  1. One could argue that would make the situation worse.
  2. Turned 20 today.

All I can recommend is being creative and fun with the lesson...All my teachers in school were boring except a few, and that's probably why I hated school so much. Teacher's are taught to feed stupid information into our brains (aka force it) and not actually teach us anything. Most people don't learn by being forced information. I'd say doing things like using gestures to describe things (like an asteroid hitting the Earth for example) and making jokes of some sort...Unless you're not funny by nature, then they'll think you're a dork. :P Goodluck...If teachers made more money, I'd probably do it myself...But teachers around here haven't set a good example for me, they're all like...A step above hobo's. :P Edit: Talking about the mass descruction of an asteroid hitting Earth is probably good too. Kids like destruction! And don't forget to mention the asteroid that has a 1:300 (currently) chance of hitting Earth in 2036 or whatever. :P Scaring people is fun too.
  4. It's Mercaptan, the odor additive in natural gas so people can smell it. It may or may not be a gas leak, and it may or may not just be a Mercaptan leak. Nothing to worry about. It's quite obvious the government has done a good job scaring the holy hell out of people, though. I've heard on CNN several times now that people were afraid to go into Manhatten because they thought it was a terrorist attack. Yea, terrorists love to attack with non-deadly things. Those pranksters.
  5. Yea, you just need a new gfx card. Umm...When I went to start playing WoW (2 yrs ago, lawl :P) I bought a Radeon 9500 for like $60. There are probably better AGP cards out there now for the same price, but mine still runs WoW very well. I only lag for the first 10-15 seconds when entering a major city. I also bought 256 more mb of RAM, though, upping my computer to 700-something mb. I need a new 'puter. :(
  6. I'm under the impression that it sure didn't help. The last 6+ years here in Minnesota, there hasn't been any snow at all. We'll get a good 4 inches one time and it'll melt...I haven't gone snow boarding in at least 4 years, lol. Bought a $500 board and still have yet to even use it...
  7. Great plan. Now all you have to do is defy the laws of physics and raise a few billion dollars for expenses to build it! You're almost .5% done! :P
  8. Natural selection is a load of bolognie. :wall: People prove it every single day of exsistence. The stupid generally kill themselves off in some moronic fashion these days, rather than not being able to reproduce...Alcohol has solved that.
  9. I've done a lot of research on the subject, because it was originally a career choice of mine aswell, but now I totally dropped that idea. There is still some part of me that WISHES, but I know it isn't worth it. Typically, entry-level, you should expect to be working for peanuts, with sweat-shop factory hours. No joke. :P Don't read "professional" opinions, they're BS. Read REAL people's stories. I believe most that I read, a majority were making under $30k per year starting ($23k being the lowest I read) and working 12 hours days, 7 days a week. After 3 years, if you can make it without getting canned, you'll start making money worth 12 hours/day, but you'll still be working 12 hour days, so that won't really matter. Plus you have to consider all the no-talent kiddies you'll have to fight through for a job. It's probably the most popular career choice on the planet, so it's hard to get a job. "Placement" only means something if you're going to a very prestegious school like DigiPen. I've never even heard of Full Sail, so I can't say how prestegious it is considered...However, I can tell you DigiPen graduates never go jobless, plus you'll be used to the long hours...DigiPen students have to take tons of math, prgramming, animation and some physics classes. Crazy stuff.
  10. I call BS. Toddler's teeth are extremely sensitive...My aunt let my cousin drink coke out of her baby bottle (idiot...) almost from day one, and her front teeth started to rot out by the time she was 4. Luckily they were baby teeth, so it didn't really matter. Besides, it takes longer than 15 years. You're not even grown yet. I'd be more worried about High Fructose Corn Syrup myself, but that's also in EVERYTHING on Earth, so...

... Serriously, your saying that being able to smack someone in melee with a weapon redefined gaming? :? . There is a reason they have no reason to say WHY it revolutionized gaming. 'Cause it didn't! "Revolutionizing gaming" is thrown around too damn much by people. And some developers alike. Remember when Peter Molyneux said Fable would be the game to end all games? Was he right? Heeeeeeeeell no, and noone let him forget how badly he failed. I liked Fable, but it certainly did not end all games...Personally, I just bought Black & White 2 (made by Lionhead aswell), and that game is more entertaining than Fable. :P Lucky for Molyneux, most people are actually impressed by what they've seen in Fable 2. Dynamic areas that can be used while fighting n' stuff...It's shaping up to be pretty cool, but there isn't too much information yet. If someone likes a game, they'll say it revolutionized gaming. *Shrug* Probably because it revolutionized how THEY play certain games. Like I said before, there are so few games that can ever claim to have revolutionized gaming, or even come close, and Halo isn't one of them. :P Still waiting for Spore... :-w
  12. Any reason you're not trying to get into Digipen? I dunno' anything about FUll Sail, but you said it's expensive...So if you're going to spend the money, I'm just curious why you wouldn't go to Digipen. :P
  13. Yea, I don't see why the hell Blu-Ray is being shoved on us...It seems to me that people liked DVD's because they used a popular medium that had been used for music - CD's. It allowed them to not have to rewind, fast-forward, that kinda' crap. I don't think a lot of people really care about Blu-Ray, lol. Plus, aren't the players like $1,000 right now? Psht.
  14. Did Darkmage just seriously say I'd be an "America-lover"? ...I seriously wish to know where THAT came from.
  15. Sim games were probably the ones I logged the most time on. Spore will probably be my favourite game of all time once I get my hands on it.

Hi, you must be either: [*:3c0a6kdk]New to the internet. [*:3c0a6kdk]13 year old. Or C, which is most likely: [*:3c0a6kdk]All of the above. . He perfectly sums up a large portion of the fan base for halo. Which is why we get a bad rep. At least 75% of the players are [developmentally delayed] 3 -year-olds that think they're amazing at life because they do nothing but play Halo all day. Not ALL of us are like that though, thank God. Also, it isn't really fair to be comparing Gears of War to Halo, they have different concepts. Halo = run 'n' gun, Gears of War = duck 'n' cover. It's absolutely fair to compare them. They're both FPS's. Same Genre. Though I believe most game review sites catagorize Halo as a "Shooter" and GoW as a "Tacticle Shooter", but whatever. Just because GoW spanks Halo doesn't mean it's out of Halo's genre...It means Halo is outdated. Run n' Gun games are days of the past, hopefully, because they're really not fun once you play something like GoW. ...And Halo fanboys were Counterstrike players before Halo. :P
  17. So you would give up any sense of pride and respect for yourself, to get $10,000? It's just an elephants butt. I'd do it too. It'd be totally disgusting, but you'd make $10,000...And that would make it all better!

I haven't heard/seen much about GoW so I can't really comment on it, My brother played it for about an hour and I don't think he's touched it since. I don't think it looked like anything more than some pretty graphics.. He's a noob @ games. :P The only thing bad about GoW was that the Roadie Run and Ducking behind cover had the same button (A), so when you did a Roadie Run too close to a wall, you'd duck and cover instead of running.

Your sig looks promising. Looks like what happens to you if you smoke. Or you know, it's just Stubbs the Zombie.

I haven't heard/seen much about GoW so I can't really comment on it, but IMO the game that revolutionized FPS's was half life and half life 2. Half life for being one of the first to bring a story oriented game into the FPS world, and half life 2 for perfecting that. I agree with you on the GTA/Sim city deal, at least with GTA because it really opened up the open ended genre of games. This year, however, I really haven't seen any games worthy or good enough to revolutionize gaming, most of the games out this year were kinda meh. Well, I haven't played Half-Life beyond the HL2 beta a long time ago (:P), but I can say that it's certainly not too revolutionary either. GarysMod for HL2 made HL2 a lot more fun lookin', though. :P I will give HL2 a lot of credit for the physics it has, since in GarysMod, you can strap together a buncha' items and make a rocket...Very cool. To me - and I don't see how there's any other definition - redefining gaming means making a game that just blows everything else around it out of the water and makes it look boring and oldschool. Gears of War's fighting system made other FPS's look just that; boring and old. When playing it, it felt like I was really in a battle...You have to duck and cover, or you're a goner. It's really fast paced, too. You have to duck and cover AND kill semi-fast or you'll get flanked and die. If there is a Locust at a stationary machine gun, you can't hit him unless you flank him or chuck a grenade at him, which was really fun. Halo's AI was alright...Meaning the baddies would actually hide from you instead of just standing there. But GoW even took that a step up...Locusts will hide AND try to flank your position, working together in groups to take you down. They fail if you're good, but they try. :P Edit: And yea, there weren't a ton of awesome games this year. NEXT year is going to be the year. As in 2007...Tomorrow. :P Spore is one of the most anticipated games of the year, and they'll sell like hot cakes if they start releasing more information on it. People are already hooked, but it seems people forget about it in the midst of Halo-GoW-MMO-this-and-that talk all day long. Everytime they release a new gameplay video, people FREAK over it. :P Personally, I'll be buying a new computer sometime this year just so I can play it. Supreme Commander is also another reason to buy a new computer for me. Assassin's Creed is what'll finally get me a 360... I just can't wait for 2007. :P And let us not forget GTA4. If I don't have a 360 by the time that comes out, I'll surely have one when that game hits shelves.

I don't understand how people can smoke. In a fire, smoke inhilation will kill everyone before fire ever gets the chance. That alone tells me smoking isn't good. :P
  22. Jim Carrey in... Know It All. I can see it now. Sorry, just seemed like a Jim Carrey movie. :P
  23. Dark Rick. Obviously a scary villian name.

Don't worry too much about it. You got off easy. :P Some old fart hit my car and totalled it back in October, and his insurance company denied my claim saying it was more than 50% my fault (there were no street signs, I had the right of way, and he hit me when I was 3/4 through the intersection...do the math on THAT one!), so they're not paying me jack. Soooo...I haven't had a car now for a few months. :P Lame. Now I have to play tag with my lawyer and State Farm Insurance, paying him $180 per letter he sends them threatening to sue. I still have yet to receive a letter from those idiots, but trust me, I'll get my money. There's no way they'd go to court with it (98% of cases never do!), and even if they did, I would destroy them MYSELF without a lawyer present, that's how obvious my case is, lol.
  25. Actually, my mom said, "See you tomorrow!" before she went to bed, sooo... Someone DID promise me tomorrow!
