  1. The fire in the background was already in there? If that's the case, I say just edit it all out. Do a custom background and make it SAWEET! Remember go look at those tutorials, there's a lot of good ones.
  2. I completely understand what you were going for here. Johnny flame, flames, thing is, it just doesn't go well together. The idea I can understand. But as stated the fire just looks bad.
  3. You're using photoshop correct? Okay my main suggestion here is to read some tutorials. Now that may seem a bit [developmentally delayed]ed, but it can most definitely help. Go to Deviantart.com and look at the tutorials there. Don't follow them exactly, when going through a tutorial, just use it as a guideline, a learning resource. Whenever I used them, I would get to a lot of parts and experiment going, "What if I did this? Or what if I did that?" and I wouldn't do what the tutorial specified. Sometimes it worked, sometimes it didn't. If it worked, I kept it in mind to be used at another time on a different piece. It's all about experimentation. I will say, the hardest thing about creating a signature is text. It's by far the hardest thing to get right. Never fall into a habit of using one text because you like it. Evaluate the piece, see what kind of "mood it has," then you can answer should the text be medium or small size? Should it be put here or over here? Should it be smooth and elegant or jumply and chaotic? All things you need to answer, also text color choice. Mess with blending modes, put it in different directions on angles. Say you have a guy with a sword in the picture, have it on an angle running down the sword. Color choice overall is a hard thing as well. You need something that will not kill the eyeballs of the viewer but can also be bold and stand out. One thing color helps with is depth and feel. The sig you have here now is very flat, boring, and uninteresting. Different brushing techniques, choosing different places for the render, things of that nature can make the sig feel a lot more alive. As I said man, go look at some tutorials. When I go to create something new, I do not set myself a boundary on what can or will be done. You need to take chances, a lot of the time I will do something totally off the wall, something I didn't even plan on doing with the piece. Even after I am "finished," I will go back and evolve the piece, change it somehow to make it even better.
  4. It's been quite a while since I've posted anything. A long long while. So I did something last night when I was bored. Not completely finished, still going through many revisions. What you see is the Cloud and the water from the Final Fantasy 10 wallpaper, the ships, and all that are a shot from Halo 3, and if you look near the beam of light you will see a guy kind of jumping near it, that's another shot from FF XI. Getting the pictures of the stocks, will post when I get the links. Edit: Links to the pictures. http://www.stttelkom.ac.id/helpdesk/download/wallpaper/Final%20Fantasy.jpg http://www.ffinsider.net/ff11/wall/2b.jpg http://www.bungie.net/images/games/halo3/screenshots/h3_e32006_structure.jpg
  5. Metroid admit it that you ripped, there is more than enough evidence to prove that you did. Phazon already got you banned from NextGFX, seriously, quit lying and just tell the truth. You've already lost the respect of the NextGFX community, maybe you can save yourself some humiliation here if you just bite the bullet. Phazon proved you wrong multiple times, and you obviously don't care. Quit being a fake and make your own art work. Metroid is the same kid that was on the 2XGU forum and got banned for bad behavior. Before he left he said that "no one on the forum had any artistic talent," (paraphrased of course). Who's the one lacking talent now? At least our work is legit.
  6. Learn what a pixel is, that's my advice to get better.
  7. I take that to offense that you say I draw "anime." I do need to work on my facial anatomy, but people kind of look at me funny when I stare at their faces :ohnoes: and I don't carry mirrors around school. :-w . You realize that anime things have like huge eyes and extremely disproportioned noses, etc.? But the last one is anime, but just because the show is in anime. Actually not all anime does, you're generalizing. And you don't need to stare at peoples faces, to practice just print a picture of a face that has good lighting from the internet and practice from that. It's just a silly excuse you're trying to make, "Well I can't stare at people," number one you can, number two you don't have to. I'm not saying there's anything wrong with anime. But if you want to learn to draw portraiture, it's a bad idea. BTW just carry around pictures of your favorite artists or actors, and draw them by graphing them out. I didn't say what you said was bad, but it's offensive to me. I know it's a bad idea to learn proportions and anatomy, etc from anime. Thanks for the tip in your last sentence, btw o.O
  8. Radial blur isn't bad... If you know what you're doing.
  9. Weeb and I had our own row, where somehow in the whole ordeal, his profanity count exceted that of the South Park: Bigger, Better, and Longer movie, where mine was at 0. I tried talking to him in an intelligent decent manner, then what happens? Yes you guessed it, my sexuality was insulted. He not only insulted myself, but many others such as Axeraider, GoldWolfLord, Cadburys, Blood_Angel, ect. You guys saw just the tip of the iceberg in his tantrums and behavior. Weeb I never intended for you to get so out of hand with your attitude, but you did. All I did was try and be polite with you, and of course you took it upon yourself to continue insulting me. Like I said, I don't feel the need to defend myself, or chastise someone over the internet. It simply proves nothing. The whole fuel to that arguement was you cracking a joke at me, and me cracking one at you, then you not being able to take it. Maybe it's because you're too young to understand and you haven't reached that age of understanding in your maturity, and that's one thing I hope to all heck that it is. I don't know what else to say to make you understand how you're acting won't get you anywhere. As people say you're a good artist and you seem to have a good eye when it comes to most of your signature (notice I said most :-P we all make a crappy one here and there). The past few comments I left on your topics were fairly crucial for you to read, as I did point out what was wrong with the sig and try to help. I'm not here to leave comments such as, "Text sucks," or, "This just isn't good," I do try and help all people with there sigs when I comment on them. Now as for the sig, like I said it's quite decent but the problem I primarily see here is your cinematic border, at the bottom there is too many colors close to black to make this type of border work, so you get this kind of flowing gray and dark grays, then this chopped in black border, doesn't really work here mate. And the one at the top did you change the layer setting to something else? I say mate, try just a simple 1 pixel border or if you want to get fancy go 1 pixel black, 1 pixel white, and 1 pixel black again.
  10. Ohh weeb posted two more sigs, all attention on him. Give me a break, just because you post not everyone is going to comment. And the snake one is rather decent but it fades into the signature to fast and all you really see is his head like it's floating, not that good of an idea. The second I just don't like at all, it has no composition or flowing feel to it. Now I know you don't' care what I'm saying but you'll see this anyways.
  11. Hmm... Well I know you don't care what I think, just because your intelligent far surpasses mine on a premise that I will never understand. Oh dear me; well I go back to one crucial thing Keiphus taught me back when I was a young chap and that is; art can suck. Prime example, get over it, drop the attitude and try again.
  12. Well same old attitude from Weeb and same old work; nothing has changed. This piece in particular is just lacking as a whole, sometimes subtile text is good but unreadable and undecisive is just not that great of an idea. You over sharpened your C4D's, the render is poorly blended, then your render is just blurry because of the guassian blur you probably applied. The colors contrast themselves too quick from a crimson red to an almost orangish-red. And as Cad said, you're going to say Flamers sig was empty and then you post this? Dig yourself a 6 foot whole and jump in because you just commited hypocritical death.
  13. This is pretty darn sweet Keiphus. I was actually thinking about IMing you the other day to see how you were doing. Still got the same screen name? I think I remember it lol. Also what 3d modeling program are you using?
  14. I hate TIF's definition of a manip when all people do are add a few filters to a stock and change layer styles. Real manips are the ones with as Nad said 5 or 6 stocks in them, changed, manipulated and combined to form a whole new piece.
  15. You and every other person on the planet has the permission to use buddies, don't feel special. *Shakes head* Honestly, create your own work.
  16. I dunno mate, this seems a bit better too me, dunno why.
  17. Definitely not as good as I remember you being Caskade, I remember much better work from you mate. Where did it all go?
  18. Well that's because we do. Mate we're not trying to sound harsh, but it's just not impressive at all. Creating your artwork even if it's not that great is far more respected than doing this. Off-Topic: Nad, you need to get on MSN lol.
  19. Create your own work? Yeah sounds like a plan to me.
  20. Yay a celebration and colaboration of medocrity. I'm going to agree with Nadril, 4 years of art classes? And yes they do teach how to do digital art, it depends what classes you takes so you can't rule it out. And not to mention the fact, I would expect something a lot better even if you are using a mouse. Go back to the drawing board, do pre-sketches, do what you can to make it smooth and somehow make it better, because these are just not working.
  21. You have the right idea and it seems you understand 2 point perspective just make sure whatever you draw is in perspective with one of the vanishing points and leads back to it.
  22. If you admit you suck at pixels, it's blatantly showing you don't care, so why should we?
  23. I like this a lot DH, I really like the font in general for the VisuaLogo, what font is that?
  24. Made for the battle against Magictv on 2XGU, I'm interested to see what he cooks up.

I was going to say that as well Cad, Despaxes, s/he is asking for help, not insults. As for learning the programs, as Nadril said, I think Google would be your best bet, as you can find just about anything you need. Good luck!
