  1. yes, yes you should
  2. unless you play an obscene amount, or level VERY efficiently, 1 level a day would be very very very very hard to get.
  3. you dont have to do that quest. you will learn the new rank levelling from 60-70
  4. "I bought a song from itunes" theres your problem. afaik itunes DRM means you cant do anything except burn a CD or listen to it on an ipod.
  5. in all seriousness, slash's solos have a nice bluesy feel about them which I really love. Satriani has some really really cool stuff to listen to, and buckethead is just insane. (and i'm not just naming GH names.) in terms of guitarists playing in a band and not solo, sometimes tom morello does some really cool stuff with effects, and john frusciante has some of the most awesome guitar I've ever heard.
  6. Maiden by a mile. Priest are definitely good, but come on, they cant hold a candle to the legendary iron maiden. And live, iron maiden are so far superior to Judas priest.

Spending the week in the cotswolds in southern england and today it was decided that we would visit the wonderful little village of burton on the water. (no I had'nt heard of it either). Oh how I was missing out! Burton isnt called the venice of england for nothing. It has the most adorable little 1 foot deep stream running through the entire village, lined on each side by shops full of delightfully pointless shit. About 20 teahouses within old-person hobbling distance, and plenty of benches to sit and moan about young people on. There must have been about 2000 people converged on this tiny little place, and I'll be damned if the average age wasnt under 50. Why the hell a touring party from Spain is anybody's guess, and there were a suprisingly large amount of asian tourists there as well. I guess it must a pretty popular place for them since all of the restaurant signs were written in japanese as well as english. Burton sports such exciting attractions as the "firefly maze" 5 quid entry per head. get stuffed I'm paying that for a maze that looks about the size of my back garden, and the amazing "birdland". Those penguins looked pretty pissed off let me tell you, standing in a 6"x7" enclosure in the baking sun with very little water probably wasnt their idea of fun, and staring at them for nigh on an hour certainly wasnt mine. Pretty much the only fun we had all day was having a cheap laugh at some of the Americans who looked so incredibly lost, like they thought they'd gone back in time or something, though I can hardly blame them.
  9. I usually dont vote, but I might vote obama this time, just for a change.
  10. darker than black. Woah. I've only watched the first 5 episodes, on holiday now, left my PC on to finish the torrent so it should be done when I get back, but man that OP is awesome. It gave me shivers the first time I heard it.
  11. do live arcade games have achievements? if they do I'm willing to bet some for ikagura would be the hardest. Bullet hell is hard enough without having to go for some special achievement.
  12. as an album I love humanity - hour 1 by The Scorpions A lot of my favourite of their songs are on different albums, but in terms of just listening to one all the way through, I enjoy this one the most.
  13. wrong forum mate. I have no idea where this goes, but it doesnt go here. VG&C maybe?
  14. haha oh wow. Mlbfan and abyssalwhip make my day. I'm so srs.
  15. I've seen like three episodes of that, and in every episode I saw there was at least one scene where some random naked chick got some airtime with her ta-tas*. It's like hentai under another name. *hides open bittorrent window* on the season one DVD release theres an entire 10 minute short ep devoted to all the girls taking a bath and one of them getting pinned down and having her measurements taken. I'd say its still tasteful (meaning no hentai) but you cant really make a scene like that tasteful in the least. Its pretty win.
  16. exactly one month before I'm not a high school student anymore. I go to a college. (Ignoring the fact that its the same school.) And less than 3 weeks till results day. dayyum that is gonna be one hell of a day. more on topic: Zomg I'm just a little kid a big new unknown environment. I'm gonna get swirlied, put in lockers and stereotyped to death, but with the help of my new friends , all of different ethnicities and social backgrounds, I'll get along somehow. Man this [cabbage] is so cash, they should put it on nickelodeon or something.
  17. the only place I mess up in PotR is in the chorus on the quick double changes. sometimes I'll hit nearly all of them, and sometimes I'll hit barely any. Got a -5 on paint it black today. I was pleasantly suprised, didnt realise I was that good at it.
  18. Well, yeah, thats what you'd call a "weaboo". I agree that some of them should be taken out round the back and shot. As with every hobby there are people who just take it too far. That said, I'm all for cosplaying. I think it looks fantastic, it takes skill, time and dedication to create a great looking cosplay. But you shouldnt call the anime corruptive just because some idiots cant differentiate between fact and fiction. If it wasnt anime, they'd be doing it for something else. And if you've never seen a person in a simpsons / american cartoon getup... Have you never heard of comic conventions? There is just as much dressing up and farting around goes on for american cartoons / shows / games. Its not just an anime thing. Cant say I have, although I'm currently saving for a trip in the summer of 2010 with a few friends. To say that not even kids watch it is just plain wrong to be honest. Maybe they didnt let their kids watch or something, but shows like naruto / one piece (to name a couple people might actually know, there are tons) have prime time kids TV slots on Japanese telly. Anime is hated yes, but again, it isnt the anime itself which is hated, its the people that are commonly associated with anime, and the otaku hate has absolutely nothing to do with their obsession over anime either. The general anime / otaku hate stems from an incident in the late eighties where (side note, he was executed in June of this year, probably as a result of the more recent "akiba massacre") and it was discovered that he was indeed an anime obsessed otaku. Whilst the fact that he was mentally unstable is far more likely to have caused him to do this, The anti anime stigma has continued to this day, and it is now hated pretty much for the sake of hating it. Another incident happened not so long ago, where a man went on a killing spree (by japan standards - he killed 4 people, damn in America that wouldnt even make national news) in the Akihabara district of Tokyo, which is famous for being the otaku capital of Japan. The media this time blamed violent videogames (man JT has gone international!), which refuelled the otaku hate somewhat. I'm not saying it isnt hated, I'm just saying that there is no real reason to hate it at all. And thats why the original comment of "they hate it so why shouldnt we?" was just plain stupid.
  19. I have well over 200, including a ton of RSS feeds, but I rarely use any of em now. Just remember something to do with the site, type it into the address bar and hey presto. I love firefox 3. why have wowarmory bookmarked? Theres a firefox plugin which adds an armoury search to the little search bar in the top right. I think its blizzard official too.
  20. first and foremost, I would like to dertemine my opinion of anime. In my life, I would consider it a passion. I love it. A good anime series is something that can completely engulf me for weeks on end and move me to tears. With that said, I'll continue. MY GOD! you people are stupid. I mean, I've come to expect [developmentally delayed]edness on the internet, and maybe its just because its a subject I consider myself knowledgeable on, but the amount of uninformed garbage spewing from people's e-mouth's here is just plain unbelievable. People who are "against" anime; I can see where some of you are coming from. Its not for everybody, some people tend not to like the animation style (although saying that, there are hundreds of different styles) . [hide=animation differences] [/hide] hardly the same quality of animation, yet they are both anime (for reference, top - sazae san, bottom - Clannad (movie)) Anime is a term which encompasses all drawn animation made in Japan. It is nothing more, or nothing less than a cartoon, that just happens to be from a certain country. It has nothing to do with the style of art. right.. that first sentence, wow. I dont even know where to start. You cant possibly have seen enough anime to be able to make such a broad blanket statement, encompassing every genre of anime, and second of all, in most cases, you're just plain wrong. An anime takes months of work and millions of dollars to make, and I very much doubt a company would embark on such a project without at least making sure they had a solid script. The plots make at least as much sense as an american cartoon (assuming it has one) and usually, much more. the anime you see on american TV is usually anime of the "shounen" genre, aimed at younger males. Assuming you consider yourself more mature than a 13 year old, its understandable why the mainstream anime may not appeal to you, however, this is only a small subsection of anime in general. Other genres, whilst nowhere near as popular, and therefore not as easy to find, may have more appeal to you. wow. do you even know what that word means? I'd love you to show me an example of an anime shown on television where they show nude females engaging in sexual encounters, because I've yet to see one. A lot of anime is heavy on the fanservice but that sure as hell isnt hentai. Yes. Hentai is a fairly popular (on the internet at least) thing, but it should never be confused with anime in general. no, I really dont. For a kickoff, anime in general is not "hated" in Japan, it is frowned upon for grown people to have an obsession with it, but that is towards the otaku culture in general, not specifically anime. One of the longest running series in Japan, sazae san, is an anime that has been running since the late sixties I believe. Anime is popular in Japan because it is a form of escape from their incredibly work-centric lifestyle, which is why they tend to be more fantastic(al) (not sure?) than americans, and this style might also be why is has gained popularity overseas. And more to the point of your statement, I fail to see why something which you see as shunned by one culture should therefore be shunned by another. If the world operated in this way, we'd never get anywhere. and so, to some of the people who are "for" anime in this thread. It does your cause no good to call your opposition immature simply because they cant understand your point of view. If you want to sway them, provide some form of proof to backup your claim that anime is worth watching. One of the things I love about anime is there is something for everybody. I'm sure everybody has a bit of anime love deep down inside. Your arguements are no better than the "against" anime arguements to be honest. The for/against anime conflict is ultimately completely unnecessary. Its something that some people like, just like certain sports, music, and food, some people like their TV in a different way. The phrase weaboo being used is inevitable, but damn it annoys me. now, slightly less ranty. too right, man, too right. Silversword, a man after my own heart. Clannad is one of my favourites of all time, and man you are lucky to have that as your first serious anime. I watched The melancholy first, then Lucky star as a logical progression, then Clannad followed simply because it was what KyoAni were doing that season. Some of my other personal favourites are fullmetal panic (especially fumoffu) Full Metal Alchemist, Bleach, Death note, Love Hina, Chobits, Azumanga Daioh, Abenobashi Magical Shopping Arcade, Neon Genesis Evangelion, Welcome to the NHK, Negima, MY-Hime and to a lesser extent My-Otome and all of its related sequel rubbish Currently I'm watching Code geass - Seriously all of you. Watch this, starting from season one. It is the most awesome thing on at the moment. I'm on the edge of my seat all week waiting for the next episode Spice and wolf - slow paced, but nice plot and good artwork. I'm enjoying it so far. Zero no tsukaima - Season 3 has just started and its decent. to be honest its pretty mindless fanservice most of the time, but its also damn funny. Gundam 00 - In b4 LOLOLGUNDAM. Get a grip. Its a good series, the english dubs just raped them. I'm liking this a lot more than the older ones. D. Gray Man - The only way I can think of describing this is bleach crossed with full metal alchemist. but to be honest, that makes it sound way more awesome than it actually is. Give it a look if you like them though. And finally, just because I cant post in an anime thread without plugging my 2 favourite shows EVER The melancholy of Haruhi suzumiya and Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann If you havent watched this, you have. not. lived. Simple as that. Holy crap. thats probably the longest post I've ever done.
  21. got GH 80s yesterday afternoon, got the log yesterday evening. I love the game, every song is brilliant, but it is a tad on the short side. Play with me only took an hour or so of work to 5*, aside from that, I got everything except for 3 songs 5*ed on sightread.
  22. man I wish I could FC message in a bottle. I've hit the last solo a million times in practice mode, Its incredibly fun to play, but I never ever hit it in a real run, and I tend to get bored after 3 or 4 tries because the bit I choke on is right at the end of the song. -4 On black magic woman this morning, that suprised me.

Errdoth thanks for that link. I'd seen Ed Byrne on various shows but never bothered to look into him. That was fantastic.
