  1. Possibly the enlightenment aura? Double the xp = half the charms.
  2. So I know xpx says to have 212 MCS Captains, one Seafaring captain with 4x multi-talented, but what traits should the other caps have? +100 or +1% to their respective stat?
  3. I didn't like the mechanics of the fights or the quest in general. I also really didn't like the graphical change to Zanik/Yelps... just... ugh. I liked the lore insight (god, I wasn't sure how I felt about Bandos before, but now? [bleep]ing hate the guy.), and I liked that we got to talk a bit with Bork. I really do wonder why he was well-spoken...
  4. I think that's specific to Revolution; if you do full-manual it shouldn't be an issue. In other news, time to panicsell saradomin swords. Superior kyzaj has a higher prayer bonus and otherwise equivalent stats.
  5. Yeah, presumably he'd be doing farm runs as much as possible and just filling the time in between with livid/vinesweeper.
  6. It really just boils down to the player's motives and values. If they value esteem, prestige, recognition, envy, etc. then they will refuse donations and handicap themselves by training less efficiently. If they value accomplishing a goal or being the best, then they will choose the smartest, best options to do so, without having to worry about how others may perceive them. Regardless of which choice they choose, they will be flamed for not choosing the other path by the people who chose differently. I still don't really understand why accepting donations means you lose prestige/recognition/respect/etc, but meh.
  7. I think I agree that Jagex should take a harder stance on these minigame multiloggers, but also try to revitalize the minigames by increasing their rewards or implementing that "minigame spotlight" that I wish had won the poll it was in. Neither would solve the issue on its own, but together it would make a significant impact.
  8. Silverhawk boots were rather different because they took a non-buyable skill and made it into a buyable skill. And no, 30bil isn't a skill, because xp has never been tradable the way gp is. I can't just decide to give someone 100k wc xp, but I can give someone 100k gp. I can see why if you think of it in that way you'd be upset, but then it's your own fault for thinking of 30bil as a skill when it's quite different. And even if you think of it as a skill, there's a vast and diverse range of "training methods" for it, and it's difficult to justify being angry at a competitor for taking a different method than you did.
  9. Welp, I hope that boss isn't a comp/trim req, because I'll never be able to fight it. I really do wish they'd reconsider this Legacy nonsense. It's a waste of time.
  10. They're going to have less content made and released while they work on the elf city; that shouldn't be surprising.
  11. I have moral issues with dicing and transferring from OSRS, but I agree that it's rather silly to flame people for it, and there's certainly nothing wrong with accepting or even asking for donations. I probably would never give a single coin in that way, but there's nothing wrong with those who do. I've never understood the drama that cropped up over that.
  12. Only if we can then see Armadyl smash his head in with his fancy new mace.
  13. The single biggest reason I've never killed DKs is because of the doors. I hate forced interaction with other players to access content like that. If I want to work with other players, I'll go play a minigame, or do group dg. Slayer is a very solo skill for me. More often than not, from what I've seen, you have to bug someone to come help you open the doors, and then they leave and go continue whatever they were doing before while you kill dags. Many times I've also seen someone spend twenty minutes trying to get someone to help em open the doors before giving up and doing something else instead (since all the fcs for it have died out). It doesn't encourage player interaction, it requires it. That's an important difference., especially when it blocks solo-able content like this. I would love to see the doors gone.
  14. Dungeoneering? Really? I'm surprised there's no Farming requirement given farming was one of the things revolving around the city (or so I last heard) I think they picked one skill from each clan, and they went with wc instead of farming.
  15. How exactly are you calculating that? It scales by level, just like a fallen star, so are you assuming level 99?
  16. It seemed like set it and forget it when they described it. I'm fine with that, honestly.
  17. @^: Clearly, you're angry for the sake of being angry and have nothing real to contribute here. So glad you stopped by. I'm excited about the improved gem rocks; I've always wanted to like gem rocks but they never really were worth using. Having an anvil and furnace in the same place hasn't been done before, has it? Expanding the god statues D&D will be nice, of course. I'm not sure how I feel about allowing a third spirit tree without introducing any new patches; I rather liked the element of choice that required.
  18. And you can do some of those inside the city too!
  19. Updated to include the last patch's equipment (cspear, dg necklaces, crystal amulet). I'm not sure if I dread or am excited about the stuff I'll have to add once the elf city comes out, heh. Edit: Also added the kyzajs from The Mighty Fall. Slightly preferable to barrows weps, because no degrade, and upgraded version is +2 prayer over sara sword if you can manage to buy a hilt.
  20. I would guess that if those players continue to do so after this point, they'll get smacked; I think Jagex took a rather lax approach to the whole situation because they (that is, Mod Balance) were unclear about what exactly the rule was and how it was enforced. But they were doing it before Mod Balance made his infamous clarification. They knew it was against the rules, but they did it anyways because they figured Jagex was too lazy to actually enforce the rule (just as Jagex doesn't really punish Castle Wars boosters anymore). That's not really an excuse, and it was clear to them and everyone else, that it was indeed against the rules. It was against the rules, and the high-profile-ness of it made some relevant mods reconsider whether or not it should be against the rules, especially since those aspects of that rule weren't being enforced internally anyway. And since Mod Balance confuzzled everyone they decided to give blanket amnesty while they figure out how exactly they wanted to change things. I don't think that's surprising or bad. I totally don't agree with Jagex changing the multilogging rule and think it's a dumb decision, but given that they are changing it, and that info got leaked before they were ready, I can understand why they've responded the way they have. If they now don't enforce the rules they just changed, then I'll be upset, but I haven't seen that happen yet.
  21. Depends how indirectly they consider "interaction" - the main is clearly benefiting from the actions of the alt, in that case, so it's definitely toeing the line. I really don't like the rule change, but it seems to be a done deal.
  22. Ooh, look, they explained what those items are for, yay! That is going to be a massive amount of bonus xp and doubled xp time. Wow. And no wonder we were all confused about the conditions required to get those two items; I was guessing it was something semi-complicated. I'm quite happy they gave it to those who've been members for the past year in addition to the special package buyers - I never buy the packages because I still pay my old $5 a month and don't want to pay more, even if I get special stuff for it, but getting left out of this would've been frustrating. Also... yeah, I'm way more excited about the elf city than I ever will be about Invention. We'll have both soon enough anyway.
  23. Yeah, looks like we can rub it once per day to get 3 bonus-xp-granting shards. Wearing the amulet while (s)killing can get you "crystal motherlode shards" which, when examined, say they can be turned in for a reward once the elf city opens (doesn't specify the reward). They look like they stack in inventory, they can be banked, and their only options right now are "use" and "drop". Haven't heard of anyone getting anything other than those shards from wearing the amulet, so that may be all it means by "rare items". Edit: Wikia mentioned that some folks have gotten a big crystal instead of three small ones from the daily rub that gives bonus XP in the ten skills required for MEp3, as well as earning elder seeds from wearing the amulet while (s)killing.
  24. Finished Daemonheim task set!

  25. I would guess that if those players continue to do so after this point, they'll get smacked; I think Jagex took a rather lax approach to the whole situation because they (that is, Mod Balance) were unclear about what exactly the rule was and how it was enforced.
