It might be but that doesnt explain Errdoth's 8800GTS using 2654mb when its actually 640mb, on dxdiag it says I have 1275mb of approx. total memory when my 3870 is supposed to have 512 so the extra I assume is from the RAM that is used when the GPU RAM is full.

I think its the approximate memory that can be used by the GPU to store Textures etc. by using your RAM

I can help you with your PC questions: 1. no you cannot use any video card with your laptop 2. rather build your own as it will be cheaper + better parts 3. I think what you are talking about "sidestep" or something and thats an intel utility that declocks your processor when it is idle to save energy.

Played the Demo but for some reason I kept BSOD'ing probably cause of impotent powersupply but its a pretty good game. Need a steering wheel/controller though. Add some car customisation and I reckon its better than ProStreet.

ATI used to beat Nvidia in the 98xx to X1xx series ( If i recall correctly, maybe earlier) and after AMD took over them, their high products started to fall behind Nvidia's top range (HD2900), however now ATI's new 48xx series are giving Nvidia's GTX series a run for their money being able to compete and even beat their Nvidia counterparts while being alot cheaper.

What about Granado Espada, I read about it in PC Powerplay and it seems decent.

I got addicted to Red Alert 2 back in 2001-03 when I was 9ish and spent hours playing and perfecting my strategies, played CC Generals for a bit but not as intense as my RA2 days and finally purchased Command and Conquer 3. CC3 was fun for a few months and then I played some RTS's outside of Command and Conquer begining with Company of Heroes. CoH had great graphics, story etc. and was hooked on it for a while. Now I'm playing World in Conflict and I have to say that it is one of the best games I've played with excellent graphics, multiplayer,and unit balancing. I was looking forward to RA3 but after playing games such as WiC and CoH, it's gonna be another tank rush fest, with not much actual planning with whoever manufacturers the most tanks/min wins.
