  1. He goes on to suggest that compliance might require MMOGs and related traders to obtain a gambling license, which is not excessively difficult in the EU. When queried about games where real-world transactions for in-game assets are not permitted, but there is an 'unofficial secondary market', Chapman responded: And so to avoid regulation by these laws, the... Whether Jagex likes it or not, an empty bucket does not have the same value as a divine spirit sheild.
  2. It's officially faster to work for minimum wage then buy the xp on the squeal of fortune than it is to runecraft at zmi altar.
  3. Yes your card is remembered. Yes as f2p you can still buy spins
  4. On second thought 24 hours is still too risky. I've cancelled my card on runescape
  5. They've got 24 hours to sort out the card security issues or i'm cancelling membership.
  6. where are you looking that will buy rsgp 1$/1M? I've got about 250 if that's the case lol point: RSGP atm is .5$/M give or take I just googled 'rs gold' ive no idea if the site was good value for money compared to any of the countless other gold sellers.
  7. So what's the best thing you can get on the squeal... A divine? and the worst a bronze arrow right? The difference in prize then is between 532 million, and 10gp. At current RWT (yes i know it's against the rules but I picked a random website for the figure) thats a prize of between $516 and $0.0000097 equivalent value. A casino paying out 1 cent on each play is far more generous than Jagex is being. People paying $20 for spins are not going to count winning bronze arrows as "wins" no matter what those mods say.
  8. Then post a synopsis here and the full article on sunday...
  9. Just post it now. It doesnt matter if it doesnt make it to a TipIt Times that people may or may not read. This thread is active now!
  10. Do we get free spins for completing it?
  11. Maybe that's their plan? Leave the 75 spins option for a few days while everyone documents how rubbish it is then they remove it and say it was a mistake and sit there laughing at the huge chunk of extra cash that game in at the start of the financial year
  12. I wonder if the new RC thing is what people voted on at RuneFest (Alterless runecrafting)
  13. :(
  14. A nerf in xp wont stop stupid people spending thousands on spins. A better nerf would be TO REMOVE THE ABILITY TO BUY SPINS! Or at the very least limit the number of spins per month. If your account was compromised and they changed the password how would you remove the linked cards?
  15. http://www.intomobile.com/2011/02/10/children-are-spending-thousands-dollars-on-in-app-purchases-ftc/ http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2011/02/07/AR2011020706073.html
  16. I get the idea of adding free spins to various minigame and stuff. It would be a good way of getting lesser used content more active but the buying of spins is a big mistake. I hope Jagex reconsider. That's bullshit about it not being gambling because you "win" every time. Yeah because 1 tin ore is comparable to a divine sheild...
  17. [tick] Save for next time. What happens once you've legit bought spins, can someone then buy more instantly after that?
  18. Jagex arent providing any items though. They are giving access to a part of the game called "squeel of fortune". Really don't want to defend Jagex on this issue but they are not directly offering items for irl money any more than p2p gives access to more features for money.
  19. If you already subscribe via credit card you just have to press a button! No details needed! How thoughtful of them. It's that simple? You don't have to go through an order confirmation screen or anything? You literally just have to press a buttion? I really hope not! Without multi-factor authentication (mobile app/text message/secure key) not only can a malicious person "hack" my account (phishing, social engineering, persuading jagex they are me) but that person can now, without knowing any of my CC details, buy a shit load of spins on the squeel and cost me REAL money! I am cross.... very cross. This goes against EVERYTHING Jagex have said in the past about gambling and buying your way to the top and basically makes everything they have told us at RuneFest worthless. Can we ever trust what they say again? :(
  20. So they removed in-game gambling (dice, horses etc) because it was bad but have now just implemented REAL LIFE GAMBLING! Bloody hell. Please tell me this is April fools...
  21. Nice prank but should have done it in September for Talk Like A Pirate Day. Doesn't really seem appropriate for April fools. p.s. my idea was better :P
  22. How do you remove your email address from the databases of the spammers though? I get a lot sent to the address i use for tipit (not runescape)
  23. Looks good and I should be able to do all the tasks :)
  24. No theres just an issue with the game engine giving very low fps on some peoples computers. People with brand new gfx cards and 8gb ram are having problems as well as low end pcs. Hopefully it'll get fixed soon, they at least have acknowledged its a problem.
  25. If it wasn't for this "stupid game" I'd never have met my partner of almost 5 years.
