Why do people insist on calling executing a convicted prisoner that did something to warrant the death penalty murder? An execution is not murder. 1. It is lawful. 2. It is not done out of malice. People basically live under a contract that says behave by the law. When you break that law you forfeit rights you had and must face predetermined penalties for your actions. That is something everyone knows and understands. When a person murders another person they know they have voluntarily placed themselves in a position where if caught they will face the penalties to the law. It is the murderer that is responsible for his/her own death by execution because they made that choice when they chose to violate the contract we all live under called the law.

Well I was just mowing the yard and ran over a yellow jacket nest with the lawnmower. Got away with only getting stung once in the achilles tendon. Those little buggers hurt. In a way I'm glad it happened because after I did my mad dash to safety to outrun the yellow jackets and iced my sting I walked back out to look where the nest was and found not 1 but 2 nests with one being in a section of the yard I had not mowed yet. That would have been a major bummer to hit two nests in the same yard cutting.

According to what you are saying 1. Eternal life is lived in the form of your soul. 2. Jesus dying enabled us to have eternal life. So wouldn't the logical jump here be that Jesus dying enabled us to have souls according to what you believe? Otherwise you believe souls die so does that mean I could get run over by an angel bus in heaven and have my soul killed? :P For real though do you believe a soul is a physical part of our body or a spiritual side of our body?

Most Iranians I have met were nice decent people but their government is pretty extreme... Iran has funded terrorist training camps for years. Spiders didn't creep me out until I saw what happened to people that were bitten by brown recluses which are a species that lives in the area I am from. If someone has proven to themselves they feel like they have the correct position hundreds or even thousands of times over the years of their life then why do you feel the burden of questioning should always be upon them? At what point do you feel a person can quit questioning something? Should this questioning of everything go into every area of their life?

One BIG thing to remember if you are going to eat tons of fiber is make sure to drink a lot of water. If you don't all that fiber will make your poo turn into a brick. Not fun my friend... not fun... If you get enough fiber and water then everything is smooooooth sailing. 8-)

Agunimon, I am on your side in that I don't think it is possible to say we *know* definitively what is happening right now. You don't help that case when you ask for it to be shown that humans are adding CO2 to our atmosphere. You can calculate how much CO2 humans have added to the atmosphere merely by calculating how much CO2 is produced in the combustion process from all the fossil fuels that have been burned. The question is not if humans have put CO2 into the atmosphere but rather what is the impact of that CO2 and is it the culprit or rather something to do with energy output of the sun, absorption rate of the Earth due to cloud cover or any combination of many factors which might include human CO2 output.

So what caused the "Medieval Warm Period?" No need to be so rude to him just because you disagree... Besides... you might want to check the units and range of the Y axis of that graph you blast him so badly or before you insult him like that.

Eh, Satenza has been fine the past few pages which is as much of the thread as I remember now. I actually agreed with him about the it is kinda corny to enter a debate but then immediately pull out. Statements like these are the ones I find irritating. All this hate against Christianity yet silence over fascism and communism which easily dwarf the kill totals of any other political or religious groups during the 20th century. It is quite simple. You hate every form of religion and you don't think twice about insulting anyone that believes in a religion of any sort yet you stay silent on issues like mass non religious government sanctioned genocides. Actually from what I read it sounded like he was saying love is a choice for everyone and that many people get love and lust confused. How is that insulting? He was applying it to everyone. That is why he made the comment about how many people you hear say "we fell out of love." Every marriage comes to a point where the man and woman get irritated with each other and they just don't want to be around that person. Then they either get divorced(which is what most people choose now) or make the choice to continue loving each other even if they don't want to at the moment(which is what all those old happy couples did that can't live without each other).

It's a fairly convincing article and well worth the read. Oh - as a side note: according to this paper, we should be heading into a global cooling trend beginning in 2010. My personal opinion is that no one knows exactly what is going on. Anyone that tells me they know conclusively one way or another what is happening in the topic of global warming is full of it. There is still a ton of work to be done in the scientific study of weather and environment.

Sorry bout that. I understand and agree with the point you are trying to make but it wasn't clarified that the statement being made only applied to *some* people that claimed to be Christians.It was clearly stated "he'll be able to see through your cowardly hedge-betting." That is why it is a personal attack.
