CERN Experiment Indicates Faster-Than-Light neutrinos
I'm highly skeptical about this myself. Plus, the media feeds off of this kind of [cabbage]. ;) And of course, the media has zero understanding of scientific concepts. Don't get me wrong, you can find a good article in a newspaper or on a news site about a recent scientific discovery, but you should take the articles with a grain of salt.

I think that either we should get more points or that everything should be discounted. At the rate things are going it will take years just to get a fraction of the items on sale, and they will continuously add new items. It would feel more "rewarding" if I could purchase more items through the store every month than one or two costume sets and/or save up for something else... Not to mention that they don't give an adequate preview of what the items look like. They should really show previews of what costumes look like, etc. Last month I was majorly pissed because I spent points on a kimono and ended up not liking it immediately after purchase. Also, promo items should eventually be put on sale in the store. It's a shame that they don't. I really don't want to have to go out on such and such date and drive to Gamestop to buy a [bleep]ing membership card. I'd rather it just be a microtransaction in the ingame store.

I think Jagex should start hosting fundraisers/charities in game where you donate real life money and if so many people donate, various guilds will get an update If you donate you could get an item/and or boosted XP rates while you are inside the guild.

The Back Room
If you're in college, I'd strongly advise against working during the school year, but seeing that you have an apartment, you may not have much of a choice. Still, damaging your GPA because you have trouble finding time to study/turn in assignments on time due to your job isn't worth it if you don't absolutely HAVE to work. If you can, work during the summer.

Jagex's new building/mansion in Cambridge
GREEDY FATCATS! Let's start a [bleep]ing riot. Or let's raise the issue at next RUNEFEST. "Sir, are you aware that your company has been blindly shoveling their customer's money on useless luxuries such as a 3-story tall mansion? Sir, are you aware that your people do absolutely nothing to get rid of bots? I, FOR ONE, AM MAD AS HELL SIR AND WE WON'T TOLERATE THIS! C'mon people, let's start a riot! DO NOT SILENCE THE PEOPLE; WE HAVE SPOKEN AND WILL FULFILL OUR RIGHTEOUS CAUSE!" This is seriously. An outrage. I'm just trolling. It's not that big of a deal, really. I could honestly care less if they bought the CEO a diamond encrusted condom.

Does Sliske even realize that you've been working with Azzanadraa in order to restore Zaros to power? Why would he attack someone that's been helping to restore his god?

What about Zaros? [hide]Also what's this about Zamorak returning from banishment, and did Saradomin return too (cause he was on Gielinor)? What does this mean? Guthix pissed off? Zaros???[/hide] Reposting this as it's very interesting to know and no one has said much about it in the thread.- how to make money?
You have to spend money to make money.- The Back Room
Because I'm THAT awesome![/half-irony] Yeah, I dropped the right glass so it broke in half and I had to glue it, but the crack adds character. Pretty badass.- Anyone hacked lately?
How do you do this?- What are your thoughts on...
Who cares?- The Sleep Thread
I remember talking about this in psychology class, and how no one really knows. It's one of those crazy mysteries. But I hear that all characters in your dreams (i.e. humans) are people you've seen before in your life. It might just be a myth or something, though. But the thought of that is creepy. You have a dream and in it is a person who walked past you in the city who you just barely glanced at. We were taught that dreams are constructed of your experiences throughout the day/the past and that it is thought to help the brain reorganize information.- The Sleep Thread
I found that this helps a lot. Right now it's almost 8 PM and I'm debating whether or not I want to go to bed right now. I was wanting to finish up some assignments so they'd be done early, but my printer's messed up and I'm really tired. A lot of people think it's too early to go to bed at 8 or 9 PM, but it does help you a lot when you have to wake up at 6 AM every day for classes. It's not a very fun feeling to go to bed at midnight and wake up at 6AM. I used to do this, and I think it does help you sleep. However, I stopped exercising right before bed because it just delayed me going to bed at a decent time. I just try to exercise early in the afternoon (after I get home from classes) and take a shower. Then I can just do homework up to the time I need to get off for bed (8-9PM) and jump in bed. It's a lot simpler that way since I'm a bit of a procrastinator (wasted a lot of my weekend playing goddamn Wakfu instead of knocking out all the assignments I wanted to work on on Friday and Saturday night). Believe it or not, but exercise can be an excuse for me to procrastinate from my assignments, and the later I push back the exercise in order to knock out my assignments, the less likely I will exercise. So, it's much better for me to exercise early in the afternoon (right after lunch or whatever) or later in the morning (when I wake up and eat breakfast on the weekend) then work on my assignments and use the remaining hours for free time.- 9/11 was ten years ago
Considering the fact that 10 years is technically the majority of my life (am 19 years old), it doesn't feel the same for me.- How far would you go in defence of a loved one/family?
I don't think that it would be a difficult decision to kill a burglar on sight since he would be a threat anyway (they could be armed). If a best friend got into a fight with a sibling, it would depend on my relationship to my brother/sister which side I took.- The Back Room
www.wakfu.com This game is actually pretty surprisingly good IMO. Combat system is turn-based, kind of similar to some RPGs like Final Fantasy. Graphics are pretty cartoonish and fluffy, but the graphics are pretty good (2.5D game), isometric view. Grind ain't too bad, and it's pretty good for casual play. No building up towns or permadeath. Has some mild terraforming. Economy is player-driven, and it has NPCs and a wide variety of monsters to kill. You pick a class for your character as well as gender, hair colour, clothes, eye colour, hair style, etc. The classes I have pictured here are healer (Eniripsa) and Sadida (summons dolls that fight on your behalf/protect you). Blonde hair and pink hair respectively. Iop class and Cra class are melee and archer tanks. Very good for damage, but you should fight things in groups and use a healer and some other classes in order to be more efficient in the long run. Xelor (robot looking thing) kicks ass as well. A friend of mine tested it out, and it was amazing. No word filter. You'll need to make account through a proxy outside the United States if you want to play on the international server, though.- Cyberbullying
Trolling is actually illegal?- Libya Uprising thread
How do you know he wasn't killed by a spy pretending to be on the rebel's side?- What was the worst thing you were caught doing at school?
I [bleep]ing hate those guys. Was he one of those "gangsta" punks? Varies on where you live and go to school. In Kansas, I could bring a pocket knife to school and not get in trouble as long as I dropped it off at the office first thing in the morning (a lot of kids used them around their homes). When I used the bathroom once, my zipper was stuck, so I asked the principal if I could borrow his knife so I could get it out. He lent it to me without saying a word and told me to just keep my mouth shut about it. Texas was the opposite. They had zero (and I mean ABSOLUTELY ZERO) tolerance for such things. If you got into a fight, they suspended both people without giving two asses about who was right and who was wrong. I'd imagine that bringing a knife to school, even by accident, would warrant an automatic expulsion. - 14-Sept-2011 Ritual of the Mahjarrat
