Considering a lot of the court documents, especially relating to the settlement are confidential I don't see how anyone here can really make any definite comments about whether bots really are illegal or not even if they are pre-med, pre-law or whatever.

I really hope so. The first bot nuke was the warning/amnesty. Anyone still botting now should be insta-permban, no rollbacks, no temporary bans, no "paying" for unban, no excuses.

There's already at least one reflection bot up so i have no doubt they are close. They'd better be quick though because according to Jacmob the latest bot nuke is only a week or two away.

Long story short... Jagex gave the account to someone else via account recovery despite people pleading with them it wasn't really Sluggy. They took too long to pull their finger out and investigate properly and the pin was reset.

They tweeted yesterday and said that someone won the first head tattoo but haven't named anyone else as winning and top prizes. Make of that what you will...

The thing I don't get. If the animation really doesn't make a difference to the outcome why isn't it animated in the game engine properly? So clicking the squeal of fortune button teleports you to an instanced area where you can pill a lever and see the animation rendered in the proper game engine instead of the silly cartoon graphics.

The person who made this video is a paying member. Exactly. And passionate about the game too unlike many of the "jagex haters" that regularly post here. I even met him at RuneFest but i doubt he remembers me :P

If you have no intention of being a member when what does it matter if you get a rare lucky item? Just discard it. If you might want to be a member in future then just keep it stored until you do. As being being unable to spin until you discard to get members... well. You couldn't spin before Tuesday so what difference does it make?

It's all very well registering and hosting your business from a country with dodgy interpretations of copyright law but if you are making money from the operation which is funneling it's way to you and you're living in the united states or europe then you will eventually fall foul of the law. You're not immune from international law just because you claim to be based in a tiny country where its difficult to serve notice on. It's also unrealistic to set up your business in a country like Somalia, it doesn't have the technical infrastructure to run a high tech business and you'd probably get killed by real life pirates as well.
