:: ZMI RuneCrafting Guide ::
OK, I have a lot of suggestions: * first of all, there is an easy way to make you layout better. Use this code for the hides: [hide=(title here)] (text here) [list][/hide][/list] *Also, don't put your introduction in a hide. * For the inventory, include spottier cape and monk robes. You might also add some headgear that protects you from the npcs. * Add that at a higher level, you don't have to bring the laws and astral, because you'll make them yourself. * Why waste runes teleporting to Lunar island? Just tele to Ourania and bank at the banker at the bottom of the stairs. You'll have to bring a lot of fire runes, so banking won't costs you that much. * If people don't have Lunar magic, this altar has no use for them (they should try Abyss instead). The whole point of using this is because it's fast. If they do want to use it without Lunar, make them bring glories: after the crafting, tele to edgy and bank there, then walk east to GE (don't enter main area, because you'll have a familiar) and use the Spirit Tree to tele to Khazard. (You should read the "Mega Runecrafting Guide 3" on the RSOF, written by Zarfot. This guide is incredibly good and focused on getting as much exp/hour as possible.)

Redid inventory pictures. As you'll notice, there aren't any baskets left in any of them, that's because you can note the fruit. I might merge some subparts together, to decrease the amount of bankings needed, but I won't do that today. As always: post/pm any typos you might find. Eternal glory awaits you in the "Special thanks"-section.

Advanced Farming Route
OK, I made a LOT of little changes to the guide, including a much needed update of the bucket system (to keep same mount of buckets in Leprechaun); it's much simpler now. However, I haven't tested it yet, so it might be wrong .... I'll also try to make some new inventory pics this week, but I can't promise anything. As always, if you find any typos, please tell me, so I can correct them. I need people to check if it's possible to do complete runs without familiars for extra space, knowing you can now note all your plants with the Leprechaun.

Advanced Farming Route
Update!!! (aka time to check the new parts for typos ;) ) I added the Daily Distractions and Diversions section, to sum up all the things you can/should only do once a day. I've also added Spirit Tree patch locations (but who cares anyway?). But most importantly: I read that it's possible to note your Farming products by using them on a Leprechaun!!! This makes Farming watermelons a heck of a lot easier. I'll add it and edit the guide as soon as I can get confirmation of this. [Confirmed, I'll update the guide]

Thanks for the upload. But are there any specific parts you added/deleted/update? If yes, please tell me which, so I can adjust my guide too. I'm always looking to improve the guide if possible.

Well, for uploading, I suggest either Rapidshare.com/.de or Megaupload.com (I can't download from Rapidshare.com from my dorm though). Or you could also use some private web space; you usually get some with an Internet connection (call your ISP for info on this). Alternately, you could copy it into a 'hide', so you won't need to upload anything. Here's the code needed: [hide=Dr_Dismay's Guide] // paste code here [list][/hide][/list] Also, if you could compare your guide with my version and post a list of changes; that would be really helpful to update the guide.

Items with a lower GE value than Low Alch value?
Then why would they give us something so useless???

Items with a lower GE value than Low Alch value?
Everyday you get a bout 30 free low alchs (you won't need nats) with the Explorer Ring 3. So: Are there any items that sell for less than their Low Alch value?

How Much is Your Account Worth to You?
Hmm let's see: 1890 total level (lowest level 65 Construction) Questcape All achievement diaries (even seers  ) about 50 mill in items 10 mill in cash House worth about 5 mill (Yeah I got a pretty good house =) ) 2 Mill in Kingdom Management Getting it all back in case I got banned would probably take 5 months non-stop playing. 5 months = 5*30 days = 150 days = 150*24 hours = 3600 hours at 5 an hour, that's 18000. Damn, I don't even have that much money ... (Let's hope I don't get hacked?)

Please feel free to post them. Any suggestions are welcome. Thanks, I've corrected it. Also, posting the amount of experience isn't really relevant, knowing it depends on the type of plants you use, chance (some crops die) and your Farming level (some plants need a rather high level to be able to use them; like calquat). There are just too many different possibilities. You'll just have to keep doing it until you reach your desired level...

Advanced Farming Route
Thanks, I put a lot of time in making it (obviously). Well, I stand corrected: you shouldn't have to withdraw a supercompost at Entrana, if you do so at the spirit tree. I try to keep my time on Entrana as short as possible, because I drop a Terrorbird pouch and some scrolls before going there (Summoning items aren't allowed on the island), so I prefer to withdraw a supercompost at the spirit tree in Port Sarim. It won't change much, but if you do withdraw the compost at Entrana, it will slightly increase the chance of your pouch/scrolls disappearing or being picked up by someone else. Normally, if you follow my guide word by word, your amount of supercomposts and buckets at the leprechaun should remain the same (change the amount to withdraw/deposit depending on which crops you (don't) grow)). If it doesn't, simply chose an amount of composts and buckets and make sure that after every run, you have that amount in the leprechaun... Furthermore, I thought of an idea, but I simply don't have the time to update the guide: If you bring an upgraded broom from the new quest (with Maggy the witch), you can save a glory charge, by operating it and teleporting to the minigame southeast of Alkahrid (?spelling)... Also, seeing I'm in university now, I can't make a lot of adjustments to the guide, if you do have possible improvements, post them and I'll add a section for it.

The problems with the economy
I agree that there's something wrong with the GE (why else would I have made this thread?), but I doubt we agree on what is problem really is. If you ask me, the GE is just too free to work properly. Runescape isn't a game about buying and selling stuff; it's about doing quests, playing minigames, training skills or just plain having fun. The liberal GE creates possibilities for people to rip other people off... This is unfair and unacceptable if you are trying to make an honest game. This is NOTHING like removing wild! If they would alter the GE in the way I propose, it wouldn't ruin a game feature (you would still be able to buy items ...) let alone remove it (that would be more like removing trade completely ...). No one really play Runescape for the buying and the selling; and if they do, they are sad ... really really sad ... If you take joy in ripping people off, you clearly don't get the point of the game. Also, limits are sometimes good; they can be compared to the laws you have in your country. Would you really be happy it all those limits would go away? That usually leads to anarchy and chaos. Your "leave it as it is" comment just shows that you are afraid of change. Afraid that other things will happen that you don't want. But remember that the game gets updates several times a month and that eventually they will change the GE too; it's just a matter of time. Just embrace the fact that it will and try to help improve it, instead of hoping the updates will stay away. This will be my last post on this thread and perhaps even this forum for a long time, because university just doesn't leave much time for debating on Runescape issues. Please don't reply anymore ... (I'll just delete the mail anyway)

F2P Str ammy vs Power Ammy (see bottom of page 3)
I know that furies aren't F2P. People tend to choose strength ammy over power ammy in F2P, because it has a higher strength bonus. But if I gave you the choice between a fury and a strength ammy, most people would chose the extra accuracy (even though fury has a lower strength bonus than strength ammy). Sure, a strength ammy will occasionally make you hit higher, but a power ammy, with it's increased accuracy, will make you hit more overall, just like a fury would.

Longsword Versus Scimitar
Normally, using focused or controlled training is a matter of personal preference: they both give the same amount of experience and they both add the same amount of bonuses. However, when using protection prayers, it's better not to use controlled, because your +1 defense will go to waste. In those cases, it's better to use either attack or strength focus.

Tip.It Times Presents: The Plight of the Safe Spot
Here's a little guide to find safespots: [hide=Safespotting guide]For all monsters: - Stand north/south of an obstacle (which you can range over), while the monster stands to the west/east of it. - Stand across from an obstacle (this one is kind of obvious). - Use the tag method described in the article, if you know where the wandering limit of that monster is. Extra methods for monsters larger than 1 square: - Stand in places the monster can't go (narrow passages). - Stand on the southwest/northwest of an obstacle (you don't have to be able to range over it), with the monster standing north/south of it. (Picture) - Stand southwest/southeast of an obstacle (you don't have to be able to range over it), with the monster standing east/west of it. (Picture) Ps: You can only use this on melee monsters (duh). [/hide] Hope this helps ...

The problems with the economy
Though luck? You'll have to spread your sales over a couple of weeks in order to get your 200 whips... Junk trading: selling an underpriced item with a lot of overpriced items in 1 trade My example: Because it's not in the same trade, you shouldn't see it as junk trading, but more like trading and transferring money afterwards... Scamming can go both ways... The seller could log after selling his junk. I wasn't thinking in economics; I was speaking in general. The data I was referring to is a list of all the sales regarding a certain item. Not true. Here's a guide to RWT I made up which need only a limited amount of junk: - First, you find an item that will supposedly sell at lowest price and that has a price which is a multiple of 20. Best chance you'll have is search for Summoning scrolls. - Then you buy a lot of these scrolls at lowest price in GE (the lowest price being 0.95*X, with X as market price) - You sell the scrolls to someone who stands next to you, for the market price (X). You gain 0.05*X gp (may seem small, but this could be done really fast). - The person who bought the junk sell it back to GE for lowest price. Each time you do this, the money you invest gets multiplied by 1.05 (you win 5%). Because all scrolls are put back into GE, you can do this forever (until the person buying the junk in trades runs out of money)... I made up that price ... When Fist of Guthix came out, someone bought up all the Ahrim robe bottoms and sold them way overpriced on the forums! Prices went up a lot; and that's from 1 person!

The problems with the economy
You are all so focused on the economy we have now! Try thinking outside the box: who says that prices have to go up and down every day? Don't forget that if you look at the big picture, Jagex usually takes pretty good decisions. Depending on their use, price and popularity... Also, they could temporarily apply it on certain items that have a high probability of being abused (ahrims when PvP worlds come out). That isn't junk trading anymore: it's trading fairly and then transferring money to another account (just like RWTing)... If you find a solution to RWT, you'll find a solution to this too. Don't forget that most people would simply buy the mask and log out, leaving the seller without his extra cash. Or, if the junk gets sold first, the mask will not get sold. Do you think drunk driving is a problem? Driving while drunk in itself isn't really, but doing it usually leads to accidents and those are a big problem. Therefore: something that inevitably leads to a problem is a problem itself! Same could be said for junk trading: it's bypassing the trade limit and will lead to RWting. RWTing is a problem ... (you said so yourself) If we stop now, all the things we've given up will be for nothing. If there's a way to abuse a system, sooner or later, there will be people will abuse it; that's simply how people work... Ask yourself that question when you will only be able to buy Ahrim of the forums for 5 mill... The fact that you have to couch up more money isn't even the biggest downside; if they understand they can make big bugs out of this, they will continue to use it (because it works) and more items will become extremely expensive. Like a big snowball rolling down a hill, more and more will items become horribly overpriced... You have to stop problems BEFORE they can do any big damage. Everything can be explained (in theory), some things are just too complex. If you look at the GE trades you can easily see why it went up/down (but we simply cant access that data). Not if we make it impossible ... The sentence "anything is possible as long as you want it enough" is just a load of [fertilizer].

Longsword Versus Scimitar
What are we talking about here? About which weapon does more damage? There is a simple way to verify this: kill one kind of monster during a hour with each weapon (use the same stats and pots) and compare the exp values. I think this will vary from monster to monster: monsters with higher defense are more easily defeated with a longsword, as it's more accurate. Monsters with lower defense on the other hand will be killed more quickly with a scimitar. This is just my guess. If you really care that much: try it out ...

The problems with the economy
If you could only trade 1 kind of item at a time, wouldn't that solve it? If it wasn't possible to offer a mask and junk in the same trade, the problem would be solved. If you can find a empty BH world and bring enough RWTers, you can have the crater to yourself (you need 10 people to be able to enter). Also, if they only bring a fury, they can protect item and it's completely safe for them. If you buy at low and sell at middle price in normal trade, you can easily transfer money (pm me if you want me to explain further). How about making the market non-player controlled. That would certainly solve it (a little extreme though). Or how about limiting th amount of items someone can buy from the Ge in a day (who needs 150 tassets anyway)?

100% f2p - an achievement?
If you manage to pass an exam, with both arms tied to your back, is that an achievement? Personally, it's all personal opinion (i think the person who did the exam would think so). Most F2Pers will say it is, most P2Pers say it isn't (they passed the same exam after all) ...
