say that it's okay, which is completely self-refuting.

    Once A Pawn

and they look so....bored, I hate that more than anything a band that just sits there and plays. come on man have some fun, rock out! and btw no one can move like ff5 :P they're just goofy and have a lot of fun and it's awesome haha
  7. and thats the first asian! lol just playing but seriously these are phenomenal :P
  8. Okay I read through the entire article, and I have to say some of his arguments were pretty convincing at first, but were merely just a twisting of words and not understanding what the bible really said. At one point he said the tenth commandment was (paraphrased)"don't cook a goat in it's mothers milk". I looked up the verse he quoted it from, and uh-oh, look who took it out of context. God was speaking of the three festivals to be celebrated every year, here's the verse in context for those who care Exodus 23:14-19 14 "Three times a year you are to celebrate a festival to me. 15 "Celebrate the Feast of Unleavened Bread; for seven days eat bread made without yeast, as I commanded you. Do this at the appointed time in the month of Abib, for in that month you came out of Egypt. "No one is to appear before me empty-handed. 16 "Celebrate the Feast of Harvest with the firstfruits of the crops you sow in your field. "Celebrate the Feast of Ingathering at the end of the year, when you gather in your crops from the field. 17 "Three times a year all the men are to appear before the Sovereign LORD. 18 "Do not offer the blood of a sacrifice to me along with anything containing yeast. "The fat of my festival offerings must not be kept until morning. 19 "Bring the best of the firstfruits of your soil to the house of the LORD your God. "Do not cook a young goat in its mother's milk. Once I read that, I figured that this articles arguments were like every other short sighted atheists. Too lazy to actually think things through thoroughly and instead twist words and take things out of context. Not to say I don't agree with him on some points. I agree, religion can twist people to do horrible atrocious things. But I don't adhere to any religions, I am what some would call a Biblical Christian, and my faith is based on the bible and the bible alone. And as for that monkey thing, thats interesting and I'm not all that surprised they didn't get anything lol and yes these arguments are older than any of us, but there have always been those people who challenged what is accepted by the masses. Unfortunately most of these arguments on both sides have become unbelievably exhausted and most people don't really care enough to think things through.
  9. lol everyone has their thing they can't handle...for me, it's wrist pain. it just kills me, what makes it worse is I'm a bass player...so yeah. And bouwzie, I'm only guessing you're a woman and complaining about the menstrual cycle. here's my little rant about that... We've heard it before so just SHUT UP!! I honestly sympathize with women for having to deal with that, but you've been complaining about it since the dawn of time. We get it, it sucks. Did women ever stop to think that maybe thats how these so called "sexist" roles in society started? Why would the people who have to deal with that be the ones put in a stressful position in society? It is only the right thing to do when they also have to deal with childbirth. So stop complaining, we've heard it before
  10. I remember reading somewhere a mod saying something along the lines of making sure f2p players would be kept from doing the grunt work of the p2p players...like mining ess, thats one of the unspoken reasons of implementing pure ess.
  11. lol yeah honestly if your doing this for bragging rights...it's pointless >.< and it just makes people think you're a bot

    Silly fears

haha true that is not a pretty brittney!! I have an extreme dislike for sanding things down or when people file their nails...that sound makes me want to cringe up and die...but I don't really have any silly fears of anything...
  14. And thats when I told you "expect the best cause I'm everything he's not" You turned to me as you looked me in the eyes you said "thats why I fell for you, I won't ever let you go" (why I won't let you go) And as our hearts grew closer I believed every word you said Now you've betrayed me for the one the one I saved you from Running through the darkness This Rose in my chest must burn And this vibrant red turns black tainted by the lies you live Thats why I fell for you, and why I've let you go The back story....well I helped a friend get over this guy she fell pretty hard for. We got into the habit of talking a lot and we eventually fell for each other. We couldn't date though as I was 18 and she was still a minor, so we just kept it at that, still talked all the time...eventually her parents got sick of it and said we couldn't talk or see each other, and I didn't want to piss them off. I let my feelings die off but I didn't forget what we had, and I thought she'd done the same...and today I saw her and the guy I supposedly help her get over kissing and cuddling in public. I wasn't hurt because I still cared for her, I was hurt cause everything she said was a lie. Every single word. let me know how you like it, and gonna make it into a song with a friend, maybe I'll post that later haha
  15. Holy crap man I would worship him if I was into that kind of thing lol
  16. 50 mill and you say trees are expensive? pshaw stop being so stingent for such a silly proposal. also I thought you had some great idea, but your title is misleading lol
  17. Honestly in the mainstream, almost none of the artists understand true theory, they just go along with what they hear and play by ear. I'll tell you this, I've been in 3 bands, the first one the piano player followed theory rigorously, and never broke any of the rules, saying "this is how it's done", while our actual songwriter and singer knew very little about theory, and mostly cared about rhythm and just whatever sounded good he went with. This cause a lot of problems >.> The second one, the guy knew theory but he wasn't hindered by it and it was a lot of fun playing with him. The last one, this guy knows nothing about theory at all, he just grew up around music and he's a natural too it. Makes it hard to play along cause he plays some intricate things without understanding it and it's beyond me, but it's good to play with someone better than you so you can get better :P Theory isn't essential to songwriting and playing an instrument, but as long as you aren't afraid to push the boundaries, Theory can do nothing but help your understanding of what your doing and makes it much much easier to play with others. I know a little about theory but nothing beyond basics although I'm trying to expand my understanding. As for rhythm theory, I don't count in my head, I get confused and loose the beat. At first I played at the wrong tempo, but I worked hard to fix it, I took a metronome and played simple quarter notes on my bass for like 10 minutes and then changed tempo and now I can just feel it. although I might have trouble with some weirder time sigs, but once I get a feel for a song I can play almost anything. I was never a natural at music but since I've immersed myself in it for the past two years, I'm as good as a natural player if not better because I understand how I got to where I am. And Rangeor, I like your idea for composing a song, mind if I apply it to a song? should be interesting haha I also write lyrics, well more poetry than anything else, and if I happen to write a song that sounds familiar, I'll read through my poetry and see if it fits, and I make any changes I think sound good and it usually works out well haha I'm thinking I should pick up regular guitar so I can better understand chords and then I'll have a better understanding of bass lines and I'll be the best bassist ever :P
  18. I only said I got the impression they were under a different mindset because the people said it themselves in the article >.> And I live in a small town, but I'm still probably not going to confront someone >.< And it's hard to generalize anything in this world, people are just too different >.>
  19. John Entwistle is one of my heroes, cause he was a showman in there early days, but he opted for better playing than throwing stuff around and being big on stage, which I admire. And as for that guy playing that YYZ line, he did really good! looks like he's playing an Ibanez SR506, and I love the SR series, so versatile and they just look sweet
  20. he's talking of a set of armour, not just a single piece
  21. Okay I'm your man for this haha I haven't even been playing a year but I just love it and know more than most bass players you'll meet. You never want to get a "value pack". they're cheap for a reason >.> Ibanez is a very safe brand to buy for a beginner, thinner necks make it easier to adapt your fingers, and it will usually sound great. I started out on an Ibanez GSR100EX which I actually borrowed from a friend. It's cheap, and has a nice clean, punchy tone and if you EQ it right, you can get a nice fatty tone out of it too. When you want to upgrade, I'd suggest a five string, just so you have those few extra lower notes (fyi the strings go BEADG from lowest to highest) but it might take some getting used too, but it shouldn't be that hard. I myself got a Squier Deluxe Active J-bass V 5-string which is a pretty heavy guitar and might break your back if your not careful, and the neck is pretty fat. But you get a really nice tone and it didn't take long for me to stretch my fingers out. I personally want to go back to Ibanez with a SR505but currently can't afford it. as for an Amp thats a toughy. It all depends on the sound you want.If you want something that will be punchy but still resonate which is a good all around tone, This Backline will be perfect. I actually play that amp weekly at a youth group and I can eq it to get any sound I want haha you probably won't need anything more than that. As for the strap you would just have to go into the store and find what you like for yourself. Also if you're going to get any kind of cable, make sure it's a Monster bass cable. They're more expensive but when they short out, they'll send you another one free of charge! Also you could forgo the Amp altogether and to just practice at home without having to plug in and get an Acoustic Bass. I did and I love it, although I opted for the Dean instead of the Ibanez, and the electronics are horrible, so if you want an acoustic bass, this is your best bet. My friend got one and it sounds great plugged in also :P And if you ever have a question, or just want some tips on playing, PM me. I'll also be trying to hook up some online bass lessons through youtube or something, so I'll let you in on that too :P
  22. Glad to see I'm not the only one who felt that way haha They two completely different instruments and should be played differently >.> But only one or two Les Claypool mentions? really? He's so....weird and awesome haha I love it. How bout some less technical or funky and some simple guys with some style? One of my favorite bass lines is Death Cab's I Will Possess Your Heart, simple but awesome haha
  23. she's a natural beauty for sure, but that picture is a little over worked >.>
  24. From reading the article I was under the impression the neighbors had the mindset "must be a drunken brawl or a lovers quarrel, nothing to get involved in" And people are cowards, you can't get around that. When it comes to a "fight or flight" situation, humans are more likely to just run for their lives, which is understandable. I'd have called the cops probably, but I know I would never have gone in to investigate myself, I'm 6'5" and weigh a measly 170 lbs. and I'm a pacifist at heart, so I'm not a fighter... And honestly it's the right way to do things. When we get into big civilizations we put a few select people in charge to protect us.
  25. I honestly find most of this crap thats going in the world hopeless political crap. Any kind of extremism is wrong, no matter what the subject is. Especially Christianity as a religion (although I disagree with the religion bit) in an extremist way is wrong, and their own scripture advises against it, saying "all things in moderation", So anybody who professes to be Christian but is an extremist, you know they don't understand what they're doing. And as for all this Middle East stuff...I was too young to understand the importance of it when it was really televised here in America, and now I'm afraid I can't make head or tail of it >.> sidenote, if any one would like to PM me an unbiased history of Islam, I'd be very much appreciative :P
