Formula for EXP needed
It's algebra, and it's incorrect. The correct formula is, for level L: experience is floor[ sum of i from 1 to L-1 of floor (i + 300 * 2 ^ (i/7)) divided by 4 ] Or, in mathematical terms,

What does Runescape Lack out of a game?
There are some squirrels and raccoons running around by Falador. Swans in the lakes, and seagulls, puffins, etc. I'm sure they'll add more, just give them time.

Farest Possible Point From a Bank?
Hmm, there are quite a few places that come to mind. Does anyone want to count the spaces from the nearest bank, where every square you have to walk is one space, and any in-made teleports work. Stairs also count as one space. This is all really non-specific, so we should do it based on tens of spaces. From that, I would say the following are in the candidates: Drakan's castle, from the little village in Temple Trekking. The islands with Mahogany Trees in Mos'Le Harmless, from that bank. (All the cave horror caves, which are HUGE) The end of the monkey madness caves, from the gnome tree second floor.

- Discontinued Random Events
Well, some of us have been around for a while. I know I joined in 2002, and most people I know have joined around then, and remember when random events were introduced. What's my point, you ask? Well, most people know there are only a few different random events: The Maze, The Sandwich Lady, The Mysterious Old Man... But what about the events that used to exist, but then were discontinued? What about the ones that were deemed too evil to remain in-game? I was just reading the behind-the-scenes, and I read about one of the Random Events - Pious Pete. Do you all know what happened to him, and why the church he asks you to light up no longer needs lighting? Or how about the evil Tangle Vine? I know exactly why that one was killed - way too many complaints, and with good reason. The greedy vine ate everyone who moved - humans and monsters alike. The last one is Dr. Ford, who I have never encountered, but was probably too graphic for Jagex to continue. Getting hit by a chunk of rock? Ow! So, as the discussion, does anyone feel that any other Random Events should be retired? Has the Drunken Dwarf given you one kebab too many? Have you decided that the Certers outlived their use... once again?- BarrelChest Anchor Versus Rune Defender / Dragon Scimi :O
The reason you're comparing it to both scimmy and defender is because the anchor is two-handed.- 6 March 2007 - Great Brain Robbery
Well, you can train strength with it. In general, you will need: - Blessed Holy Symbol - Diving Gear - 4 + 10 + 4 planks. - 10 bear fur. - at least 30 nails, but I used about 60. - Hammer - Good Melee Armor and Weapon Downstairs from the place you get teleported to.- 6 March 2007 - Great Brain Robbery
I wore rune, he barely hit, so I'd say not magic. Slightly slower than whip, but not much more so.- 6 March 2007 - Great Brain Robbery
Smith, who's on the deck by Bill Teach's Boat on Mos'Le.- 6 March 2007 - Great Brain Robbery
50k to repair, two handed weapon. Untradeable.' EDIT: Has a special attack, and since it's crush damage, it hits incredibly well. You can even train strength with it!- 6 March 2007 - Great Brain Robbery
You need 10 cats total. The final boss is easy, he hits high but has low hp.- 6 March 2007 - Great Brain Robbery
About to fight final battle, after this update.- 6 March 2007 - Great Brain Robbery
Buy umstrung symbol from ardy silver stall, ball of wall fro mardy general store and use holy book to bless it... I know. I'm just saying that it's needed for the quest. I'm not that stupid, you know. You also need at least one, maybe up to 6 bear furs and 10 normal planks.- 6 March 2007 - Great Brain Robbery
Need blessed symbol of Saradomin.- Why is "safing" bad?
If there is a code of ethics, it's unofficial, and as such, non-enforceable. If the two of you agree not to "safe," "tele," or what have you before the fight, then sure, it's a rule of honor, etc. If you see a random person and attack them, then insult them for surviving, where's the honor in that? Especially if they're not even there to PK.- Item db Suggestion: Live Now
If you do this, make sure to add three options: Stackable, Unstackable, and Unstackable in Bank. So far, only the Satchels and Flasks are unstackable in bank, but Mod Ash was hinting there would be more.- The Tower of Life - February 19
If you're saying FMA, I say that probably not. You do realize alchemy attempts were recorded in history, right?- Party Hats - The Only Tradeable Skillcape?
145,000 willows at 30 each is 4,350,000 gold. 2,900 willows, 4,700 yew, and 39,000 magics at your prices is around 40M gold. This comes out to 46,600 logs. Assuming each log takes the same amount of time to burn (It takes the same amount of time to light 27 willows as it does 27 magics), then it takes 3.11 times more time to burn the willows. So if a trip of logs takes 1 minute (Exact numbers don't matter.), then it would take about 3.11 trips to get the same amount of experience with willows as with higher logs. What I have just said did not yet bring opportunity cost, or what you could have earned in the time saved by using the more expensive option. If you take the figure, and take the inverse, you find out that using the most expensive logs only shaves about 67 percent off of the total time. So if burning willows takes 5370 minutes (About one minute per inventory), then it would take about 1700 minutes to do it the more expensive way. Given those arbitrary figures, it is easy to figure out opportunity cost. If you spend the extra (5370-1700) = 3670 minutes to do the cheaper way, you are saving 36 million gp. In that amount of time, which is roughly equal to 62 hours, you need to make about 550k gp per hour, every hour, in order to justify using the more expensive way. Of course, many high level merchants can afford that, and make much more than that per hour, but without playing the market, many skillers do not make that much per hour, even if nature runecrafting. EDIT: If it takes longer than a minute to burn an inventory of logs, then obviously the opportunity cost is greater, meaning that you would need to make less per hour to afford the change. If it takes less than a minute, then the greater expense is less worth it.- would you feel save if......
Yes. Nobody uses my computer but me. If I get "hacked," I have nobody but myself to blame.- Party Hats - The Only Tradeable Skillcape?
I know a lot of people who just buy the 140,000 willows necessary for 99, and only lose 4M doing so.
