  1. 55 sec average. 45 sec best. and yes... i AM asian. ^_^
  2. This isn't anything you do in circuses... but I can do a lot of things involving fingers. Pen Spinning: Thumb around, reverse thumb around, thumb spin 1.5, thumb spin 2.0, sonic 23, sonice 45 (or is it 32 and 54?), reverse sonic, neo sonic, charge, reverse charge, and some made up stuff that don't have names. XCM (card manipulation, not that good at it though) A few magic tricks Coin roll Book spinning (can't do textbooks thought, fingers aren't strong enough yet =/ ) Can solve a 3x3x3 rubik cube in an average of 55 seconds. Fastest time was 45 seconds. Oh... and I can juggle 3 balls in 2 hands... and 2 balls in 1 hand. or 4 balls with 2 balls in each hand. Yeah... the only thing I'm exceptionally good at is pen spinning though. The other skills are just... average.
  3. I always thought I was in the 80s-90s range. First try too.
  4. I like ... darn. I like everything about females. -_-" I guess the thing I dislike the most though are elbows. I mean, when the arms are straight and stuff, you just see wrinkly skin. It doesn't bother me much, but I had to think of something. Oh, and I dislike male bodies, except mine, cause I'm so smexy, jkjk. Erm, yeah. Nothing in guys really attracts me which I guess is a pretty good thing.
  5. Dang, what do you do for a living? And I must say, nice taste in cars. I myself was looking to buy a Civic SI Coupe, but it'll have to wait until after college. Probably go down to 15k by then. :D
  6. I enjoy wearing the prep look. : Give me a undershirt, a polo, jeans/cargo shorts, nice boxers, nice belt, flip flops, a bracelet, and a necklace, and that'd be my favorite outfit ever. I generally shop at AE a lot, sometimes Aeropostale. I'm not really a brand [bleep], but the quality is a big difference. Some people say that these stores are expensive and that they can get it for cheaper elsewhere. But that's really not true. Aeropostale constantly has 50% off and AE has sales sometimes as well. What I really like is American Eagle, it's just harder to find good prices for them. For example, a pair of cargo shorts I bought yesterday. Original price was $45. Well, it was on clearance for $30. And then I added 15% off because it was within a week of my birthday. So I ended up paying $25 for them. At Wal-Mart and Old Navy, you buy shorts for $20 each, but the $5 is seen in the difference in quality. (Plus, I'll admit, I think the eagle logo is sexy . I don't like it when it's like ALL OVER YOUR SHIRT, but a tiny eagle logo really does brighten up a polo or your shorts (if someone's bored enough to find a eagle on your butt, lol).) OH!! I also LOVE their flip flops. I got a pair of suede flip flops and they're SO comfortable. It's like walking on a cloud. I also have some canvas and leather ones, but they don't get as much love as the suede ones. Hm... what else? Oh, I refuse to shop at Hollister. I think their clothes are ok, but the California surf look is imo, stupid. I'm willing to bet that half the people in my school that wear Hollister have never been to California, let alone know how to surf. And the prices are ridiculously high. $30 for a polo? A&F too. Even though the quality of the clothes is very good (I've tried on a few polos), the prices are outrageous. $70 for a polo? $100 for a pair of ripped jeans? Even though these clothes will probably last at least 10 years, I think I'd rather buy 4 sets of American Eagle clothes that would last me 3 years than 1 set that'd last me 10. Just my two cents. \
  7. Hi, welcome to the 21st century How'd I get here? O_o Nah, just saying why like 3rd world countries still do it. If you read all the way down, I said I thought arranged marriages were stupid for countries such as America, Europe, China, etc. Just giving another point of view for more fun. :P
  8. I think most of y'all are missing the point of arranged marriages. Back in the classical periods and in some cases of the post-classical periods (mostly the Chinese civilizations), arranged marriages were ideal. Life back then was totally based on social stratification. If you were born a peasant, you stayed a peasant (or serf if you wanted to, but that's OT), if you were born in the higher castes, you usually stayed in the higher castes. In fact in China, besides the examination system, MOST people in leading positions did not EARN their positions by YEARS of studying and test-taking, but instead were BORN into it. However, if a women were to marry someone of a higher social level, then she would be promoted. It's basically the only way for a women to be seen as something in the community, elsewise they'd be nothing. An example is all the beautiful women who stayed in the emperor's palace just hoping to become a concubine so their status could be boosted. Also, I don't believe that love was that important in those times. I read somewhere in the post about feet-binding. Feet-binding back then was not purely for looks, but was a way to limit, literally, how far women could be. With feet like that, women could not run away or do hard work, but were instead confined to housework. But it's not only the Chinese that praticed confining women, the Western civilization also did it in the form of corsets. So in short, arranged marriages were highly looked upon in those times due to all the positive attributes. Love meant close to nothing. ^That's all from memory from my WHAP course, so I'm not saying that's 100% accurate, but it gives a good reason why arranged marriages were so good. But arranged marriages in 1st world countries is stupid IMO. 3rd world countries I can understand.
  9. What I do for tennis is first stretch the legs. Y'know, to the right for 10 secs, to the left for 10 secs, and down the middle for ten secs. (Everything's ten secs from here on out.) Then hold you right/left feet next to your butt. Then shoulder stretches, arm stretches, and finger stretches. Next you should lean your upper torso as far right/left as they go to stretch the abdominal muscles. Run 2 or 3 laps around 3 tennis courts width and warm up your jumping, side steps and backword... moving... thing. Then I usually play mini-tennis (service line's out) for about 5 minutes. AND THEN I rally from the baseline. I make a big deal about warming up because that's how one of my coaches got hurt so I believe it's really important. Plus I feel as if I have more energy if I do and I don't feel tired as quickly.
  10. I'm pretty sure Ohio would've been bumped below USC regardless of a win/loss in the preseason polls due to the fact that Troy Smith is leaving as well as 21 (or so) seniors. And boo... I betted money on OSU but it's like they were sleeping the whole game. In addition, it was a really BORING game to watch/ :|
  11. Photoshops. You can colour select what you want to remain and what you want to go to grayscale. Like that. Thanks Cad, But be more specific please. As in.. What was the tool/filter called? http://graphicssoft.about.com/od/pselem ... lcolor.htm There's tons of photoshop tutorials online, you just gotta make sure you have adobe first  Anyway, I think we've established that CE's a girl. GREAT JOB EVERYONE! =D>
  12. San Antonio Spurs- That's sorta where I live... Texas Longhorns- That's like 1 hour north of me, plus 2005 national football champs in addition to an awesome basketball team That's basically all the sports I watch on a regular basis
  13. So, any of you people out there that may have their own websites know that most of the time it's required to put one of your own pictures on it. Well this is fine and dandy, but seriously, once you put up 10 bizillion pictures of yourself up, they all start to look the same. Sadly, that's happened to me. So I'm looking for fresh creative pictures that I can take. If anyone of you people want to share some ideas or even post a picture (just draw over the faces) that'd be great. Photoshopping pictures works too. ex Now your turn! :D
  14. Everytime I am within 5 feet of a pen/pencil (or any other long and somewhat cylindrical shaped object ranging from rulers to remote controls) I have to reach over, and give it a good spin to see if it's a good spinning object. If it is, I do a short combo with it and then put it down where I found it. If it's not, I just do a normal thumbaround and sigh in disgust. I need to break this habit as sometimes in school I just reach over and take someone else's pen and start spinning it #-o
  15. :| All my asian friends and I are great drivers. I find old women bad drivers. Actually, I find teenage girls and soccer moms bad drivers as well. So I guess that means all female species. ^That's just a broad statement and I'm sure all the girls on this board are great drivers  *cough*
  16. Yup :P OK, I'll rephrase. "Without asking her to bend over for you..." :-w -Mitch Yup, get behind her and hold her hand while she swings. Even better because you can jump a bit forward! I can wholly vouch that this is true :anxious:
  17. What? O_o I'm pretty sure you won't lose a table and if you lose the ping pong balls, those are like 50 cents each. I personally would go for the ping pong table, but maybe that's cause I'm asian and asian people love ping pong (it's true : ). It's a great social thing to do and... ... ... it's what an asian would do : .
  18. Aw... I really wanted to play but whenever I try to play the game, the exe opens for 5 secs and then closes. AND I'M CONFUSED!!!!!!!! So yeah, do I have to turn off a certain firewall or something cause it's not working. Like I can press the "start" button and the window opens and the cursor changes, but 5 seconds later it closes.
  19. i think blues are a waste of time. they seem to be expensive and i think they fire slower than greens. maybe it's my imagination though. i'll try adding a green row in the middle next. EDIT same results...
  20. Last year i had a thing for card manipulation so i had around 10 different types of poker decks. Lesse what I remember w/o going to my closet. I had a regular blue bicycle deck, a black bee deck, red bee deck, black tiger deck, black tiger deck w/ red pips, tally-[garden tool] circle back vipers, and a bicycle ghost deck. ^_^ The one's you guys haven't heard of were made for card manipulation and can only be gotten via Internet. They're nice... But this year I got into pen spinning. Well actually I've been pen spinning for a while now, but this year I really wanted to get better. So as a result, I have a LOT of Pentel RSVPS (various colors), some Pilot G2s (would get more but they're expensive), a lot of cheap BICs and my pride and joys, my 5 pen mods. I have 2 RSVP MXs, 1 RSVP MMX, 1 BICtory mod, and 1 pencil mod that my friend made up so it has no official name (yes... there are official names for pens as well as different types of tricks) Basically in pen modifications, you take different pens (usually 2-5), take them apart, and put them together in a way that's ideal for spinning, you know, longer pen, extra weight, center of balance close to center of pen, etc, really depends on what types of tricks you want to do with the pen. Each pen has it's pros and cons (except maybe the RSVP vortex... but I can't make those because the States don't sell com-ssa pens >.>) Here's a pic of my 2 MXs and MMX. Too lazy to take a picture of my card/pen collection though... I strayed from the topic a bit...
  21. yeah, i know JKR said he was dead, but here's an interesting theory i found on the net around a year ago. *not mine* Below is a theory I thought of that would be a solution to Dumbledore's death, one with a lot of proof behind it and a solid, believable story. The evidence I've found will back up the theories that (1) Dumbledore is an Animagus, (2) his Animagus form is of a phoenix, and (3) he flew, in phoenix form, out of his ashes at the time of his burial. I'd like to hear your thoughts on this. About Animagi An Animagus Being able to transfigure yourself into an animal while keeping your mind intact - and still able to think and act like a human. Very few wizards are able to master this ability. "The animal one turns into as an animagus reflects your personality." - JKR "The registry" [PoA - 19] If you are an Animagus, you are required to register yourself as one with the Ministry ASAP. Failing to do so can meet some severe punishments (Azkaban). This registry is public - Hermione was able to see a list of 7 registered Animagi in the 20th century, and which animal they could turn into. Professor McGonagall is one of these 7, the other 6 are unknown to us. We know that other wizards (Sirius Black, Peter Pettigrew, James Potter, Rita Skeeter, etc) have this ability but prefer to keep it a secret, even with the risk of being caught by the Ministry. Bird as an Animagi [PS - 6] Ron, sitting with Harry, received a Chocolate Frog trading card of Morgana le Fey on the train to their first year at Hogwarts. He gave it to Harry, which was the second card Harry had ever seen or heard of. Morgana was a bird Animagus. The first card Harry received was Dumbledore himself. The only other known bird-Animagus is Falco Aesalon; he was the first ever recorded Animagus. His animal form was a falcon. This information can be found on the HP trading cards. Dumbledore as an Animagus If Dumbledore shared the powers of a phoenix, he would be able to re-animate himself from his ashes. Order of the Phoenix In the 1970s, Dumbledore got together a group of great wizards willing to fight against Voldemort and his Death Eaters. This secret organization was called none other than "Order of the Phoenix". This was Dumbledore's Order. This is the most obvious clue we can find, completely overlooked by most readers. Teaching [CoS - 13, 17] Before Dumbledore became a Headmaster, he was working as a Transfiguration teacher at Hogwarts (roughly in the 1940s). The current Transfiguation teacher - McGonagall - is a known and registered Animagus, which is obviously one of the reasons why she is wise enough to teach Transfiguration. Re-animation [CoS - 12] "'Fawkes is a phoenix, Harry. Phoenixes burst into flame when it is time for them to die and are reborn from the ashes. Watch him ...' Harry looked down in time to see a tiny, wrinkled, new-born bird poke its head out of the ashes." Dumbledore explains to Harry what happens to a phoenix on their Burning Day. After a phoenix's Burning Day, he will be full-grown again [HBP - 30] "Then several people screamed. Bright, white flames had erupted around Dumbledore's body and the table upon which it lay: higher and higher they rose, obscuring the body. White smoke spiralled into the air and made strange shapes: Harry thought, for one heart-stopping moment, that he saw a phoenix fly joyfully into the blue..." The body was obscured by the flames, and by the time the flames were gone, the table (and what we are supposed to assume is Dumbledore's body) was lowered into the tomb. It's more than possible that Dumbledore's body was burnt to ashes, and the tomb is just another distraction trying to lead to the conclusion that he really is dead. Why Die? "Dumbledore has had to step back a little bit from Harry in an effort to teach him some of life's harder lessons." - JKR Dumbledore's death has made Harry more independant. Harry now realizes he must be the one to kill Voldemort - he has to be the one to hunt down the Horcruxes. With Dumbledore now gone, Voldemort will be confident enough to rise to his full potential. This will weaken him greatly, in a way, and will give Harry a much better chance at Voldemort (especially if Dumbledore turns up to help). The fact that Snape killed Dumbledore allows Malfoy to stay free from Voldemort's punishments, without having to face the burden of 'murdering' his headmaster, and will also make Snape more popular with Voldemort. Dumbledore's Patronus "What form does DumbledoreÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s Patronus take? Good question. Can anyone guess? You have had a clue. There was a little whisper there. It is a phoenix, which is very representative of Dumbledore for reasons that I am sure you can guess." (from an interview with JKR) Many wizards Patronuses are also the animals they become in their Animagus form For example, the Patronus of James Potter takes the form of a stag. The animal he turns into in Animagus form is also a stag. Domesticating a Phoenix In the book Fantastic Beasts & Where to Find Them, J.K. Rowling writes that "phoenix gains a XXXX rating not because it is aggressive, but because very few wizards have ever succeeded in domesticating it". It's unusual that Dumbledore is able to control Fawkes so well. We know he is a great wizard - but what if he has a unique way of communicating with phoenixes? We know that an Animagus is able to communicate with certain creatures in a fashion that most wizards wouldn't usually be able to. Peter Pettigrew was able to find out Voldemort's hiding place by talking with rats. Peter takes a rat in his Animagus form, which would explain why he can communicate so well with those creatures. If Dumbledore was a phoenix Animagus, it would explain the rare ability he has to be able to domesticate phoenixes (namely, Fawkes). Registered Animagus If Dumbledore shared the powers of a Phoenix, he would be able to re-animate himself from his own ashes. If any of his enemies knew this ability of his, they would know not to leave his body after he was killed, or they would have at least ensured that no flames could touch the body. Perhaps Dumbledore is an unregistered, and uknown, Animagus. That would explain why no one questioned the phoenix they briefly glimpsed flying from the tomb of Dumbledore. Other Misc. Info Dumbledore uses a scarlet quill - presumably from Fawkes. [OotP - 37] Dumbledore, like Fawkes before his "Burning Day", had been looking "dreadful for days" and looked like death upon arrival back in Hogsmeade after recovering the locket. Fawkes? - "I am not going to answer about the role in the next books, which probably gives you a big clue, and [Fawkes] has never been owned by anyone but Dumbledore." - JKR "The animal one turns into as an animagus reflects your personality." "You become the animal that suits you best." - JKR Dumbledore has always had an unnatural affinity towards fire, and he has a lot of control over it (much like a phoenix would).
  22. i played this hardcore 2 weeks ago there's basically two tricks to this straight line trick: you right click where you want the line to start, then you left click where you want the line to end and then wiggle the mouse a bit. (hint, if the right click option blocks where you want to left click, just right click again in a different location, and then go back and left click) curved line trick: using the straight line trick, you draw something that looks like this another fun thing to do is this which will let your guy go on a 90 degree line. what i like to do, is do 3 pages worth of 90 degree lines and then curve it straight up. you can do a GIGANTIC loop this way.

    I Wiin

i went to my friends house today and tried out the wii wii tennis- don't expect much if you're a real tennis player. i'm sure it entertains the never-before-touched-a-tennis-racket type of guy, but for a guy like me, i was like o_O the whole time cause it was so unlike the real thing. for one, i think they messed up on how to control where to hit the ball, cause i noticed it was very hard for me, and two, slices and topspin are like... non factors in the game. red steel (?)- very fun game. takes a lot of getting used to though. hard for me to aim and fire, but i'm sure if i kept playing for a while longer, i would've gotten used to it. took me about 30 mins to adjust to the whole, left hand controls movement and right hand controls which direction you face and where to aim the gun. very fun game though and the nunchucks are very responsive, not choppy at all. twilight princess- i thought the graphics were amazing. slingshot and boomerang were very fun to use. movement was kinda hard for me, but i'm sure it was just a matter of getting used to. overall, the idea behind the wii sounded tons better on paper. but though it didn't completly blow me away as the next thing, it was amazing nonetheless.
  24. What is your favourite sport(s)? Tennis by far is my personal favorite. Why do you like this sport(s)? I like it because it's an individual sport. If you win, you know you're better than your opponent (or you got lucky, but I don't think about that part : ), if you lose, then there's no one you place the blame on but yourself and it gives you a drive to get better. Plus, it's oddly satisfying when you hit an exceptionally good spot. An ace down the line, a slice out wide, a well angled/down-the-line forehand/backhand, or my personal favorite, the dropper. (Though again, most of my good shots are purely unintentional) It also relieves stress and helps me forget about my daily worries. :) How good are you? Have you ever won any competitions? I would say I'm fairly good. Not anyone you'd hear about in other schools, but I'm okay. I've got a massive forehand that my coach showed me and me only. (He was once ranked in the top 100 in the world. Unfortunately he sprained his shoulder muscle so he had to rely on coaching for a living. :( ) Competition-wise, I play poorly. My nerves get to me and I end up pushing. I always practice playing offensively with some decend defense, so whenever I start pushing I do bad. :wall: Who do you play with and where? I play with my coach, friends, and my dad at school, tennis clinics, and whereever my friends want to play.
