Tip.It Times Presents: Anything Goes
I love how this board is directed toward p2pers when the topic is posted on a board meant for a general f2p and p2p population. Aren't there ANY f2pers that object to this obviously flawed article? Anyone at ALL?

Tip.It Times Presents: Anything Goes
I can deal with that because I pwn those people easy, but it is a waste of my time when they decide that they want to fight me. That's annoying and I want them to stop, but I have no means of doing it other than finishing the battle, which profits me nothing. These people who I would normally destroy will yell "haha noob" if I decide to abandon the pointless fight instead. The problem isn't with RuneScape (which is why I still play it), it's with the people who play it. They can be so very STUPID and OBNOXIOUS sometimes. And then there's the problem of f2p players who have no respect for dueling...

Tip.It Times Presents: Anything Goes
Has it ever occurred to you that the reasons people "Edge pk" MIGHT be the 2-boost altar, monks, nearby bank, rune source (abyssal runecrafters who sell their goods), open terrain (few obstacles in level 1-5 wildy as opposed to those in the duel arena, which many people abuse), and lack of restrictions on fighting style (by this I mean the ability to change from mage or melee or range, use potions and whatnot, not using protection prayers or 1-iteming)? I'm sure that many of these people who "don't know how to pk" could school you if they were going to fight you freestyle. Congrats on the 2v1 pk, btw. A further thought on 1-itemers or people who wear cheap items: The reason people get so very annoyed at this is because it is a waste of time to fight an opponent who is not properly armed and who will lose virtually nothing. There is no significant reward for winning the battle and the fight becomes little more than a terrible food-draining annoyance because it is virtually given that the 1-itemer will lose.

Tip.It Times Presents: Anything Goes
Thank you for your suggestion that we use the Duel Arena for "fair fights" and use "teleblock" and "ensnare." I'll be sure to change my strategy the next time I log into a free-to-play world. Please. If someone pilejumps, uses protection prayers (when both players can do it- I sort of agree with your point on this), safes, tag teams, or teleports/runs (from a dm) in f2p wildy in world 3 or related "Duel worlds," I have every right to label them an incompetent n00b. I think it is fairly obvious to anyone with the mental capacity of a chipmunk that many of these players CANNOT fight playing by the (arbitrary but helpful) rules between most standard players so they simply DO NOT (there are exceptions, of course, but these are few). To label me and many others as greedy pigs for asking simply that our opponents put themselves at the same level of risk as we do is utterly narrow-minded and callous. If I wanted to, I could easily do all of these things: I could safe, use protection prayers in duels, pilejump, and tag-team shamelessly, but you know why I don't? It's because I don't need to do that to win. I eat below 40%, I never use protection prayers (which, because of the holy symbol I bring, last far longer than my opponent's anyway), I attack pjers, and I go solo. I believe that it takes a stronger player to win though adhering to a code that makes it easier for them to die. It makes battles more challenging. Most of all, it gives me a sense of satisfaction when I own people who can't play by duel world code but still lose when I DO. You talk about "taking fights to deeper wilderness," which is one thing f2pers CAN do so that their opponent can't teleport or run. Terrific idea. Now my opponent's friends can sit just offscreen until the battle is over, rush right on in, and kill me while I'm deprived of food, strength potion, and possibly prayer (str/att). Brilliant. Someone is going to come along and say "HAY D00M! PAY IF U DUNT LIEK F2P FIETANIG!" Yes, I'm well aware that formal dueling is a luxury that only members get. My point is that we f2pers have no other place to call a Duel Arena, so it's up to us to decide whether or not we want to make formal duels a reality or not through sticking to a "code of honor."

Autoer/macroer discussion- please post here!
Well, I could also report them for real world item selling/trading (most of them are goldfarmers), but unfortunately these transactions cannot be tracked. I propose that JaGeX ban any and all connections from China. Coming through a proxy? Run a trace and if it leads to China, kill it too. Call me racist (or not- I'm actually half-Chinese myself), but I think 99% of legit players are not from that country. Haha, try the USA and England  The Chinese, from what I know, have 1 bot out - that they sell for money...So it's really not even them doing the macroing. Most huge cheaters don't speak Chinese what-so-ever. Either English or Dutch for the most part ;) No, not macroers, goldfarmers. The people who buy the virtual goods they gather are the ones who are truly despicable, yes, but I think the root of goldfarming is squarely in China. I'll have to say you're wrong. I would name a cheating site, but I won't for the sake of breaking the rules... This site has 30,000+ members, and really only for their "black market"... The whole site is in English, and yes, you can tell it wasn't translated. The people selling are generally American or European Macroers based on where they say they are from and their lack of an accent and perfect (or childish) grammar. I still say it is all in America and Europe, people just don't like to think that that's how it is. The Chinese are known as very hard-working, skilled people with long attention spans, which is why they are always blamed, but no, I will have to say that if you face a reality, those "Chinese" names are actually just random typings on an American or European keyboard that come out to look... well... different. Because I'm sure "Shaokaon" is a "random typing," as is "Jiang" or "Xingbingdong" or "Zhongguo." I've spoken to two goldfarmers from China; these both spoke broken English and one freely admitted to being a goldfarmer (for which I did not but should have reported him). I don't care where they're from: They still goldfarm, I still report, and I'm absolutely certain that refusing connections to China would solve a good chunk of the problem. The rest of the macroers and goldfarmers will unfortunately have to be dealt with on a case-by-case basis. Of course, JaGeX won't close connections to China (unprofitable loss of players and some members! also will be seen as racist), so the whole shebang has to be handled on that case-by-case basis when clearly IT IS NOT WORKING.

What's The First Stat You'll Train When/If You Get Members?
Why is Dragon not perfect? It doesn't degrade (Like Crystal). Doesn't have an annoying and quite costly repair price (again...the degrading). Well, I'm not a member, How am I 'sposed to know Crystal Degrades? :ohnoes: Anyway, Lets just stop spamming. Third Age > Dragon Unless you die

Unfortunately, JaGeX's enforcement of rule 7 (No AFK training) was ironically responsible for being unable to kill macroers with monster lures after 10 minutes (monster aggression is turned off.) There was one in a Varrock shop: I killed him by luring a mugger into the shop. Result? I got 400k and 200 death runes. OWNED!

More F2P Bank Space! [BANKSPACE ACHIEVED!]
60 spaces. I have broken it down a couple of pages back. An average mid-to-high-level player (I'm 91) should use about 61 assuming they carry nothing on their person and have NO costume items at all. If they do, there are 52 spaces and enough room for a costume or extra accessories.

Seriously, guys. I do pretty much everything in RS and I've got enough bank space. Is it roomy? No, but it's enough.

More F2P Bank Space! [BANKSPACE ACHIEVED!]
I've counted up how many slots you NEED (in bold in your quote) to play this game robustly and it comes to... drumroll please... 43 I will take the liberty of adding a certain number of spaces to what you have suggested based on my experience as a medium-level (91) free player and what I have observed from others. This addresses the needs of a player using his or her MAIN account. Competent fighters will use fighting boots rather than normal boots. The normal boots should be used by rangers and mages. +1 space. Offensive! A competent f2p fighter will ALWAYS bring a 2hander along with his scimitar! +1 space. Normal boots and rune chain (try pking in f2p wild against a range pure with a rune chain). +2 Saying that some use a longbow to counter lurers would be splitting hairs. I'll give you the benefit of the doubt. +0-1 Training arrows and PK-ing arrows. If you're like me and can afford to train with addy, it's only one space. Most people can't. +0 to -1 Competent mages will use normal leather vambraces and normal boots, assuming they use mage at all (clan trips, pking events; usually not dms and "normal" pking due to the sad state of f2p magic). I assume your 4 spaces are reserved for a mage hat, robe, and bottom, as well as a dragonfire shield. +1 4. Body rune training may require an earth or water staff depending on what runes the player has accumulated. +1. Woodcutters will want a space for their yews and possibly willows if they are training. Firemakers should use the shop near Lumbridge to train firemaking (All the autoers deposit their ill-gotten goods in that shop, leading to stockpiles of thousands of logs in the general stores). +0-1 I'm assuming you're including elementals, deaths, and possibly laws. An avid mage (like myself) and/or craftsman will certainly want cosmics and natures. Body runes are ubiquitous and extremely useful for magic training, so those should be included as well. Chaos and minds? Perhaps not. +3-5 This is right: all that's really necessary is a bank-healer (cheap food for healing away from monastery), a between-battle healer (Anchovy pizza is spectacular), and an in-fight healer (swordfish or lobster, take your pick). +0 Low-level smiths and merchants will have a good stock of coal and iron. Many medium-to-high level miners will have a stock of the highest ore they can mine or smith or even a stock of what's in between. +0-2 This is pretty much right, provided the two spaces are a hammer and steel bars (a mainstay of smiths and merchants). Crafters, however, will want space for gold and silver, as well as the appropriate molds. Advanced smiths may have a stock of the aforementioned steel and/or the most advanced bar they can work with. +0-5 Items Not Included Runecrafting supplies - A person with 22 runecrafting or higher (that's most of us) will need rune essences and an air tiara. Runecrafting your own airs is far more efficient than buying. Besides, who doesn't want a higher runecraft level? Diehard runecrafters will also want an earth tiara and possibly a mind tiara. Very savvy runecrafters may even have spaces reserved for air talismans and tiaras for quick runecrafting training. +2-6 Amulets - You all left this out! +4 (Defence is needed for rune miners like me) Holy Symbol - Possibly the most underrated piece of equipment ever made, the holy symbol greatly prolongs prayer and can be a lifesaver in a deathmatch. +1 Cowhides, leather, and thread: Many f2pers are avid crafters. Most aren't. +0-3 Gems and Chisel - Gems pile up QUICKLY. No matter what you do in f2p Runescape, you will inevitably accumulate gems. Five to nine spaces will be needed for these (as some people cannot cut the gems but are invariably awarded with pre-cut gems as well). To just dispose of them would be a serious waste of crafting xp and/or money. +5 (minimum) Guild items - These are items needed to enter the crafting and cooking guilds (Chef's hat, brown apron). Most people do not use the cooking guild, but many use the crafting guild for mining gold, silver, or clay, raising their crafting level, or getting molds they need to make a certain item. +1-2 Tinderbox - Duh. +1 Security Sceptre - As useless an item as this is to P2Pers, this staff is a very powerful item for f2pers. It takes up one space, is activated in two clicks, and teleports to Barbarian Village, which is as close as you can get to the monastery or Edgeville wth a teleport in free worlds. Another two to three spaces will be needed for the parts to re-assemble it. +1-4 Cape - +1 Adding up the minima of these categories (21) to your proposed grand total and REMOVING the 3 you allocate to clothes and trimmed armor, we reach a grand total of 61. This is leaving out ALL rings, holiday items, costumes, and trimmed armor, and assuming you carry nothing on your person. Assuming you carry equipment enough to fill your equipment slots (which means withdrawing ALL of your arrows, usually a bad idea), that subtracts nine from that total, which leaves us with 52 spaces used. 43 spaces is crazy low (and wrong), but you're right in that we have plenty of bank space, PROVIDED we take a minimum number of spaces needed for general work in all skills. The standard player at my level will probably require higher numbers in the ranges I have provided. Do we have enough bank space? I hate to be the devil's advocate here, but I'd say yes. That said, Jagex provides the bare-bones player roughly 8 spaces for a 20+ range of holiday and random event items. I hardly think it would hurt anything to give us more.

Best F2P HP-training spell?
wow, i didn't know ranged was a magic spell #-o on-topic: i doubt that the spells have different hp-mage ratios unless if they're non-damage spells like curse or hi-alch You might think so if you take a cursory glance, but remember that you get 2 magic xp each point of damage you deal. The max hit of Fire Strike is 8. The xp gained from it is 11.5 per cast excluding damage- with damage, the max xp is 27.5. You get 4/3 hitpoints xp points for each point of damage you deal. Max is 8, meaning 32/3 max hp gained from Fire Strike. Dividing this by the max magic xp, you get a ratio of .3878 hitpoints-to-magic xp. The higer the ratio, the more hp xp you get versus magic xp assuming you continuously get the max hit. Obviously, you don't always get the max hit- so knowing that this is true, which spell is better? A wider damage range means that higher damage is dealt more often when the spell is cast successfully. Out of all spells, save for perhaps barrage or blitz spells, fire strike has the highest of these ratios.

Best F2P HP-training spell?
Which spell is best to cast if you want to raise HP in the highest HP-to-Mage xp ratio (If I want to raise HP without raising mage quite as fast)? I've calculated that fire strike is the best if you don't factor in hit probability, but what if I DO factor it in? What spell would be best then?
