Drumgun has claimed rank #6 today with his impressive 35M summon xp over the last 3 days. It's not impossible he'll pass Erw J in the coming days. Also watch out for Zarfot, at the pace he's going (930k xp slayer yesterday) he could pass Jdelacroix before reaching 2B xp.

It really shows how some skills have gotten boosts in the last year or new and more easy methods. Look at fletching for example: 40% of all 99s have been reached in the last year, with no new methods of training. Now look at woodcutting : 70% of all 99s have been reached in the last year, with the introduction of ivy and sawmill. Mining : 77% with concentrated ores. Herblore: 71% with extremes and overloads. Btw, Fletching is currently the 6th skill with the most new 99s in the last year while it's in 4th place total and used to be 1st or 2nd a couple years back. Awaiting the day that no one will be called a fletch noob!

I was about to write something similar to what Stonewall wrote. The writer assumes all player behave in the same way he is, which is the flaw of his article. In principle though, to remind people that this is a game and is meant to have fun, the article reaches its goal.

Slight update... Aasiwat has officially reached 100M in WC for his 8th 100M skill tying his for most with Gertjaars and Jdelacroix. Lan has officially reached 100M in attack for his 7th 100M skill. Drumgun has reach 1,7B xp total and, if he's indeed pushing for 200M summoning, could pass Lan for rank #6 (currently 20M xp behind).

Jdelacroix and Drumgun are doing seperate skills. Aasiwat, Zarfot, Lan and Kingduffy are doing slayer mostly.

Update for the top 8 players Aasiwat: Has slowed considerably lately. Will reach 2,1B xp this coming week as well as his 8th skill at 100M xp to tie him for most with Gertjaars and Jdelacroix. Gertjaars: Still inactive. Jdelacroix: Will reach 2B xp in the next 10 days as well as his 5th 200M skill. He has cut Aasiwat's lead on him from 160M to 115M since the last 2 months. Slayer is still his weakest link. Zarfot: Has emerged as the fastest of the top 8 recently with a mix of slayer, woodcutting and fletching. Will also reach 2B xp by mid to end july. He could also become the 3rd player to achieve 6 skills at 200M xp with fletching. Erw J: Has seen his pace slowed as lot lately and has been training woodcutting. Will reach 1,8B sometimes this summer. Lan: Will get his 7th 100M skill later today or tomorrow. Has been slaying a lot lately and will get his 8th 100M skill with ranged by august. He could also pass Erw J for rank #5. Drumgun: After months of slow str training, he has started training summoning. Will become the 7th player to reach 1,7B xp later today. He is also still the player best positionned to become the first to have 7 skills at 200M. Kingduffy : Mostly training slayer these days, he is not close to any milestones and sits confortably in 8th place, far from Drumgun and Nintendo Swe (rank 9). Apart from Nintendo Swe at 1,54B xp, there's a bunch of players with 1,4B-1,49B xp.

@Nefalia The burden is not placed upon the newcomer or the first person arrived. The burden is placed upon the person who can't stand getting crappy xp rates. If someone comes to the place I train and it slows me greatly, I'll deal with it by either trying to beat him or hopping. If I end up being the newcomer, I'll judge if it's worth hopping or not. I'll only hop at daganoths when there is another cannon already set-up. I'll try to scare away other players at dust devils when I feel I could get better kill rates. Like all games, RS is competitive in many aspect rather than cooperative.

thanx guys, that spot is much more convenient that the spot I used (east of port tyras). looks like I'm on my way to get 500 spikes too, while I would get 300-400 at the other spot.

I've been hunting them lately using a fruit bat and fruit fall scrolls with larupia gear (even though I heard it has no effect) and always try to get at least 5-6 squares away and I don't seem to be getting much xp (25-35K per hour). Is there a better method? I hear people getting nearly 1M gp per hour at 99 hunter... does it involve baiting only grenwalls and banking to get more pawaya meat? I hate the skill, but I want 89 hunter to be able to get all effigies...

Agreeing with Xpx here. So far most players from the top 8 have trained the fastest skills (even though slayer is not fast on its own, combined with combat skills and summoning, it's no wonder a lot of top players are training it). The real challenge will come when they are faced with the slowest skills that cannot be combined (like Zarfot is doing with WC, FM and Feltch for example). An unknown factor to take into consideration... future updates, no one knows if an update will make RC train at 150K per hour... A recent example is the introduction of effigies, quick xp for those who have the levels and the dragonkin lamps for the expensive, slow or boring skill. Like Xpx said someone getting 200M slayer xp will end up with 120M xp (approx) in other skills that they won't have to train. Worst case scenario is 30 days saved in XP for fast skills and best case scenario is 150-180 days saved for slow skills.

Only sw cape? i'm suprised. 500k is good as an average, but nothing really special. It's too bad half of his slayer xp has gone by with no effigies at all, since at 200k slayer xp per effigy(which is about the rate) which is about 70m overall xp lost. What's the standard these days as to max slayer xp in a day? I remember 5 years ago Zezima being the top dog with 350K a day, but I have no idea what are the figures today.

Unsurprisingly he's gotten 500K xp slayer per day on some of his best days. He's raking in some effigies also these days.

Drumgun has officially reached 150M xp in str. Erw J has started training Dungeoneering gaining 67 lvls in the last 2-3 days. Aasiwat has been inactive for the last 2-3 days. Gertjaars has logged in during the week-end to rub a genie lamp... nothing groundbreaking. Lan, Jdelacroix, Zarfot and Kingduffy mantaining their respective pace. Coming milestones of the top 8 players: -Aasiwat : 11M to go for 2,1B xp --- 3M xp to go for 100M WC --- 5,5M xp for 100M Construction -Jdelacroix : 3M to go for 200M construction (5th 200M skill) -Lan : 5,5M to go for 100M attack

People are mad because Jagex messed up a pretty easy fix to their game and in the process pourred once again more cash into an economy that's already plagued by inflation.

Aasiwat still has a great position to get it, but you need to take into account his lead over the Jdelacroix (rank #2 for active players) has shrunk from 160M to 125-130M in the last couple weeks. Obviously Dungeon batch 2 will give us a clearer view as most contenders will probably train the skill efficiently form that point on.

Lan has now become the 6th player to reach 1,7B xp and the 7th player to reach 100M xp in slayer. Jdelacroix will reach 200M construction early next week, becoming the 5th player to ever do so. Drumgun will reach 150M str during the week-end. For those interested, Yogosun has made a comback training Dungeoneering. He used to be the 3rd wheel to Zezima and Uloveme around 3 years ago. At 1,07B xp though, he's not a contender anymore.

It's not because "no one" complains about it that it doesn't need fixing... The fact that players were using dirt cheap boots to pvp meant something was wrong. They messed up with the alching price in the fix, but all in all, it was a good fix.

If I deal more damage than my opponent, then the kill is mine and so is the drop. If you want to fight it till I hop, you better have higher stats than me....since you can't really have higher stats than me, you should get better items or hop, because I'm gonna get a great portion of the kills.

From another thread, here are my 2010 goals - 2200 total lvl before a new skill is released (shouldn't be too hard...) Already completed - 2300 total (if the new skill is release in the first half of the year - expecting 65 in the new skill and 2235 in current skills) I'm 8 lvls short of 2300 and planing on getting it this summer - 1Bil bank value (I'm not a spender, should be somewhat easy unless everything crash) Bank value is hovering at 800M atm, hoping for 900M by the end of the summer - All skills 80+ (current skills tearsing and circusing agility, penguining RC + quest lamps and genie lamps, Hunting only when agi gets close, and planning to gather a lot of teak and mahogany planks with patterned logs) I'm very close to this goal (that didn't include Dungeon), I will make this by the end of august with my weekly strange rocks - 99 FM, 99 fishing, 99 FM, 99 Fletching, 96 Summon, 90 Prayer, 95 Mining, 95+ Smithing (only prayer is questionnable as I hate spenging on skills - doing the last quest is a must for next year) 99 fish, and fletch achieved already, FM, maybe this summer through strange rocks, 86-87 prayer by the end of the summer, 95 summon by the end of the summer, 94 smith and 93 mining probable - 325 Mil Total XP (Nothing special, just keeping my current rate) I will reach this before summer's end, so that goal was easy to reach - 285 QP (or at least While Guthix Sleeps and Blood runs deep done) Haven't quested much, I should, probably won't though... 261 QP atm - Achieve rank 1000 or better in slayer - Everyone's slaying these days... rank 1450.... new goal is get my best rank ever, so under 1200 - Get better rankings in skills slightly above 99 (getting 100K XP over 99 cooking gives around 30-40K in ranks) - I already got better rankings in fishing, cooking, fletching, farming, magic, WC, the only exception is ranged.

It's summer, and yet you find time to sit in your room writing stuff about a video game you no longer play... please explain!

I can safely say I enjoy at least 95% of my time slaying. The only 99 I hated doing was fletching, but everytime I grew tired of it, I'd stop and do something else. Some players go for 99 for bragging rights while other players simply like playing the game.
