  1. Because Jagex Logic. I hope it leads to an increase in magic tier damage (but really they should just fix magic so that isn't an issue).
  2. Rune staying the highest doesn't scale in the long term. EDIT: I would be interested in an MMO where the smithable gear actually scales over time, so that at first rune takes 99, but then later on that goes down as more people master the technique and teach it to other smithers, and then a new type of armor is invented and becomes the top tier smithable armor. That could work fairly well.

  4. I don't have a screenshot, but I've seen a jadinko get trapped that didn't have one directly behind it, and I recall happening at least once when there was only one trap up. Regardless of whether I recall correct, it definitely can cause issues if you don't pull traps down as fast as possible.
  5. Jadinkos are actually broken because they can be attracted to traps which already have things caught so your rate of catching actually goes down even *more* if you don't open traps instantly, which I think factors even more into using gemeos' methods to avoid loss of ticks. (Becuase every loss of a tick is one more tick a jadinko could be stuck). You also can lose out if your traps are badly located because once a jadinko moves it can be hard to get them attracted to the spot again (much like defenders in Barbarian Assault).
  6. That doesn't take much time lost overall though.. I see where I lose out.. makes sense now. There is also correct ordering of traps because you can get a jadinko stuck on a trap that is up if two get caught at once.. Thanks for the explanation Gemeos :) Good to learn new things.
  7. That's about what I got plus the 5% for yaktwee stick. Granted it's different @ lvl 99 vs up to it, but I can't really believe it would be 100k/hr more... Ofcourse There are optimal times, and perfect clicking and never messing up a single flower trap, as well as knowing which ones to get, and being in the absolutely correct spot. I suppose it's maybe possible.. But I recall the average being 220k a while ago so unless something else changed too? I am just confused...
  8. I disagree. Word meanings can change. This clearly happens all the time. However, he has a point that the reason particular words are chosen and changed is because of their previous/old definition. We take a word and change it to an insult. The particular word that is picked usually has some particular reason or meaning for why we would pick that word. (ex, it is ironic, or sarcastic, or there is some inside joke, it sounds similar etc). The reverse is also true. We might "say" that use of a word among friends doesn't have particular meaning, but the very reason we chose the word in the first place is because it has that meaning and while we may understand that we are doing something in a joking fashion, that doesn't mean ignoring the origins. I don't believe this is healthy practice, as there are better ways to communicate and express among friends. I don't particularly want to be friends with people who joke-insult each other all the time. But apparently many people (act like they) are ok with this. Now, I don't necessarily believe that it means Jagex should censor (I believe they should filter optionally) but they have ownership and thus right to do what they want with their property.
  9. We are not jagex developers and we cannot always know what they intend. I feel like obvious issues such as item duplication and free xp etc are definitely wrong. Mechanics for a boss are a lot more gray area.
  10. Guess I just really suck.. That means you have to be catching about 84 per juju dose.. I was barely getting 63.. And yes, I have yaktwee stick, zammy and scentless, and the familiar.. in the right location I believe.. Oh well.
  11. I don't think they go that high, and for sure the average rate isn't that high once you count time to stock on potions. I know my average for hunter was no more than 220k. But either way, if it was that high it makes hunter challenge even less valuable.
  12. It is the highest xp/hr challenge, because you can complete it in a very short time if you do a c6 small. Even using my times, which are not really great, 3minutes for a c6 small, plus maybe 30 seconds to a minute of setup time to actually get there and go.. That means I gain 130k XP + floor xp (depending on floor anywhere from 10k-20k, as I don't do repeats) so about 140k (and that's not even at 120!) that is upwards of 2.5m xp/hr and it only gets higher as you get higher prestige and lvl (each level up increases xp reward as well) So for sure it's the highest xp/hr, and probably highest gain. Most of the other challenges don't give you that much.. thieving is like 10 minutes for 70k+xp but you have to do dwarf traders, and it's not consistent. You don't always get the same challenge. Sure the slow skills "might" be better.. but you have to do the bad challenges, like Dorgeshuan Agility.. I rarely got the challenge for doing the high level course. Now, YOU might decide that you would rather get bonus xp in something else, because you find DG fun and therefor easier to do. But we can just look at time saved. Assuming DG is 600k an hour, the 150k bonus xp saves you about 15 minutes, but it costs you about 3 minutes. so a net gain of 12 minutes saved. I don't have the times for agility but I do for hunter. Hunter challenge is 63 jadinkos of any kind. Assuming you're already setup, you can do draconics with all the bonus potions. I did this in just under 10 minutes. that's 37k xp from the draconics less a few commons. I earned 42k for the challenge. Hunter is aproximately 200k.. so the xp earned takes 23 minutes of regular hunter average. In addition, it cost me 10 minutes of time maybe 11 if you count setup time. That means only 12 minutes saved like DG. However, hunter XP can go as high as 220k (if you are excellent) and that means only 10 minutes saved overall. In addition, DG depends heavily on good teammates, which not everyone can or is willing to get. That means DG effective xp rate can go down (for example if you solo, or have bad teams, or just unlucky floors). In addition, I counted doing the worst possible floor size (small) which takes the least time but if you were already going to do a proper dungeon you lose even "less". DG also gets more xp as you go up from 99->120, so the xp rates I used for the challenge actually go up a little bit making it even more efficient. Basically, I setup the numbers to be as best in hunter's favor as I could and it still isn't enough to make it better than DG.
  13. I would replace them if you get a better captain (or chance at a better captain). If I recall, (been a while since I rolled crew...) you can't actually see the traits before hiring so you clearly already bought the captain. If you already have it, definitely start replacing them with other 10k captains once you have no 2500< captains left. A 10k captain with bad traits is probably better than 2500 captain with good traits.
  14. Somewhat interesting. I will enjoy seeing how they manage the "story tree" concept of splitting off fundamentally differently for each player as they make choices.. That is usually difficult to manage yet still give realism to the player choices.
  15. Top players tend towards AFK style methods because it makes it a lot less likely they will burn out. Doing high focus, high apm, repetitive actions over and over can easily burn (most, there have been exceptions) people out, and if you want to play for the amount of hours required it definitely helps to do AFK things.
  16. Most of the time, we won't notice a lot of the missing stuff, because it wasn't circulating.. If the items are not circulating they are "effectively" removed already.. I don't think the loss of GP will have a significant impact, but it could have an impact via people theorizing what will happen.
  17. Can't think of many businesses who aren't profit oriented. Doing this in fun jest, but have you thought about any non-for profit organizations? Also, he did say many businesses, meaning that he left it open for there being a small number.
  18. The "HTML5" thing is just being able to see the boss zoomed out in full glory, I believe... That was the impression I got (that the boss would look best that way)
  19. I need something like 17 more scrolls.. they're really taking a while because I keep missing days...
  20. The mouse for abilities doesn't really work as well as you might like.. but definitely great for handling inventory and similar interface swapping. I think it will be quite nice on NIS.
  21. Charter-boat from port sarim...
  22. Canfis is included also.
  23. I assume function keys being reserved is probably due to complications... They tend to be much less simple to control than other keys..
  24. I'd prefer for them to add lodestones but require some sort of additional "charge" requirement or miniquest to unlock them. Canfis really does need one, especially as most of the teleports there are for higher end quests. I want this so bad. To be honest, I wouldn't mind a miniature world map which showed all the teleports we could access with current gear much like lodestones do... (with a little minimap) But I think there are so many it would just get confusing lol. Either way, I am ok with more lodestones, especially since you still have to travel to them the first time. They do sort of ruin the atmosphere but it certainly opens up a lot more areas for more content..
  25. Not to mention falling down a million times.
