The community is definitely overreacting to this, I am quite convinced that the economy will not suffer because of the gp generated by the boots, if anything the economy will be messed up by people starting to hoard items thinking they will raise. This doesn't stop making the update stupid though.

I mean this is a decent update, you got an interesting quest, awesome patch notes(fixed deflect), the new spells looks really good. Then comes the climbing boots. Herp Derp

Here is what is going to happen to climbing boots. Everybody will sell them to the shop or high alch them because nobody would buy them on GE. The GE price will drop to around 40k(the shop/alch price), supply of boots will be nonexistent, people with tons of boots gets rich, everybody is happy and we shall sit on the rooftop watching a rainbow made of love.

I think the point of the update was to make something that pkers were using as footwear and cost almost nothing now have a value to them and so loosing a pair causes you to loose 70k worth of value which will over time act a money sink. The increase in wealth is only temporary. Think long term so maybe in the short term 700bil was created you can only get at best 60% of that value minus the cost of the natures runes and once that money is gained it cant be gotten again and if that player wants to get another pair they must pay out 75k so over time this change will act as a money sink.... Fact is, NOBODY is going to use them now.

I mean I kinda see where they are getting at, just make the GE price to the market price of the items. Like make party hats/shields to their true market price so they will be buyable in GE. But then again, the majority of the people who have them were trying to use them instead of selling. I call this update an absolute and total failure of a scale so epic that not even Michael Bay can make a movie out of this. EDIT: Speaking of failures, where is MHL?

Ok, I am gonna say it right now that my economic knowledge only extends to Micro 101 and Macro 101, but even I can see how messed up this can be.

Well...Mark is kinda right, most people have like 10 pairs of them max, I have about 20 pairs of them because of my clan. But the economic damage that will be done just with the pker's boots is...unimaginable.

I don't actually think there will be a rollback simply because it is much easier to fix items than exp. Jagex has stated they cannot decrease exp of people's accounts, that is why they did a rollback like 2 minutes after the rc glitch, I believe(and hope) they can do something without do a rollback because it is like what...2 hours after the update?

Bloody hell, here I was thinking "YES THEY FIXED DEFLECT BEST UPDATE EVER" and did a large dungeon in celebration. Then comes the facepalm. I hope they can hot fix it without rollback >.>, I mean I will understand it if it is the only choice, but I still want to strangle a small furry woodland animal for wasting 1 hour of my life.

Adjusted the curse deflect animations to be faster. This was an animation issue only; running/walking is still the same with or without curses active. WHERE IS THE BLOODY BISON YES YES VIDEO WHEN YOU NEED IT?@@@@@@

My proudest moment of my life is also the one which I got the most trouble in. So I was in third grade(around that age) in China. One day the teachers planned a field trip just for our class, and our destination is the movie theatre. However I was getting fed up with watching boring movies(all they had back then was like really bad movies about the civil war in China about how communists kicked everyone's asses etc etc, it gets boring after awhile.) So I decided to sneak out of the movie theatre along with 5 of my friends and walk home while play some arcade games along the way. It worked out like a charm, all we had to do just to pretend to go to the bathroom at the same time(now I thought about it, it was stupid as hell, teachers were distracted by the movie though), and we crawled out of the movie theatre. Of course the teachers freaked out when they found out 5 of their kids are missing. Good thing is that they didn't call the cops because the other kids saw us and told them, bad thing is we still got in trouble for it, most awesome thing is my family just laughed about it. And that is all.

I would like to take MHL somewhat seriously as I kinda agree with what she says. But after she establishes herself as a troll, I just ignored all of her posts. I am going to ask that why do you think Jagex should stop focusing on gameplay? I mean...lore is nice and all but gameplay is where the content is at really.

Again, bad assumpation there, you are quitting before making an effort. How can you say nothing can be changed when NOTHING HAS BEEN DONE? Also no, the point of RS clans is not to feel superior, the point is to have FUN. Now winning is only a part of it, meet some great people and playing together is part of having fun as well. Are you really telling me that winning is the only thing left in warring? What happened to simply HAVING a great fight? Now of course most people would want to feel superior, I mean there is nothing wrong with trying to win, online games included. But it is wrong to cheat by Ddos other players just to secure a win. Are you really telling me that people actually applaud the when a clan use Ddos to win? Do you really think people will care if you win when you cheated? Now from the reading RSC I can assume that a significant amount of players are apathic towards rule breaking, but few, if any actually openly supported the use of Ddos. This is a fact you cannot deny, people does not care if you win or not when you cheat. Clans who cheat receive no feeling of superiority when nobody acknowledges the win. Therefore there really is no point to Ddos. Policing the entire clan world is absolutely not insane. Why would you think so? Because it is hard? Just because it is hard does not mean it is neccessary. Even if you have no moral standard at all, then think about why every so often a thread pops up on why the clan world is dying and where is the fresh blood? Where do you think they went? Do you really think a player who wants to try out clan will join when so much crap is happening? If the clan world wants some fresh blood, then start clearing up your act instead of keep recycling the scum bags that are ruining the clan world. Also why do you think clans like TT refuse to post on RSC? To avoid dealing with these things of course. Terrorism is actually no as effective as you think, 9/11 brought America together, it is guerrilla warfare that is effective. Using nuclear warfare as an example is a big mistake you have just made too, are you honestly saying that creating nukes is fine because the end justify the means? "I get to controll the world because I can kill everyone who oppose me." Then what is left to rule? The point of destorying nukes is not just because of moral standards, not only it destorys the environment if it is any accident happens. They are very expensive to maintain and I really would not consider killing potential millions of people as a "moral standard". Lastly, whether you like it or not, there is a moral standard on the internet, well except for maybe 4chan. If you treat people nice, they will behave nicely back, it is a rule of human behavior. Do you really think acting like an arse on the internet will be better? What POSSIBLE gain is there from being an arse? World wide recognition as an ass? On the other hand, if you behave nicely, you will be liked(I am sure you can pull the I don't care attituide, but I am sure you would prefer to be treated nicely than treated horribly.) TL;DR: People LIKE to be treated nicely, serious actions needed to clean up the clan world and bringing in fresh blood. A general rule of honor and respect is IMPORTANT. Seriousy, the clan world went from "no flaming" to "Is ok to Ddos", what the hell is next? Lets hack RS accounts to win wars? The end does not justify the means, following your logic then bots and macroing is fine and everybody should do it because the end justify the means.

But when you have members who would go to a player's facebook and photoshop the pictures while post it over the internet. That is no different from cyber bullying, which is a crime in itself. Keep your virtual life separate from your real life. Also are you really going to keep people who Ddos just because you are afraid they will somehow retaliate? What happened to rules and honor? Crime and punishment? You are going to let players slide just because you are afraid? What kind of a clan leader are you? Perhaps this cannot be controlled, maybe the clan world will always be a mess. But it does not mean we cannot TRY. Making an effort is a HUGE step in cleaning the community, if everybody is going to sit there and say "oh man this can never be fixed." Then absolutely nothing can be done after. Just putting it out there, but it's harder to see from your perspective. Sure it looks promising, but if you're within the mess of things you'll see how it can't be changed. If people don't care, they'll continue not to care. Of course there are limits and regulations on how far you can go, but really if you take things all the way clearly you wouldn't care about any punishments that a gaming clan can give you. Bad assumpation there, why do people not care? Because very minimum effort has been made trying to stop this. If clan leaders are willing to punish(kick the person out of the clan for example), then people will think twice about it. Furthur more I am sure we can agree that this kind of thing is WRONG and therefore there they SHOULD be stopped. Now whether or not this can be stopped is another question entirely, but it does not mean it is IMPOSSIBLE. Go for the extremes if you think it is required. Ban and blacklist everybody who has Ddos etc and give a warning beforehand. If the majority of clans are willing to do this, then at least some of the harrassment go stop. Hell the clan world can submitt the names of the players to Jagex in the clan leaders forum if it is needed. TL;DR: Make an effort, then tell everyone how the clan world has failed themselves. Only then are the excuses justified.

Having a low level restricts your ability to tank, this is a fact. A max combat players will take more punishment than a lower level tank. However combat means absolutely very little if you do not know how to tank. The knowledge is a very important aspect of tanking as well. A player need both of those to succeed, of course you CAN tank if you know how to, but you will never be as good as the tanks who knows what they are doing and have max def/prayer/magic. It is just statistics.

I know that the rapier would probably be the best weapon all around, but I am just not used to having to fight with a toothpick. :) Also yes I know both weapons are going to be extremely powerful in both situations, I can switch offense to defense in one combat round with CLS while CMaul would deal extremely high burst damage to a target while lack defense. Now of course if you are playing things like clan wars(I am talking serious clan wars with actual clans), defense is as important as offense. But I am just wondering if the massive bonus from Maul would compensate for that. Also in causal safe pvp like soul wars, would the longsword outperform the maul so much that it would greatly hinder the player who use the maul?
