  1. I saw that video, it was a leak and I am afraid it would give people a bad first impression. So could you take it down? :s Things to note Devs turned on godmode so NPC cannot see you The annoying glow can be turned off Dev is critting on the NPCs and therefore the big numbers. Also no it does not look like WoW at all. Also dodge roll is confirmed, it is not a skill, it is just a button press. Kind of like in fps games.

  7. [hide] But you can see your healthbar go up when you eat so that really is a poor argument to use. I would not be satisfied without a toggle or a compromise of some sort. Keep it out of all PvP situations and boss monsters (or anything 1.5x your combat level), for instance. Also, the point of having "work in progress" written on the pictures is to obtain feedback, which is what I'm giving. My so-called "rants" are feedback of what I thought of the Dev Blog as well as a related poll from a month or so ago. About the healsplats showing over hits (that they should not), that is one of the compromises I already suggested in a previous post of mine. It happens at Dung all the time which is why I bring it up... Um... wrong dude. Your health bar does not update unless you take actual damage. The healsplats are for the benefit of your attacker, and teammates who would rather cast a heal than bless your grave if you start lagging bad. As for overcrowding on the hitsplats... looks like as of this time that has not even been addressed, as these pictures are of a greater demon, one of the tallest creatures out there. Give it some time, and of course watch out for double team claws because I find those hilarious. Let me fix that. Again, as long as HITsplats are guaranteed to show over healsplats, I can live with it (hell, a toggle would be a God-send). There are only four spots available for hit/heal splats on any given player or NPC (regardless of how tall the NPC is). As with my first example, Claws (which when using the spec will leave four splats), can theoretically hit really high on the first hit, but fail the next three (as an example). If you eat when that happens, the blob of purple covers the first (in this case massive) hit, you don't eat next round of combat, and boom KO. GF 50m in gear. Thanks for telling me how much a shark heals, Jagex :thumbup:. I don't appreciate my $280 from the last 4.67 years going to an unneeded, useless, and potentially harmful update (inb4wbm). Like I said before, I'm not going to quit because of it, but I will be angry. I'm still here after that incredibly useful Constitution "update" amirite?   8. It may be a must for you but on a true rushing team it would be frowned upon. That is why Jagex needs to fix the mage's rune thing >.>
  9. Here is the interesting part, I don't think it is going to be cramped. The old style has splats formed in a weird circle kind of thing, but the new seems just to appearp from top to bottom(or bottom to top), considering the fact the icon is to the left of the damage splat, it will not appear to be too cramped. The icon is easier to remember as well, I would definitely prefer icon to colors if this is released.

  11. They just have to change the color to be more noticeable, maybe yellow or teal? The splat in the picture looks like a rectangle with fuzzy edges, is like a piece of carpet or something. No worries, as long as you are not outright insulting I am fine with comments. I am a gamer, same as you. Why should Jagex cater to its existing customers and stop expanding its market? It is not even like this update is a big deal anyway and I am certainly not going to back playing normally just because of this, but I like it(somewhat), and I guess you do not, why is it a problem? Why can't I, as a potential customer, like something if an existing customer does not? Is there a conflict of interest here or something? His quote is very exaggerated anyway, in no way was the hitting splat a huge success, it is just a game feature that has being there forever and they are thinking about updating it. EDIT: I did a quick count, about 5 existing member are liking the update, about 3 people are meh, and 4 are not liking it. So it is not just Dan and I.
  12. I agree with the last part, I am not too big on the damage splats, I wish they would just get rid of the splat background and leave just the numbers there like other mmos. Looks more pleasing in my opinion.
  13. Was that a posh way of saying that this update seems to be aimed at those who do not play the game? Well, I would find that statement purely wrong. All of the changes were given reasons which have been highlighted by actual players, and over the years have been noted by most people. I see this much like the rest and agility updates. It will take a while go get used to, but even though it will actually change very little, it will improve the game a lot. Also, what spell is being used in picture 1? Water spell I agree with Dan on this one,I really really dislike people complaining about how adding effects to attacks etc makes it more like wow. In fact the style is actually more like Guild Wars here. In Guild Wars every time damage pops up there is an icon on the left side to tell you what skill did that damage. In wow it is just a number without the icon.
  14. I am more of meh on this, I don't really care that much about who hit that 700 on bandos. I guess telling players what kind of damage they are been inflicted with does give Jagex the opportunity to make harder bosses maybe? People are going to rage so hard if they remove 0 though. I am meh on that as well as I simply do not care enough(because it is not a core game mechanic.)

Prayer potions are very important during this battle as the guardian can drain your prayer and heal itself during the battle. ^That tip is counter-intuitive, if you drink the pot the knight will heal even MORE off you. It has being suggested to drain all your prayers before fighting the guardian. The crewbies might want to change that, unless there is something I do not know.
  16. Cbow with diamond(e) It is possible to hide behind a pillar, run out and let him hit you once, run back and shoot him, run out and let him hit you once and repeat. Melee prayer helps here.
  17. I am sure they stated somewhere that average computers will be handle it. Guild Wars one has amazing graphics and my crappy 5 year old computer can run it quite well.

  20. oh what i would do for an item that would let us left click *all* monsters... People keep talking about some kind of shadow cloak, hopefully something that would hide you from radar, or cloak you somehow from certain NPCs. A stealth item would be cool. Maybe it would remove your dot from the minimap....or people cannot see you until you take/deal damage. The tactic this can bring to the p2p wars.
  21. I went in there with bandos and whip, afked, come back in a minute and he was dead, easy one. I drained all my prayers before going in though.
