December 6, 200619 yr Does anyone have any unique places, such as non or not very popular tourists places, that they'd like or love to travel to? It's pretty much self explanatory. I'd love to visit Novaya Zemlya or the Frans Josef islands, and/or also Svalbard and Jan Mayen. They seem like such unique places, because they are so north. Also, I'd love to visit the savannas of Africa. Me doing staff.
December 6, 200619 yr I'd love to visit Novaya Zemlya Trust me, you wouldn't. Russia has conducted nuclear tests there and I doubt they will even let tourists in there. Interesting, very interesting you should mention Svalbard though. It's a breathtaking place with great scenery, straight from a LOTR movie or something. I have been there and even though it was immensely cold, it was an unique holiday (who wants to go to a sunny beach every darn time?). The hotels and motels (there are more of the latter) are sparse, but offer nice fish soup and other meals.
December 6, 200619 yr Tierra del Fuego. I have always wondered what's it like over there? [Star Wreck][PM me][My gallery][DeviantArt][Cool T-shirts!][iron Sky - Trailer is now out!]
December 6, 200619 yr This might not be that unique but I want to visit basically anywhere I can see the Northern Lights CLEARLY from. And Switzerland. December 6, 200619 yr This might not be that unique but I want to visit basically anywhere I can see the Northern Lights CLEARLY from. They are not that special. They are just plain scary. [Star Wreck][PM me][My gallery][DeviantArt][Cool T-shirts!][iron Sky - Trailer is now out!]

Hah, maybe to you if you live in Finland. 8-) Many tourists will travel thousands of miles in the northern part of it just for experiencing the NL. But actually, since you mentioned it Kido, I believe NL can be also seen in rare parts of northern Canada as well and you live relatively close, try that. It's on the same latitude as northern Norway/Finland/Sweden and occurs in the same fashion.

They look quite unreal, even if it's just some solar wind glancing off from earth's magnetic field (or something). Green-curtainy-thingys that hover in the sky and wave wildly. Unfortunately they are quite rare nowdays. It takes a really cold ( I think it takes -29 degrees, or more)and clear night to see them, and they only appear in the very northern parts of scandinavia anymore. Just plain sience, but they really make you believe in supernatural for a while. [Star Wreck][PM me][My gallery][DeviantArt][Cool T-shirts!][iron Sky - Trailer is now out!]

December 6, 200619 yr Id like to go skiing in Japan. I read in Freeskier magazine that the skies hills are the best unkept secret in Japan because nobody skies.
December 6, 200619 yr I believe NL can be also seen in rare parts of northern Canada Anywhere in northern Canada, it isn't that rare from what I hear.
December 6, 200619 yr Just change the topic to 'places you'd want to visit' since that's pretty much what most has posted so far. Not popular tourist spots is such a contradiction that they'd beat up each other when you use them in the same sentence. For me, I'd love to go to Palawan, Boracay, Hawaii, Spain, Caribbean, etc. I miss the heat especially. :: Guess the Movie Contest Champion: pfilc23 ::
December 6, 200619 yr i'd like to go to Berlin and learn a bit about my heritage. and i'd also like to go to Moscow (my grandmother's side of the family lived there) http://www.keepingongaming.com/boards -- Sign Up

December 7, 200619 yr I believe NL can be also seen in rare parts of northern Canada Anywhere in northern Canada, it isn't that rare from what I hear. I used to see them in Edmonton. It's not that rare. Trix.--quit WoW as of 12/07Thank you 4be2jue for the wonderful sig and avatar!
December 7, 200619 yr Tierra del Fuego. I have always wondered what's it like over there? Ever since reading Castaways of the Flying Dutchman, I've wondered the same.
December 7, 200619 yr I believe NL can be also seen in rare parts of northern Canada Anywhere in northern Canada, it isn't that rare from what I hear. I live in Yellowknife, NT, Canada (capital city) and the northern lights are common here.
December 7, 200619 yr Venice, every city in Japan(Each seem to have their own special culture to them so I want to see as much as I can), Greece, Rome, China, and the Himalayas. ~^v^~Ex-Leader of the Divine Flames of Redemption~^v^~
December 7, 200619 yr Unfortunately they are quite rare nowdays. It takes a really cold ( I think it takes -29 degrees, or more)and clear night to see them, and they only appear in the very northern parts of scandinavia anymore. Bummer. I would still do it though.. If theres one thing I want to see before I die, it's the Northern Lights. December 7, 200619 yr I dunno, there's tons of places I'd like to visit, some of which I've been to already. -Dubai (seems like one of the coolest places to be right now) -Shanghai (ditto) -Italy (with a girl, it seems like it'd be really romantic) -Dominican Republic -Acapulco (I've been there like 8 times, but I love it there)
December 7, 200619 yr Tierra del Fuego. I have always wondered what's it like over there? Ever since reading Castaways of the Flying Dutchman, I've wondered the same. It's not much, really. The nature is awesome and the main town is all about the harbor. The Falklands are a better spot, IMO. But I'd visit both. ^The most disturbing signature on Tip.it^Last.fm|HELLY KAYLA!|Oh the mehagurtz!|#Siencemakers"they care less about their spelling mistakes then I." - Lionheart"apinagez... let me
