They are not that special. Hah, maybe to you if you live in Finland. 8-) Many tourists will travel thousands of miles in the northern part of it just for experiencing the NL. But actually, since you mentioned it Kido, I believe NL can be also seen in rare parts of northern Canada as well. It's on the same latitude as northern Norway/Finland/Sweden and occurs in the same fashion. Really, they are spooky. They look quite unreal, even if it's just some solar wind glancing off from earth's magnetic field (or something). Green-curtainy-thingys that hover in the sky and wave wildly. Unfortunately they are quite rare nowdays. It takes a really cold ( I think it takes -29 degrees, or more)and clear night to see them, and they only appear in the very northern parts of scandinavia anymore. Just plain sience, but they really make you believe in supernatural for a while.
