  1. QFT. It would give me a much better incentive to get 99 mining.
  2. It might be doable if JaGeX changed every instance of item amounts in the game to long instead of int. I'm not sure if that would have any particular negative effect on the game, other than the gross amount of time it would take to properly replace each of those instances (considering that most values are of the int variety and there would be type mismatch issues).
  3. I'm glad to see JaGeX supports the right side. Of course, they really can't enforce this...
  4. I prefer regular boots. They don't lower your mage or range attack bonus.
  5. On occasion one may observe a wordsmith of such profundity that one needn't comment on his thoughts; the words do enough justice to themselves. Whine more please? There is no 'win game' button in RuneScape! Your entire post sounds like you are a 9-year old and your father needs to sit down to you and needs to teach you how to lose sometimes. Sorry for the offensive post. Moving right along... Many people respect power largely because it's something they don't have. By the same token, powerful people may be resented out of jealousy. In RuneScape, that power comes in the form of levels and material/monetary wealth. A person with very high levels and lots of money to wash it all down is often respected because he has something that others do not; how long he took to get it and whether or not he did it legitimately is of no consequence to people who haven't the maturity or decency for scruples. On the other hand, such judgments could stem from the fact that most will never meet the top RuneScape players, and thus they would be evaluated purely by statistics and not character. There's nothing wrong with this, unless the person making the judgment makes a gross extrapolation about their worshipee's character based on their stats (which is sometimes the case). So I think a lot of us- myself included - fall into camp #1 when we see people we'll never meet and fall into camp #2 when we can.
  6. I made 200k in the first 24 hours of a level 3 account. All I started with was 27 cowhides I'd picked up from what people left in the cow pens near Lumbridge. I sold them for 100 each, starting me out with 2700 gp in capital. How did I do it? Buying rune essence anywhere from 20-30 (F2P worlds 10+), then selling it for 31+ (F2P worlds 1-8). It isn't much profit per essence, but they are often sold readily in such sheer volumes that you're bound to make a lot of money given enough time. It helps if you have deep pockets to begin with. Starting with 300k, you should be able to turn a decent profit fairly quickly.
  7. :-X They try it because some people are fooled. If it CAN work, they will do it.
  8. I need to know so I know which kind of bar to make. Thanks in advance - Omni
  9. I'm level 72 smithing and fully f2p. What should I do to raise my smithing?
  10. I wish skillers would just STOP. We don't need any more people to confuse with macroers.
  11. I'm a runite miner. I am hunted by people I will never know, who pursue me and my kind for money, sport, or both. I am treated like dirt. I am insulted, laughed at, killed- I am told it is "my fault" for coming into the wilderness and that I should "mine elsewhere." I'm a free player. There is only one place to mine runite, and that is the level 46 wilderness. More than half of the people who come to kill me- the cowardly miner-killers- are members with pest-control trained magic and range, and take it for granted that I am as well, and look down on me if I report that I am not. I have seen- and talked to with my scout account- many killers who are rich members, but who kill us and keep our ore anyway, knowing that we are helpless. They don't care. They find it fun. They would much rather kill a totally defenceless target than fight a fair battle that they could lose. Even other miners attack me, often with the intention of killing me instead of driving me away from the ore. Why don't they have honor or try to understand us? Why does their greed outweigh any decency they might have? Why do they believe that because they CAN kill us, they SHOULD kill us? "It's only a game- stop obsessing over pixels." A game I and other runite miners- not to mention countless other people- have spent months of time in trying to get those "pixels" without having to resort to getting it at the unfair expense of others' time and effort. They kill us for those very "pixels" and they want them the easy way, not caring how much time the person they stomp on put into getting them. I believe that a person who demonstrates their worth as a human being in something as small as a virtual online game deserves much greater recognition than one who demonstrates his skill at using that game to exploit real people.
  12. Updates would be nice, but JaGeX is under no obligation to help us free players. That said, I think the content they do release to us is very good. Think about what else the JaGeX staff do aside from making content updates to the game: They have to keep 140 servers running smoothly 24-7, each packed with hundreds of people at any given time; they have to debug everything they create before releasing it into the game, making sure that nothing goes wrong (Remember the June Construction glitch?); they need to sort out the membership status of several thousand players every day; they need to constantly address problems in the game (macroers, abusive users, etc. - even if they don't do this as well as many of us would like); and worst of all, they need to put up with the assorted slings and arrows of hundreds of its players through their forums, their fans' forums, and their suggestion and customer support services. Is JaGeX letting us down? Ridiculous. I think they're doing a phenomenal job.
  13. It would be funny if they released a REAL spec for one day, then said "oops" and withdrew it the next day
  14. THANKS DUDE THAT WAS A REALLY HELPFUL POST Anyway, I believe that it would be a good idea to change respawn locations, -BUT- the player would be required to wait thirty to sixty seconds before the respawn. During this time the player might be shown a very awesome cutscene of their soul returning to Gielinor from their point of death, the abyss, heaven, etc. That way, the respawn location is much more convenient and at the same time disallows them from simply skipping back up to their point of death and retrieving their items. A quest, like recruitment drive, might be required to activate this feature.
  15. The simple solution is to add Snare or even entangle plus basic wave spells. Well, power robes could also be good.
  16. There is a vid of a level 53 getting that cape. I propose that stats extend well beyond 99, but that certain substantial methods of training be made available to those who reach that level such that going even higher will not be absolutely maddening. Even zezima would probably have a heart attack if it was suddenly announced that all stat maxima were now 150.
  17. This is not a macroer- He works among macroers (and probably other goldfarmers). How, pray tell? Don't tell me you think he could run 30 runescape clients off of one computer using Virtual PC and expect to not get caught. The FARMER gets $1.5 per million; the OWNER sells for (on average) four times that. Some owners will probably use a mix of macroers and farmers, probably asking some farmers to oversee the operation of some of the bots. I took it down in wordpad. It's easy when you know how to type properly. I can't be 100% sure if this person is really what they say they are, but I seriously doubt anyone who trained to 94 wc would have anything to gain by getting themselves banned after saying outright that they sell their RuneScape goods in the real world. Again, I posted the conversation because I felt that people should know about it. I'm not trying to rationalize illegal activities.
  18. This worker gets $.50 for each 1k yews he makes, not a wage on an hourly basis. Even at 94 wc (as he has), I seriously doubt he can cut 1k yews in an hour. Even if he does, it is still by your reckoning about three bucks here. Still less than half of the proposed US minimum wage, and that's for probably a quarter of a day's work. He probably gets room and board, so he can live with it- but it's not exactly rosy all the same.
  19. These are all of the accounts I use. All others I either do not use or have committed minor drop trading infractions (though none have been caught). OmniIcyshelf (Level 91) - Main, Runite Miner (one day going to be an awesome dual 99 hybrid) Storm Zephyr (Level 27) - Mini-Hybrid (though only mage at the moment), scouts and sweeps rune rocks Zephyric Eye (Level 17) - Defense and Prayer Pure (30, 24); will be used for scouting rune rocks at 40 defense and 25 prayer It Is Green (Level 3) - Non-Skilling Merchant. Made 200k in his first 24 hours. Drop traders, minor accounts: Very Big Axe (Level 21) - Retired strength pure-in-training Calm Zephyr (Level 5) - Only used for scouting. Drop traded 100 salmon to Very Big Axe, hence no longer used. Swift Zephyr (Level 5) - Was to be my first mage pure. I dropped the four magic beads for him to complete the quest from my main, but did not complete the transaction. I no longer use this account, though I did nothing bad on it. Cool names!̢̢̮ââ¬Ã¾Ãââ I own: I Am Rob 64 O O Link O O OmniScourge (I forgot the password. This was to be my main.)
