  1. Jagex constantly introduces worlds every few months or so.
  2. Quality of customer support is directly proportionate to the companie's profits.
  3. I personally know a former beggar. He stopped because he gave up the game. He got a membership right off tutorial island and started beggin. I tried to explain how much he would be hated and that he's better off just playing the game. He wouldn't listen, apparently all he ever knew was begging. He never even finished his first month of membership.
  4. It's not just begging really. Though beggars are much more annoying then newbs asking for help(what level am I? where's lumby?), it comes from the same lack of understanding. Beggars think they'll make money the fastest by being a parasite to others. They don't realise that this money making method is actually very slow and attracts thoughts of spite. Newbs don't understand the game and don't know how to find out other than asking other ppl. At thecore level, these ppl just don't know how to play.(I'm not trying to make excuses, but a lot of ppl wouldn't be beggars if they knew how to play)
  5. Smart of Jagex, apparently they're gonna be getting a lot of.. erm... members.
  6. Ok, I cleaned up my bank so here's what I have Incase you don't know, that's a muddy key. It's kinda valuable so I'm not dropping it. Since I'm f2p ammy moulds are all i'm really interested in. I kept that other mould just cause I had a little space. I cooked my raw fish also. As for my ores, mining is an ongoing procces for me. I only smith once I have a lot. I have to balance between profit and experience. That's why I have mith and iron ores. I can't wait for my next clothes giving random, but I also dread dropping more items. Anyway, this is my cleaned up bank.(with nothing in my inventory.)
  7. Any which way you put it, though, if someone brought up charges against Jagex (or Jagex launched a lawsuit on someone), the case would end up with Jagex losing, badly. :( Jagex can't say they aren't liable and then force someone to view the adverts too. That's called "illegal entrapment", and Jagex can't legally do that. :notalk: ~Mr. Devnull Actually, it is the player's obligation to read the rules before hand. If they thought there was a problem, they should not have played. It's really not Jagex's fault. But if you live in the US, anything is possible. If you can sue McDonald's cuase you're fat, you can sue for anything.
  8. 12 year old player mod? Scary. Just a note, Jagex probably has to enact this rule legally.
  9. Yes. Every game is pixels. Fun pixels, maybe, but pixels nonetheless. I'm tired of you insulting everyone then saying how stupid we are for insulting you. I'm done with this thread. To the guy who's leaving: I know what it feels like to be hacekd(100k is a lot to a noob). I'm glad it got a whole life changing thing going. Good luck with your life.
  10. You assume too much. The vast majority of players would still subject themselves to the banners and pop-ups, even without the rule, if only because of ignorance and laziness about spyware. And most customers that were going to go through the trouble of blocking their banners (and all incoming banners, not just those of Jagex), are still going to, no matter what the rule says. But, by making it a rule, Jagex risks voiding their protection from consequential damages in their TOS, especially from EU customers. Jagex is in England, and the European Union tends to have stricter rules than North America. Mind you, the USA is tort heaven, so that will be no fun, legally speaking, either. So basically, by making it a rule, Jagex isn't really getting more people to watch the banners, and they are opening themselves up to potentially costly legal hassles, should anything go very wrong with one of those banners. Basically, not a good business move on their part. They would have been better off leaving it to customer discretion, because it's not going to change customer behavior to have the rule, and real-world legal risks are just not worth it. Understand? ya, I see what you mean. You're basically going from "Jagex is really dumb with this rule I hate it." to more of a "This is a poor business move on Jagex's part". The same core meaning, but you're changing your argument. It may be that they are benefitting financially from the ad companies by making this rule.(I don't really know, I'm just speculating) Either way, Jagex has their reasons, and they probably have lawyers.
  11. I know there are a huge amount of kids on runescape. They're all lying. If you choose the "I'm under 13" option, the computer blocks you from making accounts further. My friend's little brother did this, and my friend had to come to my house to make an account.
  12. I didn't really read that last post, but I have something to say. Jagex has methods. We don't know what they are, but they're obviously somewhat effective as runescape isn't flooded with macroers. Jagex has probably implemented some(or all) of these ideas in one way or another.
  13. Honestly, it looks like Jagex considers your letter spam. I don't think they will change their minds no matter how many letters they get. But that's just my opinion. I don't think so. It's a whole elaborate thing purely to benefit free people. I would hope for the option to make costumes recoverable at the very most.(or more space some day) Jagex made the option availabe to constructors only. They're not about to make it free.
  14. It wouldn't make sense to counterfeit at a loss. Probably the currency shouldn't be interchangeable(counterfeit is the only good way to get it, besides buying from players) so while economically you would be making money with this, it would still be a money drain in that the people who buy the counterfeit or items(from the island) are taking a loss.
  15. Oh look, it's another moron who trivialiss everything in RuneScape as "Bananas" It is all pixels, and it is all binary code, so why are you saying different? He's quit runescape cos he feels that he can be doing better things with his life, and having lost a great item it taught him this. You are a Moron. Hahahaha. While you're on all about telling me this is pixels and binary code. I'll tell you about http://www.dictionary.com and look up the word "Trivial". Too complex for you perhaps? I'll do it for you. ÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Ãâverb (used with object), -ized, -izÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãâçing. to make trivial; cause to appear unimportant, trifling, etc. And before you reply something else even stupider, think about what I say when I say that "Playing a game is all about fun, maybe you find something else as fun, sure, but playing this game for what, 5 years, says something: That you actually found this game fun once. This means, what, that you actually find playing computer games fun, further proves my point. Now think about this, and think harder, which you obviously didn't, in the first place. Trivialising the game as "Pixels" is like saying that computer games are unimportant. I think they are, and so do most people, since they are a way to relax, and also not a bad way to relieve stress. You should try that. Forgot again, what trivialising means? ÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Ãâverb (used with object), -ized, -izÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãâçing. to make trivial; cause to appear unimportant, trifling, etc. But of course, that person I replied to created a topic asking why JAGeX didn't add more bank space. I shouldn't really take him seriously. Thanks for calling me a Moron, btw, gave me a lot of laughs at the blatant hypocrisy. I play runescape for fun. But this person decided he played too much. He decided that he would be better off doing something else than playing runescape. It's his decision to find something mroe worthwhile than runescape. You may feel that ruenscape is the best possible use of spare time, but not everyone feels that way. This person has found reality to be better than runescape.(reminds me of the matrix) It's also notable that MMORPG's often offer an escape from reality kind of feeling. This is very unhealthy, and why some people choose to stay away from them. In conclusion, you're a moron. :P
  16. You're all saying, in one way or another, that Jagex is stupid for making rule 15. Not making rule 15 would mean losing money. All Jagex is doing is trying not to INCREASE the losses they already have on f2p. You're basically saying they're stupid because they made this rule that results in less lost money. Unless you have some other idea for them to make up the losses of f2p without charging anyone. That is what I meant.
  17. =D> =D> =D> I was just thinking all of us who support it should post our banks just so we can know what's going on In my inventory I'm currently wearing a zombie body and shoes and lederhosen. I also have gold gloves a defence ammy and a rune pick. You'll notice the four frog tokens. I'm not dropping them. I really do have some stuff I could drop right now. The str pot, the rod, the addy full(sell) and the shears. I just drop stuff whenever I need space. I often end up going around trying to get back the stuff i dropped though. I could easily clear up six psaces without a huge loss. The thing is, i'm wearing a lot of stuff that would normally sit in my bank. As for the randoms, my bank will only get more pushed as time goes on.
  18. To be techincal pi, being totally irrational, has an infinite amount of non repeating digits after the decimal points. Nobody can express it in our numerical system. Ever. Ya, it's hard.
  19. There should be items only attainable there, some non tradeable. Also, use the island(or whatever) as a base for more quests. Counterfeiting would be the major way to get money there. Thus, more and more quests would be based off this. Could this be made a money drain of some sort?
  20. Ok. If you get viruses from a website banner ad(though I'm not sure how you know it was the banner), then you probably shouldn't go there. I have a firewall, yes. I know how annoying spyware is. I've gone on long quests trying to get that spyware off. It stinks, but you DO have to click on it to have the ad seriously damge your PC. Maybe it's just me. I've never had my computer majorly affected without actually isntalling something or visiting a questionable site. I'm confident that Jagex will not let viruses run rampent through their ads. In the end, I guess it's your choice wether or not to break the rules.(Because Jagex definitely isn't changing them.) Just one more thing in Jagex's defense. This is the only way to make up for the huge losses we give them. You can choose wether or not to follow the rule, but saying Jagex is stupid for trying not to lose money just isn't right. The rule is only logical, or else they wouldn't have ads in the first place.
  21. I'm really upset at how ignorant parents can be. according to you quote If they don't want their pc damaged, they should not play the game. Also, no damage qill be incurred unless the ads are clicked. Furthermore, this "damage" consists of cookies, which are easily fixable. Ads don't destroy pc's. That idea is born out of the same type of ignorance and gullibility that sparked the Y2K bug. Jagex does not show evidence to the player or to the public because such knowledge would encourage many to find ways around this evidence. Jagex may have the proof, but they don't show it to players.
  22. Then you can all stop playing. Seriously, this is stupid. You guys want to play the game without paying. Fine. You want to block the ads for whatever dumb reason? Not so great. Btw, Jagex probably gets more like .1 cent for each ad. It's not a lot, but it helps keep the f2p free. A lot of members probably goes to maintaining f2p servers. You're basically walking up to those people who give the weekend vacations for a half hour seminar and shouting "I want that vacation, but I'm not listening to your seminar! That is the stupidest thing ever!!!". Guess what, Jagex is giving something for free and you are obliged to play by their rules.
  23. I do support this fully, but I just have to say something. Once the newness of these costumes wears off, you probably won't be wearing them much.(I've already destroyed mine) I might go get my rubber chicken soon now that it's not entirely common. But what I'm saying is they're designed not to need space. For some reason, Jagex has made the random event items irrecoverable. That's what really bothers me. It took forever for me to get these lederhosen, and I'm not dropping them. I don't think Jagex should give us any more space than is needed for the clothes from random events. This ofcourse, raises another problem. Is this unfair to all the people who dump random clothing in favor of actually using their space?
  24. Incase you haven't noticed, none of the f2p updates this year have been "good" updates. They're pretty much just n00b help stuff. The stronghold of security is kinda lame really. I would only count one, the lumby tele and bank, but that's still primarily to help new players. F2p doesn't really get updates. They're more of maintenance.
  25. To all you members who keep yelling at f2pers for being cheap: 1. I know you're mostly kids, and I know your parents mostly pay for your membership. But many kids don't get allowances. Many kids can't do stupid things like chores for cash, because they are obligated to do so free(their parents make them do it). Also, those of us who actually work for our money might be a little more carefull with it. Some people don't go to the movies every weekend, or buy memberships willnilly. So stop presuming that we're too lazy or cheap to get a membership, and accept that Jagex lets us play for free. We are entitled to make complaints(Jagex isn't obliged to fulfill them, for f2p or members). 2. For whatever reason, we have chosen not to pay for membership. We've heard your arguments many times over. Guess what, it's not making us get a membership. So just shut up and accept that we're not members.
