For at outline of my problem, a story; I have had a laptop, for the last year and after it being a year, I decided to reformat the computer. after reformatting and installing windows (Media Center Edition, 2005) I started it up and no internet. hmmm. After doing this on my other computer a month ago, I had internet and everything. But even after connecting it by wire instead of Wireless, It still did not work. usually when i close the laptop, it automatically goes into hibrinate. Not the case now as i discovered. its still on and its really pissing me off. Even the scroll thing on the side which is on the touch pad wont work now, and That was the last straw. Does anyone have anything to help? Ive gone through my disks and so far i managed to install Dells wireless card thing but it does nothing. :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( I am really regretting this now. :wall:

BTW, New one with an ERASER just came out, Here Its 1.3 instead of Beta, So much better.

Freewebs just doesnt fall into the "good" category, not even for free hosts because they serve spyware banners. Ask around on webhostingtalk rather than take advice from people on here, no offence guys, because then you will get an impartial opinion rather than someone trying to get you to give money to their mate/them/referral program etc. Overselling isnt too big a deal if you only have a small site, people seem to think they "need" 1 gb filespace and 30GB bandwidth but they just will never use that. you mean Spyware where??? I have no adds on my site but the hosting site has adds. You mean the "Freewebs" site right?

Oh, And one last thing, Make sure you keep your windows install disk safe, as if you dont you have to buy a new one likw i am doing right now... :cry:

RS will run fast on any connection because it sends very little data between you and the server. Most other games do a lot more sending and receiving so require a bit more bandwidth. "1% per two seconds" isn't a very usefull number. It could be for a 50kb file, or 2gb, we don't know. Running SpeakEasy's speed test and posting the results for us will tell us more about your internet speed. :P Fast or not, I'd definitely suggest securing your wireless to ensure no neighbors or drive by users are abusing your access point. I ment that for Starcraft. When you dl a map, a little number appears and you download the map. However, if you move slow, like my connection... then you usally get kicked since no one wants a lagger even though i dont lag once in game. Edit, Did that test on my labtop, which uses the wireless internet, and got the following; 0 download speed (I think zone alarm, but It never came up.) 52/48 Upload speed (this is in kbps) I will test my Non-Zone Alarm computer in a moment. The Non Zone alarm computer is the Main one, A desktop, and is connected directly to the internet. Its also Got the game (starcraft, COD, Etc...) Results in a bit.

This is my problem, Runescape works fine if course but other low end online games like Soldat or Call od duty: United assault and even Starcraft, Lag VERY BAD ONLINE. For those who've played Starcraft, My DL speed is 1% per two seconds, yet Runescape runs very fast. Currently, Ive got Comcast (I like them...) And a Linksys SRX 200 router. And the Router is wireless, and unsecured. About two or three computers might be connected or even using the internet while I'm trying to play but even when I am alone with the internet, its still slow. I need help! I must play starcraft!!! This is really getting the better of me.
