  1. This would work if the ads generate around a dollar a month and the price is lowered fifty cents. The idea wouldn't be a loss leader, it would be a way to make more $$$ off of members. It wouldn't make me become a member, but if I did, I would definitely take that offfer.
  2. a. There's no spyware if you don't click on 'em. Cookies, yes, but you can delete those quite simply. b. It's Jagex giving you something for nothing under their terms. Yes, they can do whatever they want. Yes, it stinks, doesn't it? c. If you get one of those sound or flashy ads, just right click(assuming it's a flash which it usually is) and choose low quality(for lag) and toy around with the play, loop, rewind and forward buttons.(this usually can block the sound) d. Blocking ads is basically ripping off the advertisers. You may not like the adverts, but they're what keeps f2p free. Deal with it.(I think I sound like Jagex  )
  3. I would give it back if possible. For most of you, dignity
  4. HP is good, but it really won't matter a lot. Prayer is probably the best. You basically want the most XP for something that would normally take a long time to get.
  5. I got 32 in a matter of days, before I even played RS much at all. A cooking store would be cool.
  6. They should make it all new(revamp, not a replacement). Besides, almost everyone meets the current cooking requirement. Maybe make it have all the resources for some higher level foods. Like pizza, potatoes, or cake.
  7. ^ that defeats the purpose. No it wouldn't be all that hard. Since the auctions last hours you might have to wait a minute before your item gets up. But that'll be fine. Gah do you know how an auction house even works ok you got 250k active players hmm coal 1st player say 100g ea next looks and sees oh 100g ea well i got 1000 to sell so 99g ea Repeat a few thousand times because you got 250k active players coal is now selling at 30-50g You can't have an auction house in a game where you have so few items and just about every player stocks the common items. It WILL kill the market. Bad Idea dude no one is going to sell coal for 30gp ea, but if your idea works then in a few months party hats will be 50k?is that what your trying to say? lol yea, kinda stupid example there lol....wat will happen is people set a price of 150ea...some1 sets a price 145ea...guess wat. merchants come in No, it's an auction. You don't set a price. So even if your reserve price for coal is low, it'll just go up as ppl bid. You set ur price 300ea. A competitor sets their price 200 ea. Somebody bids on it. Somebody looks at the price and bids higher, 250 each. Eventually prices are stabilized within a few gp of each other. This would make merchanting only possible in the fluctuation of prices, not in ripping off noobs. It goes like this: "that guy said the price of coal was 50gold. Then he bought it for 75, how nice." then he goes the auction house "wow, it's a lot more expensive here. I'll sell mine for cheap." six hours later "whoa! People sure do want it a lot, 300 for each of my coal!! Neat! Hey, wait a minute, that guy was lying, well I sure won't let that happen again" Then he lives happily ever after.
  8. This gets my seal of approval as "the most stupid and pointless yet really good idea ever"
  9. GReat idea! Also, not all ppl use forums(especially sine they aren't supported by jagex). And the rs forums are members only. No duh there would be minimum bids or reserve prices. Ofcourse, the major market fluctuations would be annoying for merchants(or beneficial), but they're rich and can handle it. These would also be interworld, right? If so, that's great. My personal use would be to sell this stupid Guthix skirt nobody wants to buy. I've tried the forums, I've tried world one and two. Nobody buys it, but it's still worth something. These AH's would allow people to sell these things, and other items that previously had low demand. Such items include: String, low level ores(for newer players), low demand foods(pizza or cake), clothing, talismans etc. Also, would there be an option to posta request for an item not on the Auction boards?
  10. Don't be a pure. Just train all of your stats equally for awhile. Also, start out f2p, so you have a smaller horizon to choose from. Make an original name, stick with it and you'll do fine. Don't worry about goals, so much, just play for fun for a bit. Do a few quests, train a few skills, that's it. Remember that you shouls just try to have fun.
  11. But the ide is that the ads generate two dollars per player per month. Hence, Jagex is getting 5.5 million per month but we pay 3.5 million per month. Also, it doesn't need to attract new members, as a small decrease might not. It needs to generate more money for the company while letting the players pay less. We pay less, but the ads make up for that, and more. This really doesn't matter if the ads don't even make up for f2p maintenance. Only Jagex really knows that, I guess.
  12. I do believe runecrafting was always f2p. Also, I deaply don't support this idea. Jagex isn't gonna do it, and I don't really want them to. I'd like them to be a little more considerate of f2pers in things such as the skill capes, but this is just asking for something for free that normally costs money.
  13. This would be great as firemaking is not that great at the moment. I think there should just be more uses, not so many of the fancy gimmick style things(not that they should be all left out). Like making more firemaking based quests.
  14. Waht Jagex did really offended high lvl f2pers. They're basically saying f2p is a sup species. Whenrunescape started out, they were all f2p. Now they've made it so you either get tired and quit or become a member. The runescape I remember from the old days(when it very first came out) was a happy runescape. When members came out, freeplayers still had a good time. Now it seems Jagex is dissing f2p by not giving them something that they should have. I dare say it is even possible that a p2p holiday item may be in store in a few holidays.
  15. And then runescape would be just another game where money = in game power. You know, tons of MMORPG's do this. And it stinks. The real world trading rule is meant to prevent what this would cause. Two thumbs down
  16. The bunny ears are untradeable, and those are considered quite rare. I think in a few years the rubber chicken will be a sign of veterans.
  17. That'd rock! Maybe make it in conjuction with firemaking? It'd probably be members only( =[ ) ofcourse. Maybe have like a grove of trees fenced off except to those experienced lumberjacks. An axe shop for all woodcut axes would be nice, maybe a system to bank your logs.(like those alpine water things they used to use to channel logs over distances.) This could also be tied into a farming guild.
  18. My theory here is work = benefit. work = money hence, money you pay = benefit you get Looking(ignoring) a banner ad is not work, hence the benefit(game) is not earned in any way. For jagex, they have to see a benefit for increasing bank size. Is there really any value? Is anyone going to leave runescape if they don't get their bank space(probably not). Is anyone who didn't play before going to come?(probably not, they don't know what it means, and it really means nothing to the newb) Then there's loss. There are some people who are going to become members for the space(probably). Thus keeping the bank space low is to Jagex's benefit. The one time payment for space I guess could work this out, as the few ppl who would become members would be outweighed by the masses giving the one time payment that would never become members. But then, only Jagex know what percentage of players will end up becoming members anyway. I think an alternate way of storing holidays and random items would work best by returning the bank space needed to it's normal value. Maybe the clothes shop in varrock could hold all your random clothes? As for holidays, I'm forced to store all mine via diango, as are most ppl.(I assume) I really hope Jagex makes a one time donation available. I don't care about ads, looking(ignoring) something isn't work at all. But I would definitely pay for some extra space. Oh oh!!! New idea!!!!! Extra space for a new, f2p, advanced quest. Really advanced. So Jagex would make most of us satisfied without increasing the user file(or something) for all the new players.
  19. Jagex probably enforces language controls to keep some people from leaving. I know a lot of people would, but not that many decided not to come to runescape because they can't. Or maybe Jagex has one of those rare things called morals.
  20. I think the runescape economy has benefited from rares, as they are a de flationary form of tender while gold is ever inflating.
  21. Anyway I agree with you in full heejunmoon4.
  22. Oh dang, my bad. I thought you were narc angel my bad!
  23. I would say get the mask, if you're a long term player you'll want a rare eventually so might as well get it now, cuz the longer you wait, the pricier they are.
  24. Unless I have friends that don't break the rules.
