The only place you'll need armor is in the tunnels getting your kill count up. You don't need prayer there. As such, I don't think that initiate (or proselyte) is the way to go. Bring mage robes to mage the melee bros and Karil, d'hide to range Ahrim, and some Rune/Barrows + whip for killing in the tunnels. As a note, consider getting range up to 70 and using Black Salamanders. It seems to have been designed for barrowing, and can hit the brothers hard. They seem to kill faster than the slayer dart. Ergo you get out of the crypt sooner, and save prayer. Plus, the ammo is pretty cheap, especially if you gather the swamp tar yourself. If you don't, you'll pay 250 each for tar, and marrentil tar will end up costing 300 each. I go through about 80 marrentil tar per run. It's not too bad, cost-wise. It's just tough finding folks willing to sell :wall: . Which is nuts, becase it takes about 90 minutes for me to gather 1,200 swamp tar, which would sell for about 250-300K.

Of course, note that Ranger boots, Robin Hood Hat, Archers ring and Zammy book will set you back around 7.5 million gp. It could very well be worth it. Max hit on an iron arrow is 9 for levels 65-73. I'm assuming that for iron knives it's the same (although this could be a brazen assumption). It's unlikely that, no matter what stat enhancers the original poster was to use, they'd be able to get to 74 and get their max hit up to 10. At least using those 20K iron knives.

Although not an answer to your question, I've heard from many hunters that the bait is not worth the time in making, and then laying by the trap. You barely have enough time to run around checking, dismantling and laying traps. Any more steps in the process really slows things down, and the bonus you get isn't terribly high (although I don't know anyone who's quantified said bonus as of yet). Just lay your four traps and try to keep up, I'm told.

If you estimate an average of 5 damage per knife, that's 20xp per knife. 20*20K=400K ranged XP. That would probably get you to around level 71-72. If you're not picking up, have you considered pest control? At the very least you might get a bonus level or two along the way. Plus, you can use your eagle eye prayer the whole time (as it resets between games), getting you much, much more XP/knife. EDIT: I looked at your stats, and you should do PC with Affliction if you're level 90+.

They're stackable, and how many you catch depends upon your hunter level. I've heard higher level hunters getting 300-400/hour. Could be more, even, because that's only 5-7 minute, and I get that with regular chinchs and 3 traps. It could very well be twice that.

If you're not actually training range that whole time, and doing it as an after-thought in PC (played about 20 hours of PC during that period, focusing on melee attack), I don't think so. Considering the sudden [bleep]e in the price of these things, I sure wouldn't mind a few more doubting Thomases... get the price down a bit ;-) It's really tough to tell. It depends upon how well you play it, your range level, etc. You could safely say, I think, 150 xp per red chinchompa. That would be about 1,500,000. Others have gotten much more xp/chinch (I think I can get around 200-300), but for the sake of guesstimation...

I don't think it's a waste, especially considering how easy pineapples are to come by, what with all the Charter crewmembers throughout runescape. You could double your yield, which doubles your XP, which gets you out of those low levels faster.

It is quite likely, however, that you have a single IP address at your house. This is probably messing with your ability to log in. You should check to see if you can get two IP addresses from your ISP for the two computers.

+2 Except the mini-quest to get into it is booooring and loooong, and once you're dong using that arena it will all have been for naught.

If there are 30 pests within that 3x3 grid, all on top of each other, will it still just hit 9 pests? Or will all 30 within that grid take damage? Does it hit the corner monsters too? It looks to explode only to the sides : But yeah, it's a good idea... I'm currently not into combat though :-$ It is a 3 x 3 grid, but sometimes it looks like it's missing some squares it should be hitting based upon your orientation (north/south, etc). By and large it appears to hit a full 3x3, corners included. But if you're at a weird angle, it may be targeting a different 3x3 grid than you're expecting, making it appear to miss corners. Or at least that's the way it appears to me.

OK, interest in the creation of this group has been high. I'm creating it now. I will PM via tip.it all those who initially expressed interest, and proceed from there.

You can manage about 550-600/hour in Port Phasmatys, maybe 500-550 in al Kharid, and if you're smelting anywhere else, well... you shouldn't be.

If you haven't already done "Recipe for Disaster - Goblin Generals" Quest/Subquest, that'll get you 1K XP right there (probably close to level 14). There are also several other lower-level quests that will get you no-hassle farming XP (such as "A Fairy tale Part I" 3K xp, and you get "Magickal Secataurs", which improve your crop yield by 10%!) I'd recommend getting as much farming XP via quests as you can manage until you can start planting trees. Trees are a very, very easy way of getting quick and hassle-free Farming XP. And remember: always use super-compost! Not regular compost. On everything you plant.

Has anyone ever tried Abyss Runecrafting with a Ring of Dueling? - Runeraft, - Duel to Castlewars, - Restock, - Take out Glory, - Glory to Edge - Bank Glory and take one last Pure Ess - Run to Abyss. Granted, you're going to use up and awful lot of Duelling rings (I have 700 in the bank from crafting), but you can go into the Abyss with just a duelling ring, pouches and essence. No losing Glories and Full Black Dragonhide if things don't go your way... Wouldn't take more than one or two PKs for the Abyss PKer to realize that you weren't going to be dropping anything useful, and he'd probably end up ignoring you and not wasting runes after that. Never tried it personally, but was wondering if anyone else had. Especially if you were going to try to craft Laws through the Abyss. Thoughts?

It's what DIDN'T happen. I was out in the wilderness when I was level 50ish, mucking about, all safe and secure knowing that I would simply tele out if there was trouble. I was entirely unaware that the Wildy was "no tele above level 20". Amazingly, I was never PKed of my full Addy at the time, lol. I laugh thinking about how devastated I would have been, so pissed at RS, if my tele hadn't worked and I lost that precious Addy.

If you have an armor stand in your Player Owned House, it is coin operated and will cost you a few thousand GP to fix. Otherwise, the axe man in south Lumbridge castle will fix it for a considerable higher fee. Don't know the exact amout, but it's likely fairly high, although at "100", I think it's not all that damaged.

I've never done Barrows, although I've spent a good deal of time reading the guides as I prepare for my first trip. In those guides and on threads discussing Barrows, quite a few terms and concepts are discussed casually that I don't have a full understanding of quite yet. Here goes: 1. "Tunnel Brother" Does this mean that every time you enter the Tomb, one brother is pre-determined to be the one waiting in the tunnel? Or can you always choose who will be your Tunnel Brother, by leaving him until last? Or have I so misunderstood this concept that the above question makes no sense? If so, would you clarify? 2. With the exception of Veracs, if you always have "Protect From Melee/Range/Magick" on, will you ever take damage? I see folks recommend food in the various guides, and I'm wondering if this is just for those folks who don't mind fighting these dudes without prayer, or just in case prayer runs out? Or is the food solely for when Veracs hits you through prayer? 3. "Kill Count": I've heard this terms numerous times, and I want to understand it more. Theoretically, you kill 5 brothers, and 1 in the tunnel, and collect your reward. At that point, does your Kill Count=6? If so, you get higher Kill Counts by killing additional brothers over and over again before killing their "Tunnel Brother"? What is the purpose of a higher Kill Count? Does a higher Kill Count factor into the type of reward you get in the end? Does a higher Kill Count increase the likelihood of a better reward? 4. Can I leave the Barrows with a certain Kill Count, wander over to Burgh de Rott, resupply, come back down and continue? If I can, is it worth it? Thanks for the help.
