  1. i found that the best place for collecting feathers, other than buying from fishing stores, is the group of chickens in the champions guild. Either range or melee them, they usually respawn faster than you can pick up the feathers.
  2. wow, this one of the only articles that i could COMPLETELY relate to in every way:wall: ! Every single thing that the author had said, I had experienced. I know that after i get my quest cape, i'll finally be able to refocus my bank on fewer areas, and that should help free up some space. Also, at the rate i'm going, i should be able to complete my lederhosen outfit by next year! Thats another one for the costume room. I really seem to have everything in my bank. I have every rune, ore, log, herb except guam, seeds sweetcorn + and most herb and all tree seeds. And thats just the beginning. I cant decide what to drop for bank space. Toad legs?- no, i need those for gnome restaurant. Ashes?- no, i use those for herblore when i'm desperate... Whenever a friend asks me if i have something, i do. Unless it's very expensive, or decorative. hmmmm...
  3. Nice accurate guide. There are just a few more details i might add. First of all, it may be useful to say that some herblore seconds (eye of newt, limpwurt root, chocolate dust, wine of zamorak, and ash) can be obtained by f2p players. Zammy wine collecting is one of the best f2p moneymakers out there. Also, you can use serum 207 on the afflicted in morton, and get rewards. The only ones worth keeping are unids (all tarromin), and bronze keys (rare). Lastly, I found the fastest way to obtain swamp tar, and very few people know this. There are tar barrels on the pirate ship from lunar diplomacy, and they all hold random amounts of tar, with a fast respawn rate. The best spot is the 3 barrels close together 1 floor below deck.
  4. Here's a little known fact (i think i discovered it), the fastest place to get swamp tar is the pirate ship from Lunar Diplomacy. Just go down 1 floor and there are 3 tar barrels right near eachother, they respawn faster than the in lumby swamp, and there is multiple tars per barrel. I tried all 3 methods for collecting tar (spawns in swamps, cave slime killing, Lunar diplomacy ship), and this one is BY FAR the fastest, other than buying. Granted, i havent found a use for tar with a red sally, but it is a good way for me to make money \ .
  5. I found it through miniclip (I think thats where noobs come from). 2 or 3 years ago. None of my friends played it, but I did manage to get a few converts since then. I remember that I thought it was pretty cool at first, but i got bored after i beat tutorial island. I guess i took a month off or so then :-w . But i got bored one day and came back. It didnt take long to get me hooked! I guess i spent a few weeks just exploring. I remember i didnt see port sarim for at least 2 weeks, even with the map (couldnt teleport). About this time, i realized that runescape had its own website, and i quit miniclip for good! Luckily, i found tip.it early, and i stuck with it the whole time.
  6. I think thieving [cowbells] from milk cows is hilarious. And if you fail, the cow gets mad and yells "moo!!" at you. Its funny to watch for some reason. Also, in the agility arena, when you dodge darts, you do that Neo maneuver from "The Matrix". Very cool.
  7. It obviously worked for you, but there are numerous other ways to level up mage, especially if you want to keep getting HP points! I'm a lvl 69 mage right now, nothing compared to you, but i've tried lots of methods just for fun, and this is how i managed to get to where i am. First i used strike spells. I cant remember what i used them on, but once i got fire strikes, i mostly trained on that lesser in draynor wizards tower. Then while i was training mining in the guild, I saw someone superheating their mith for cash/exp. He suggested that i curse until lvl 43 for superheating. Note that the best monster to curse is the zammy monk trapped behind the stairs in varrok castle, because he has very high mage defense, and recovers from curse in about 3 seconds even if you hit. I superheated about 1000 mith ores, then I telegrabbed 1000 Zammy wines. This took me a very long time, but i made 2 mil from it. This was very good money for me on f2p. Plus it got me more than far enough to high alch. Soon after that, i became a member. From then to 63 mage, i did it in small increments without actual training. I teleport quite frequently for practical reasons, i enchanted all my jewelry, i high alched things that werent worth selling (i find lots from time to time). And then i "found" the mage training arena, where i got bones to peaches in about a day. It got me all the way to 69 mage very fast. I've also tried enchaning air orbs, with some success. Thats good for crafting exp though, as well as cash. I plan on using magic dart at barrows once i get 55 slayer (53 at the time of this post) Also, in theory, the fastest way to train mage, other than ice barraging, is the lunar spell: string amulet. It only gives 44 or so exp per set of runes, but it casts itself very fast until your entire inventory is strung, so its fast exp, at a high price. Note that i havent tried this, and i might be dead wrong about it.
  8. My #1 click and forget: rebuilding the temple in morton. You get plenty of crafting exp, and once you set it up, you can keep it going for about an hour! No dangers at all, except random events. The shades also auto attack you if your combat is 80 or below.
  9. Some people claim that mining should be hard, because we really really need a hard skill... a skill to work for that few people bother to level up. But mining SHOULDN'T be that skill. Consider this: Mining is one of the most useful skills in the game. It supports all smithing, runecrafting, and some of the crafting skill. You get enen less smithing exp out of an ore than mining exp! For runecrafting, you get double, at most of the mining exp from mining the ess, but few self-respecting players mine pure ess for mining exp. Now, i don't think that miners should be wasting even more exp on granite, but they should be able to collect high level ores much faster at a higher level and therefore get faster exp! We need a skill that is harder to level. Maybe it could have been hunter, a skill with few uses, but it's too late for that.
  10. thanks for this guide :P i was trying to do this but i remembered the guide half way through! Time to get some onyx now.
  11. also, have you tried "kingdom managing" as a way of obtaining tree seeds? The tree seeds obtained from harvesting maples there are about 1000 times easier to get than by cutting the trees yourself. I never need to actually buy tree seeds because of this. In case you didnt know, in order to get these rewards, you must complete "throne of miscellania" quest. Royal trouble is also highly recommended. you can also get herb seeds by harvesting flax.
  12. If I follow what your saying right...that is terrible advice. You wait for the ore to respawn? I could understand that if you were doing high alchemy or something but if your mining for profit, 100% of rune miners switch worlds to find spawns. You dont want to wear a full prayer set because the boots, gloves, and capes dont give high enough prayer bonuses to make a difference. The more items you were on you the less ores you can carry each trip. Great guide. Thanks for sharing your secret. By keeping a scratch pad with respawn times, I can mine 100 ores at Heroes in about 4 hrs. The second 100 would take less time since I've already found the spawns, but I've never been able to take the concentration needed for longer than that. :P This method seems like it would be a whole lot less stressful, unless of course it also becomes packed with miners. One thing I don't understand. Why does wearing more prayer armor (and carrying a d mace, for example) mean less ores? Is there a weight limit in RS that I'm not aware of? If so, what is it? Thanks again for the great advice. I'll be trying it myself with teletabs. Because of the full mourners suit. You have to take it with you in order to get to the rock. The more prayer Items you take, more clothing items you have to carry in your inventory. Thats why its good to prioritize what to take. Is it good to take a pair of gloves that only give a +1 or +2 prayer bonus while you could actually hold another ore in that spot? Its only necessary to take the key items. What if you took a few caged imps to send the mourners outfit to your bank? Would the prayer bonus be worth it then? You could even bring enough imps for extra rune ores. Then you would be staying longer and probably need your prayer to last longer.
  13. chaos druids don't drop snapdragons. They also don't drop toadflax and torstol. The only way to get those herbs is from random events, farming, and some minigames (like herb packs in pest control).
  14. thanks for this guide! Its the best comprehensive farming guide i've ever seen on tip.it! just looking quickly, i'd like to add something. You said that the fruit tree patch outside tree gnome village maze is impractical to use. this is not true. Most people dont realize that once you have started tree gnome village quest you never need to do the maze again. From the inside of the maze, right near the beginning, talk to the gnome who teleports you right outside to 3 steps from the tree patch. The gnome on the outside teleports you back so that you can get back to the spirit tree network. also, i'm one of the few people who dont like wasting my watermelons on supercompost. Its so easy to buy pinapples from ship merchants in catherby and port phasmatys, or from tree gnome village, that i've been using supercompost almost since lvl 1 farming. I generally train on strawberries instead of watermelon also. i know the exp sucks, but they are much cheaper, rarely die with supercompost and being watered once. plus, they free up the flower patch for limpwurt roots. I did the math, and assuming that its impossible to sell watermelons, and you buy the seeds for 2.5k ea, its actually cheaper to train farming with trees! In addition, for tree seeds, mage trees, at 200k are the most cost effective based on money spent per exp because of the money you make back from the roots. Oaks, at 5k ea are the least cost effective.
  15. Yes, theres usually some buyers on the main forums. U can sell for 1k each if you have 100+ wines. The reason they have so much demand is that range pots are the #1 way to train herblore at high lvls. btw, i made over 1M telegrabbing zammy wines.
  16. at boarding school, runescape is blocked, so i can only play for a few hours on weekends. Now that its vacation though, i've been playing nonstop since i got home! I take the occasional break to hang out with some friends (grudginly), but that's it. Is it healthy? No, but after 4 months away from home at a depressing place, i think i deserve it. :anxious:
  17. Nice guide, but you didnt say anything i dont already know. I know i'm a long way from mining runite, but i've known about that spot for a while.
  18. laws are pretty easy to get 300 ea on the forums these days. Anyway, i greatly prefer telegrabbing wines of zamorak on f2p. Its closer to a bank, respawns much faster, isnt in the wildy, and is worth almost as much per grab.
  19. UPDATE: New nature crafting method Required: some work on the Jungle Cleanup minigame, high woodcutting lvl Inventory: same as other method, supstitute hatchet (rune) for pickaxe. Also bring 100+ trading sticks. Just like the other method, you will be using the abyss for fast access. the only difference is, this time, you head north to the Tai Bwo Wannai enclosure to cut teak and mahogany logs. 100 trading sticks are required for entry (obtained from jungle cleanup minigame). These are used in high level construction. As it happens, the abyss is the fastest way to get to tai bwo wannai in the first place, so if you want to cut logs here, this is the best way to do it!
  20. nope, you still need space for water and law runes
  21. i might try this with laws on world 66 fast free laws.
  22. i didnt get any camo events while teleporting. But i did get it once while teleGRABBING at the zammy wine place.
  23. Thanks for the tip about pouches :P . I'm adding it to the guide. Note that this mine isnt really worth using unless you can mine addy. I thought about adding sections on farming, but there dont seem to be any good farming locations near an altar, and besides, farming is so slow that you couldnt visit the patch on most runs to the altar.
  24. thanks, but i was hoping it would help someone. I actually used the methods i posted and they actually helped me. By the time I reached runecrafting lvl 44, i had barely "trained" it.
  25. where has Defender gone? He just left us this amazing guide and disapeared!!! :(
