  1. I might learn how to in PE this coming year, that's like the one reason I signed up for the class I'm taking. :P (Uhh, yeah, I'm one of those nerds who watch people fire bows in MMORPGs and fantasy movies and think it's awesome, and want to do it myself - even though I'd probably be a complete failure at it) Never even considered firing a gun though. I'm pretty sure gun laws in Massachusetts are really strict. Maybe I'll do it out-of-state sometime, I suppose it'd be fun. :P
  2. So apparently it's been a year since I reset my counter. I've been in the group for a few months now, so I'm sure some of you might have noticed me. I don't have much metal, so I think most people are either [Very] Low or Medium with me - maybe a few Highs, very few Very Highs, and I'm pretty sure meol is the only SUPER I'll ever find on here. And yea, I'm sure some of you will have some issues with the music I listen to. :P (Just know that, of course, just because something is in my library - even if they have a lot of plays - doesn't mean I like them that much, anymore, at least) Oh, and I finally set up Zenses yesterday. Time to start scrobbling from my Zune. Edit: Ahaha, took me a while to realize I didn't link to my profile. Here ya go
  3. Plato > Socrates Aristotle < Socrates < Plato. Confucius > Greek philosophers Gandalf > Confucius though.

I got my official course list yesterday, apparently I have Graphics Communications instead of Drafting. What. I didn't even sign up for it. But I don't care. I'm actually kind of interested in Graphic Arts. Though the class I'm apparently currently signed up for is kind of stupid, you don't really do anything. If the teacher is who I think it is though, it should be fine. Though I'm taking this to my counselor again. :wall:

I wonder that too. Having been here for a few years now, I've seen a good deal of users come and go. You generally don't hear from people after they leave - I can only think of two, maybe three exceptions for me. Being the pessimist and paranoid person I am, I often leap to the conclusion - hm, maybe they're dead. No one ever says "bye guys, I'm quitting this forum" anymore. So maybe they were randomly killed. But that's probably my pessimism shining through. I sure as hell hope that former TIFers and still alive and kicking.
  6. Different people have different priorities. Some people prioritize the pursuit of happiness over the pursuit of productiveness. (And of course for some people being productive makes them happy) And some of those people become happier when they play MMORPGs. If someone plays 10 hours a day and is happy with it, I see nothing wrong with that. I suppose I start seeing problems when it becomes something like "ohmy[bleep]inggod if I don't reach this goal by tomorrow I'm going to kill myself." I guess I'm kind of falling down that road though. I go outside maybe two or three times a week - the majority of the rest of my time is on my computer. And that reminds me, there's one thing in that article that I really don't like - it acts as if online games = MMORPGs. What happened to FPSs and strategy games in which you can play other people online? Both can have "educational value."
  7. How can you blame someone for something they can hardly control? I know I can't ever control when I cry, as much as I want. It just comes to you and it's really hard to control it. And why? Why hide your emotions? You say because it brings you shame? Why should it?
  8. Archery really isn't that hard to get good at. But mastering it, as in shooting an arrow straight into another arrow you just shot, from 30 yards away, probably would take more than 10000 hours. I saw it done on Extreme Marksman. Pretty crazy. Yea, I wasn't really thinking Olympic-level (which would still be hard, I'm sure)...I was thinking more like the example you gave - literally deadly accuracy.
  9. Archery. Because I can. Or hardanger fiddling.

I just had two and a half bowls of takeout fried rice. It definitely wasn't authentic Chinese food, but damn, it was good... :P

So I've decided to try roaming around with doomsday stories. Stuff about "the shadow" and "the end" approaching. [hide=A rather stupid example]Stranger: I love you. :3 You: I love you. Link doesn't work. You have a comma instead of a period. ;) I've had some...interesting conversations. It's kind of hard to tell if you're being trolled back though. (Okay, maybe not...)

I think a general rule of thumb (for public high schools/secondary schools) is that the further south you are, the earlier you start (but the earlier you get out). That means schools in Texas start in August, while schools in the UK and the northeast start in September. And I realized why no one is starting on my birthday - it's a [bleep]ing Sunday. #-o
  16. I don't think. I usually start with something - something that's in the forefront of my life. Something good, something bad - maybe someone And then that something reminds me of something else, and I start thinking about that. Then I think about something else related to that other something. It's like a chain reaction. I get distracted easily because of this. Though on occasion, I manage to focus.

We were in a similar situation last year (and probably will be this year). We're building a new building - I think I mentioned that - and it's ridiculously expensive, I think it's going to be the most expensive public high school in Massachusetts. Anyway, this meant we had to cut substitute teachers, but it really wasn't that bad. If your teacher wasn't there and they couldn't find a sub, you had to go to the cafeteria and sign in. Freshmen were supposed to stay in the cafe, but no actually did, most ran off. Whenever I had a cancelled class, I would go to the computer lab and play random games or even come on here. :P So for us, a cancelled class equaled a free block. And everyone loves free blocks. ;) I just realized I'm kind of excited that I'll have actual frees this year. The way my schedule used to be (before I had to add drafting and switch around a few other courses), on Tuesday I was going to be able to leave at 11:30, opposed to 2:30. : (I think I still have a free last block though, so at least I'll get out an hour early)

Duuuuuude why are you only 2 days older than me...? (Seriously, what's with all the people starting on each others' birthdays? I don't think anyone's said they're starting on mine yet though) I'm fine with being one of the youngest in my grade. It's a nice excuse for when you suck at things, and it makes bragging even better when you're good. The first day is really sneaking up on some of you, isn't it? It's going to sneak up on me too...But I have 3 weeks left.

Just come to England. We have some of the greatest cider ever; although we seem to have more of a reputation for those chavs who stand outside Mace drinking that White Lightning. The apple cider here in Boston is pretty good too, though it's New England so it's probably similar enough. I should probably add some of my cousins. Especially since one is going to college/uni (whatever it's called in Canada) closer to my home than his. Though I only added my sister two months ago. :-w Though I don't actually know my cousins well. The ones on my mom's side are all either 10 years older or younger than me (and speak only Chinese), while I don't see the ones on my dad's side enough. (Though they're about my age)

There's an interpretation of the "eye for an eye" statement I read somewhere...It's not for revenge, it's for justice. It's there to make sure there is punishment. Kings, slaves - if they commit the same crime, they'll get the same punishment. If a king kills someone, he'll be killed. If a slave kills someone, he'll be killed too. Both get punished. These people are no worse than any other torturers or murderers. Killing a baby is basically the same crime as killing an adult. So they should be given the same punishment. I suppose a few years is kind of light, but there really is no need to torture them. Oh, and I'm against capital punishment (and you guys don't have that in Britain, if I remember correctly?) so I wouldn't say to kill them either. I suppose I would support a life sentence.
  21. Nadril, I'm going to have to kind of disagree with you. Because at least RuneScape has a community. In most other F2P MMOs, you're never going to find that many people who aren't botting. Oh, and Travian is ok. Still alive and kicking a month after I started again. My alliance actually communicates though, that might be it. As for MapleStory, if I'm going to play a Nexon game I'm going with Combat Arms...
  22. I suppose Nintendo as well. Most of the crap on the Wii is third-party. Firaxis too, I guess. Though they only really have one series.
  23. I should be in college then. Perhaps some sort of chain reaction set off by my graduation will end in some awesome thing then. But I doubt it. And really, OT, really? [hide=No one has posted this?][yt]_eyFiClAzq8[/yt][/hide] Honestly. I'll feel fine. Hopefully.

On the topic of eating a [cabbage]load of meat, I suppose New England can't compete with the south when it comes to steak, but for burgers? Try Eagle's Deli. Quoted from the website:  (No, I've never done it)
  25. Are we talking about Civ4 or CivRev? If we're talking about Civ4, then no, don't play regular games - go look at some of the many, many mods out there. (Some are packaged with the game too) And if the time between turns is taking a while, that's because the computer is taking in all the AI's moves.
