  1. I've never seen anyone happy about being called a [bleep]. Usually they are pissed. [bleep] stands for Mother I'd Like to [bleep]. Kind of a compliment. ;)
  2. Libyan rebels round up black Africans I hope to be wrong in opposing this military adventure, but according to some sources, over 50,000 people have died so far. In my more honest assessment, rather than the [cabbage] Dennis Ross was peddling, that is more people than would have died had Gaddafi just snuffed the rebellion from the get-go (purely speculative, of course). I don't buy that he was going to massacre hundreds of thousands, nor do I believe a genocide was imminent. This doesn't even include the people who might die if civil war breaks out among the tribes. Same talking points that have been used before. Do you see evidence of a "tribal war" breaking out? The media, with all its lust for a "tribal war" has been proven wrong again and again on that front. "I don't buy that he was going to massacre hundreds of thousands, nor do I believe a genocide was imminent. " Really? A man who killed 1,200 people over a few hours wouldn't kill that many? He burned the Green Mountain with napalm when a small uprising took place there in the late 90s. As for the bs about rounding up "black Libyans and migrants", at least their arguments have improved from telling us that "there are black Libyans!!!" as if we didn't know. Black Libyans are no different then any other Libyans, some are dogs but most are not. As for "snuffing" out the revolution, don't fool yourself. Once it spread to Zintan in the Nafoosa Mountaints (on Feb 16) and to Tripoli (initially on Feb 17 but with the major protests occurring on the 20th) and then to Misrata and Zawia and yes even Bin Wleed and Sabha in the days that followed, the writing was on the wall. Had the UN not intervened the fight would have lasted longer, and been bloodier but the revolution was too widespread to be "snuffed" out. We are a people that fought the Italians for 20 years with hunting rifles, in which a quarter of the population was killed while in internment camps. Do you think the US and Europe would have gotten involved if Bo Shafshoufa could have "snuffed" it out? That would have been the best outcome for them because he had just become friends with them. But they saw that the revolution wasn't going to stop, and decided that their involvement could help speed up its victory. The longer it would have dragged on the worse it would be on them. Mercenaries? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TnWpeQKDCgA The revolutionaries are of greater character and are kinder then the the entirety of the armchairs at Amnesty International combined (the AU of course doesn't even measure, which is why no one cares about it). At 1:00+ see how they treat a dying enemy who had killed many of them. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rStYUWymiPA I never figured you to be a pessimist mage. News about Kucinich have you down? Just curious, but are you a rebel soldier?
  3. One of the major problems with high school. You're treated like criminals/little kids, and you are in no way prepared for college. Even when I moved to my new school, there were some idiotic rules (not as bad as the last, by a long shot, but still). I just assumed it was pretty much universal for high schools to have stupid rules and [cabbage]ty teachers who don't teach well.
  4. I already quit a long time ago. I've had a few times between then and now in which I played a little out of boredom (read: a little). Haven't bothered to do any serious grinding in about 2-3 years. I have had my membership running since (waste of money, blah blah blah), and I log on to do the holiday events (always have loved to do those) and test out new content such as quests if they interest me enough (I plan to do the Darkmeyer and ROTM quests when I get time, possibly on winter break). That's about all. I made the full motions for quitting years ago by destroying my POH that had over 100M invested into it just to deter me from playing. It worked. I literally have nothing on my high-leveled character.
  5. The guy claims to have sent a friend of his a few pictures of teenagers. Could mean they're 15. Could mean they're 16. Or it could mean they are 17. It doesn't specify. Regardless, there's a hell of a difference between looking at pornography of 5 year olds and pornography of teenagers (refer to above example). Should he be shot? No. Even if he did look at nude pictures of five-year olds, I don't think the offense condones capital punishment unless it involved the rape and/or murder of the child.
  6. Don't really agree with the way Jagex executed it, though I can understand their reasoning for wanting to distance themselves from a site owned by a sex offender since Runescape is billed at a pre-teen audience. Still, I think that people tend to go out of their way to make the lives of sex offenders harder than it should be. Yes, they committed a crime; it doesn't devoid them of their humanity, though. Surely they deserve a peaceful existence like the rest of us, right? Now people can easily look up the guy's information (address, etc) and harass him. Is that really fair?
  7. I was there when he cut himself, and my teacher informed us about the masturbating incident. Was he a troubled kid or just doing those things to get attention?
  8. Pre-med (Getting a biology degree on the way). Hoping to become a doctor and specialize in psychiatry. I've been in college for two years now.
  9. Were you in the classroom with him when he did that?
  10. Just bumping this thread since very significant events concerning the rebellion in Libya have been/are taking place recently. What do you guys think about the situation with the rebels assuming control of Tripoli and setting up an interim government and the latest controversy over the leaked documents about the CIA and MI6 working with Gaddafi right up until the uprising?
  11. Personally I think Nomad's master may be Drakan, fits the bill for a powerful master and Drakan is obviously up to something. Trying to gain a soul may be a logical choice for this, which would tie into Nomad's soul harvesting thingy. But who knows, all thats for sure is his master is not Lucien, despite all the "evidence" (that doesn't really evidence any specific person at all), because we know the mahjaratt and nomad stories don't cross I thought Nomad said something about the North during the quest?
  12. I would honestly go to the ACLU or something with that and wear nice shirts every day. That's absolutely [bleep]ing ridiculous. This school district was constantly under threat of being sued... The principal even pulled me into his office later on (before I got fed up and moved) and chewed me out because he found out I was bisexual. They had completely ridiculous policies, and the school was plagued by gang violence anyway... Oh, I think they actually did get sued over uniform policy when I left. There was an issue with the school administration cracking down on students wearing armbands (in protest of some of the policies), and they were successfully sued for obstructing freedom of speech. I moved to the City and finished my high school education at a much better school district, so it's all good now. Wow...
  13. lol. When I was in junior high, me and my buds used to play this epic game called Rock Tag where we'd throw large stones at each other in order to achieve our "Jackass" worthy status. Well, I achieved it when my friend tore the [cabbage] out of my arm with a chunk of concrete, which required me going to the ER. :shades: Got caught beating the hell out of a guy that pulled my shorts down in the gymnasium before off-season practice. Got let off whereas the principle threatened to punish the boys that did it to me with sexual harassment. Can't really remember anything bad. I did some tobacco on campus once in front of cameras (very stupid to do) but never got caught... I was generally a good kid though and hardly got in trouble. Oh, now I remember. I got caught wearing a Polo-Ralph Lauren shirt by the [wagon] that was our vice principle during lunch. He made me call my father to bring me a shirt or face a 3 day suspension because apparently nice shirts were against the dress code because I had to make all the poor kids feel good about themselves by wearing [cabbage]ty clothing.
  14. i wish i could fly i wish i could touch the skyyy soar like an eagle fly away i would never come right away fly how would u ever diiie? spread my wings and fllyyy awayyy oh how i wish to see that dayyy i wish i could fly i wish i could touch the skyyy soar like an eagle fly away never come back right away oh how i wish oh how i wish oh how i wish (fly) flyin through the sky makes you look really cool like the reflectin' surface of an open pooool oh how i drool to take a dip into that open poool take a fish with my claws toss into my mouth and close my jaws oh how i wish i could fly...
  15. I'm gonna flip some [cabbage] if the whole Zaros thing fails and you have a sucky ass ending where it just goes back to the norm with Zamorak, Guthix and Saradomin. I expect Zaros to come back and whoop some ass. Pretty sure Jagex said we will have NO control over what side we pick in the quest or who dies.
  16. Staff reminds me of the crappy graphics from 2005-06...

    ^This is pretty awesome.
  19. Horrible advice. You'll screw yourself over in a public presentation/whatever if you can't keep a straight face. I used to have quite a bit of trouble speaking in front of a large group, but I've since grew out of that. I took some speech classes in college, and I didn't really have much trouble at all. Sure, I was nervous when trying to remember a script, but I found that it was much easier to not be so rigid about my speech. In other words, rather than trying to memorize the speech, it was much better to remember key points and just speaking in front of the group as if I was having some conversation with my friends. Also, look people in the eyes. Like I said, speak to the crowd like you would with a smaller group/a group of friends. Don't use slang, but feel free to be relaxed with what you are saying. Don't make yourself think that you necessarily have to use high academic language (varies on the context of the situation). Also, keep a glass of water nearby. I think being dehydrated might make you a little nervous because you're experiencing discomfort (dessication of the throat). Speeches are piss easy to make up too. They're structured like essays, but they're a lot more simplistic. When you transition to another point, just say some crap like "Now that I've spoken about [x], I will now talk about [y]." I could make up a speech in under 10 minutes if I had the main points well organized. :\
  20. Maybe, maybe not. If you want to keep playing on that account, I'd wait a couple weeks just incase something is being processed on Jagex's end and they are going to ban you. If you do get banned you can try to appeal and explain what happened. As soon as you do that, your account is likely to remain banned (denied appeal) or go on lock-down. Still, you have to keep in mind that the goldfarmer has to profit from selling your account, something that can't happen if it gets banned before he can sell. You can be sure that the goldfarmer would at least be a little cautious about it, I think. Even if they botted hundreds of accounts at once, they'd still have to at least make sure that enough don't get banned so they can sell them off. And people say that Jagex is very incompetent when it comes to banning botters, so... EDIT: Since they were botting green dragons and selling the cash itself, then it's possible that they don't take much care at all to prevent it getting banned. Get one toon banned, go to the next. Still... It probably won't get banned.
  21. Although I don't agree with you that skill accomplishments are very important... Why abandon it? Even if they boosted your skills a little (or even a lot), you still remember all the fun times you had with your character, playing the game, and accomplishing things. Why quit the game or start from scratch when you still have a perfectly good character that can be used for other things?
  22. Have I donated? Nope, never will. And with ABP, I don't think I've seen a single ad on any website since...forever.
  23. Cancel your membership. I think they get some code when they subscribe that can be used for recovery (further proof it is your acc, etc). Then do the usual routine of virus scan. Make a password using numbers, letters and symbols if you have a godly memory. Example: for4eh!l0[lz] (not a real password :P, but you get the point). Makes it harder to brute force your ass. And to answer your question, if a hacker stole my account and pumped its stats, I would be [bleep]ing happy. I barely have any GPs or valuable [cabbage] anyway, so I'd profit quite a bit. Not saying I would set myself up to be vulnerable to someone hijacking my account, but still. Don't see how them boosting your stats is a bad thing as long as you can get your account back.
  24. I boated around for hours and can't find noobs to kill on HnH. Sad days.
