  1. I wouldn't even go so far as to say it was ever a "hit". There was a lot of early traffic and excitement, but once folks saw how long it took, how hard it was to get a good team, realized that the rewards (or lack thereof) were pretty crappy, folks realized they're better off skilling to get the cash for that elusive dragon chain.
  2. Spam- when replying to your own post unless its a bump edit it instead~ Bufoman EDIT: Well, i was replying to Grim's reply, a friend of mine. Let's make sure we don't make this forums social at all. Dear Lord, no! There are times I wonder why I even post here. You really have nothing better to do than to edit out friendly banter?
  3. Hardly. Skilling Clans rarely post their events and have very little to say generally. The new forum has done little to reverse the decline of Tip.It - which looked promising for a time but then fell again a few weeks ago. Hey, what exactly do you mean by this? You expect the invidual skilling clans to have tip.it events? I don't think I'm following you here...
  4. That's pretty much my exact take on it. It's really not fun enough to be worth killing an hour going through all ten waves. The three times I gambled 500 were utter wastes. I'm level 5 in everything except collector (3), but I'd be very surprised if it I ever played it again once I'm level 5 in all four modes.
  5. Are you sure you dont mean maples-flax-herbs? Ratio depending on what you need? To make money, you do what primadog said. But if you need herbs or coal, obviously you tailor to your needs.
  6. Be it "clan" or "community", the choices pre-Tip.it-specific recruiting section were quite limited. The section, I believe, will end up enriching the Runescape experience for many.
  7. In F2P people will sell it claiming it's a rare item, and can sometimes get quite a bit of gee pees. However, claiming something is rare, when it isn't, is item scamming.
  8. Many moons ago, I searched the Tip.it Clan Recruitment forums looking for skilling clans. I'd heard about them, and thought I might like to join. However, I really couldn't find any. Finally, in early August or so, the folks at GUILDS posted something, and I and a good 2-3 dozen other people saw their posting and joined. Now there may have been other Runescape skilling clans out there, but they weren't posting on tip.it (at least that I could find). Fast forward to today, and with the new "Skilling Clan Recruitment Centre", the number of skilling clans is now in the dozens. I'd have to think that the creation of the Tip.it section was what has spurred this growth. I think the demand for skilling clans has always been there, but this relatively new section has made it that much easier to find them. Kudos for making the section.
  9. Red Chinchompas, baby. Red *bleepin'* Chinchompas. I died 6 times in this game, but man, was it worth it:
  10. Appropriately named "Hand in the Sand". Don't dump the sand though. Glass Orbs...
  11. Or you could try the Port Phasmatys General Store. They stock 100 buckets. EDIT: And yeah, I think macroing would be a bad idea. Risk your account because you're too lazy to buy a few hundred buckets ten at a time? I couldn't imagine anything more insane.
  12. It took me about 40 lockpicks, theiving 53.
  13. Moss Giants drop mithril spears all the time.
  14. I've only experimented with the opal and pearl bolts, and it seems like only 1-20 actually result in a special. Does anyone know if higher level bolts get the special more frequently? Otherwise, the slow rate of fire of a crossbow, and cost involved, don't seem worth it to me.
  15. 60 gp. Be it silver, or even a cosmic tiara: 60 gp.
  16. Whether you get 50 or 5,000, you can only get 1 commendation point per game won. The only reason you'd get more is that pests are easy to hit, and you get more and more XP. 200 hits vs. 50 hits, over 1,000 games, means 600K more xp. So you can stop at 50, or play through...
  17. Kill two birds with one stone: Craft Law runes on Entrana, and pick up seaweed on the way back. If you can't craft laws, go to one of the law-running worlds (99 is one), and trade pure ess for Laws. Makes the trip to Entrana extra-worthwhile.
  18. Here's mine so far: I was actually playing in a game where the Defender simply refused to tell the Healers (me and another fella) what poison to use on the Penance Healers. While bad in itself, this was a problem because the collectors hadn't collected enough eggs to kill those remaining foes with the cannon. So, we were left standing around with 4 or 5 Penance Healers to kill, with the Defending laughing and calling us all noobs (I kid you not). Rather than take penalties for trying to guess how to poison the Penance Healers, the Attacker went to the horn of glory and told the Healers what we needed. In a stroke of pure misanthropic gaul, the earlier mentioned Defender exited the game just before we killed the last Penance Healer, and the whole extremely long game was lost.
  19. I've read several posts on this on RS OF, wherein people tested it out over 500-2000 attempts. Improvements of 2-4% were the norm. Worth the trouble? Meh...
  20. Members... If there was a general store in members where we could buy willows, fletch 'em into longs, and then sell back to the store, ad infinitum, just standing there, we all would have done it to train fletching. No such place exists. If it does, well... dang, I missed it when I trained!
  21. Red Chinchompas are pretty insane training range there. You kinda need to keep protect from melee going, but, wow.
  22. Ask your friend to trade you the 500 bars for your 500 ores. I wouldn't recommend just giving the ores away. Odds are, you'll lose the ores and a friend. Trust trades are bad news.

I would recommend killing Chaos Druids for Herb drops.
  24. The first ingredient is minced meat, which is made by adding cooked meat to a bowl (with a knife in your inventory). Then use spice (from culinaromancer's chest) with minced meat.
  25. It's hard to imagine a company with over $30 million in annual sales looking to ruin all that to rip off a few people. Plus, if it's a fraudulent purchase, your parents can contest the charges with the credit card company. But I'm pretty sure they know and realize all this, and are just using excuses to not get you membership.
