  1. Well technically, Jesus could still have been female and taken seriously. Saying he couldn't would be like saying God is not capable of doing so. I find it disgusting that modern Christians contradict themselves because they only follow Christ when it's in their best interests. They will literally take an obscure verse from the Old Testament and smear and attempt to eradicate an entire group of people (homosexuals) and then they totally ignore what Christ says: Love Thy Neighbor, Do Unto Others As You Would Have Them Do Unto You. In every Christian church I've visited, I was NOT treated with open arms and minds. When I went to a church that did love me and accept me with open arms and minds (Unitarian Universalist) and then I went back to a local Episcopal church we've been visiting, the priest's son ridiculed me and put me down for visiting that congregation. It seems like all I ever get are conversion attempts and constantly get hit on the head with a Bible, their favorite being KJV. I'm not trying to put down all Christians, or be intolerant, but there are way too many unChristians who are Christians. It's not really the older generation as much as the new. The old generation in general just manipulate the politics and don't like change. The new generation talks the walk, but never walks the talk. They are obsessed with Jesus, yet they don't stop and do everything he says. It's amazing how many young Christians in school will attempt to harm someone or call them names, or even aggressively try to convert anyone who has a different Sexual orientation, gender identification, or even religion. It escapes my comprehension every single waking moment of my life that they can do those things behind closed scenes, act holier-than-thou in church, and then they complain about how bad they have it in the World, when there are countries who ban Christianity, but you don't face that in America, now do you? As a general rule of thumb, when you are able to manipulate the outcomes of elections and the passing of bills into laws, you pretty much either 1) have too much power 2) have plenty of rights. Now, there are some good Christians. They're hard to come by (for me), but there are some. In fact, I meet them everyday on Soulforce. They are on the liberal side of the spectrum. You do have churches donating to charity, etc. There ARE good things, but they are sometimes harder to notice if you look at Christians from a neutral perspective.
  2. Pretty much because I acted different than most guys, didn't engage in their stupid conversations about sex and the like, and I looked pretty. So pretty much they wanted to kill me because I had feminine characteristics or whatever. Pretty much any difference could cause hate where I used to live. It didn't help that I had a relationship with a boy and then he insisted on faking the stereotype for gay men by acting feminine to the point that it was so fake that any other gay guy would smack him across the face with the back of his hand. Also he thought it would be cool to brag about me and he had the suckiest friends anyone could imagine: preppy little brats that would never keep a secret a secret and they always talked bad about someone and when confronted always broke down into tears and reported you for harassment. If you haven't found out already, I am bisexual. That explains why I sometimes get targeted, but that isn't that often. To be honest I really don't get bullied anymore except by some punk who has a big-ego or low self-esteem. I don't come across as different to people who first meet me for some reason. But you nailed it on the head: they're just a bunch of sadistic SOBs.
  3. I cry when racist SOBs open their mouths or when people push their right-wing, gay-bashing, war-mongering agenda on me and the entire world. Things I used to cry about: Seeing a porcelain doll Falling on my butt Getting lost Damaging an object that has extreme sentimental value to me Being bullied Heights Spiders When Old Yeller died in the book we had to read in 4th grade Now I just cry when I see something emotional or read an emotional book. I find it hard to read the Last Lecture by Randy Pausche because I know he died recently from terminal pancreatic cancer and I know that he constantly talks about trying to help his family before he dies, and his book is his legacy to his children. He's so optimistic even when near his death though. I also cry when I see the Unspeakable Beauty found in all webs of existence and life itself and the power of love that can drive the world forward.
  4. I find it ironic that the Christians who are more loving and accepting are often dismissed by the fundies as heretics. Anyway I did find me a church to go to again someday. They are the most Christian people I've ever met, and they aren't even Christian. (They're Unitarian Universalists.) Anyway I really can't wait for high school to be over. At least the high school years seem more quick-paced than the previous years of school. I've been harassed, bullied, judged, slandered, and targeted for hate crimes way too much during my years in school. I've actually only have been targeted for a hate crime ONCE in my life, and that was in my 10th grade year, last school term. Someone got my cellphone number somehow and they called (two boys) and one had a distinct drawl to his voice that I recognized right away. He said "Is this John?" and I was like "Yes?" He handed the phone to some "bad [wagon]" friend of his and the kid said he was so and so and that he used to go to my school, but he was expelled. He then said he would drive up there one day and kill me. I was like "Okay, what the hell ever.... So I take it you're a psychotic person, eh?" and then they paused and were like "Hello? You there, kid?" for like 5 minutes and then they hung up. I reported it to the counselors the next morning, and they brought in the kid (He denied it.) and then they dismissed him because he said he 'didn't do it.' You know if only I knew how to record conversations back then... I could have had the police track down that psychopath and arrest him for terroristic threatening...
  5. The Intergalactic [ROOSTER] is back and he is pissed off that someone erased both phats and the entire sword. Oh and by the way, there is a delusional woman peeing into the U and there is a teenager (by the looks of it, he's from 4chan) inside the R, masturbating. Oh and there are huge white patches everywhere. Have we given up on the logo yet? Have we moved it or something? And by the way, why did we erase the sword?
  6. I just completed the process of transferring schools. My school I went to through 8-10th grade was just a bunch of trash. You had people who were part of the "gangsta scene" and people who were "rednecks." The rednecks were trashy and nasty people who only chewed "leaves" (tobacco). They were notorious for spitting the juice on people who were unlucky enough to walk by, or they thought it was funny to do that to each other. Bunch of douchebaggery, really. Anyway the "gangstas" were nasty and trashy too, but at least they only started fights with people who attack them first or they attack each other for gang-related reasons. Homophobia was rampant in the school and teachers and administrators just looked the other way when that happened. (They were all fundies. They wouldn't give a rat's [wagon] if someone was called a queer or bullied or even hurt.) The counselors also breached confidentiality on a regular basis. (They told a student who was connected to my dad's church job about some things about me, including sexuality-related things.) The student got my dad fired. We were going to sue the school system and the church, but a lawyer told us that the judges were mainly fundies and they wouldn't rule in favor of us, despite the fact I was DISCRIMINATED against and that the school breached confidentiality. I'm hoping that this new school isn't the same. It's in a major city, so there should, theoretically, be more affluent people (it's not in a slum area). Then again this IS the Bible Belt. Oh well I'm just going to finish up this year and my next, then I'm done for good and can move on towards university and I can start attending MY church and actually change the way mainstream society in America thinks. Anyway the old school was also full of "jocks and preps" who were really drama queens or stupid boys who thought only with testosterone. The stupid drama had to stop somewhere. They were infiltrating my personal life and love life and they constantly tried to find out personal information about my sexuality and to see if I was a virgin or not still. When they found out such personal information about me, some trashy girls would walk up to me and say "I heard you did [this] and [that] last night. Did you enjoy it?" and I would tell them to get the hell out of my business. When they said that I would say "I heard you have chlymedia and herpes. How often do you have outbreaks? By the way, when you transferred to so and so school for part of this year, before you came back, how many men did you sleep with? Why do you always have multiple boyfriends who know nothing about each other?" (These were all true. The girl that gave me problems was the same whorish girl.) She then went to the principal and reported me. Really THEY can get into my personal business, but It's none of my business? I hate that damned school so much. I still communicate with some friends from there, but I'm kind of distanced from that school so my personal info doesn't leak into the other school. I lied and told everyone I knew that I moved to Dallas, Texas. (Just so there would be no drama following me.)
  7. Actually you use the foil bag from the pop tarts instead of the pastries themselves...
  8. That is pure WIN! That was the most random thing I've ever seen.
  9. "Why is it that, as a culture, we are more comfortable seeing two men holding guns than holding hands?" - Ernest Gaines
  10. I wouldn't really be worried. The worst thing the /b/ has ever done was call someone and talk about over 9000 mudkips, or made a threat. There are absolutely ZERO deaths in the history of Anon. Kind of sad they say something they can't back up. Really this D3N guy is a [wagon]. Tip.It should just raid 4chan. lol
  11. I had a friend over once and all he would do was watch hentai porn on my computer. Then he found some pop tarts and took them out of the foil and then put some alcohol in it and started using it as something to inhale so he could get high. So he pretty much asked to come over just because he wanted to get stoned and then look at hentai because he didn't have internet access (for good reasons). Also I found burnt matches in my closet from where he lit them and used a can of AXE spray I had in my room to make a 'flamethrower.' If he ever comes over again, I'll just lie about the internet or something and just hide anything he can use to get stoned.
  12. Bisexual. None taken. Anyway at least the phat problem is solved.
  13. Ow! Your F-bomb just poked my eye out!
  14. OMG when you are at 0% view, you can see that the runestone with the R in it has a reddish shade to it. Also parts of the brown area are more greenish. Kind of looks like it's being taken over. Anyway this game is more addicting than Runescape. Also did anyone notice the stick figure holding the huge package and straddling the U? -Oh nevermind someone just erased most of it while I wrote this. lol
  15. Basically we WOULD have to say "Sorry" to Georgia and just stay out of it. This sounds bad, but Georgia IS a puny country and even though they helped out in Iraq, it wouldn't be worth sacrificing the United States and causing a major shift in world power over a tiny country that would probably be better off with Russia anyway... If the US and Russia went into full-scale war, two things would happen. Either Russia would fight us downhill and ruin the economy even further in the process, or we would declare nuclear war and in that process we would most likely destroy each other within hours and the world would be screwed because of the radiation and nuclear dust particles. So there is a clear message for us Americans: 1) Bush better GTFO and 2) Don't elect a trigger-happy warmonger such as McCain. At least with Obama he'll be a little more diplomatic and passive. Hey at least I can look at the bright side. We get an updated globe and map that shows Georgia as part of Russia AND we get the president I was rooting for anyway just because the other politician seemed like he wanted to help out Georgia (pissing Russia off). Besides this sounds very unpatriotic, but I didn't see what the big deal was in the first place. First off all, S. Ossetia wanted to separate from Georgia in the first place. At least now Georgia won't have to deal with the pressure that rebellious and discontent people would place on their government. So really does that make me on Russia's side in this affair?
  16. Good point. I've noticed that the church usually tries to behave as something contrary to what most religions, or better yet faiths, would do. It probably is better terminology to call it a faith instead of a religion. The UUA declares themselves a singular religion, yet they think of "religion" in a different way than the traditional point-of-view. The traditional thinking when someone hears a religion is something with a distinct holy book, stories of good vs. evil, and the ongoing conflict with good and evil and humanity as a whole. Since they came from a Judeo-Christian background, they've adopted many traditions from Judaism and Christianity. Their worship is really identical to mainstream Christian worship, yet you may also be reminded of a Jewish Synagogue. Their worship is different from the mainstream view of worship. They celebrate life and humanity and love in their hymns. I wouldn't be surprised if you went through an entire service without hearing "God" used since Atheists DO make up a significant (minority) of people in the congregation. While God is mentioned, the Divine is praised in a different way. We praise the Divine by celebrating life as a sacred thing and celebrating the love that binds everyone together and the good that is found in all people, albeit hard to find in people in many cases. Basically it's more of a thing not forcing beliefs on others, at least we try our hardest no to come across that way. In regards to things such as the Qu'ran and the Holy Bible and the Torah and perhaps Buddhist/Hindu/other Eastern philosophies/faiths, we DO use them. We don't use dogma, but we draw from different sources for truth and meaning that we believe exists in different sources. That doesn't mean that we believe things in the Bible such as "women shouldn't leave their homes when on their monthly cycles" or even "homosexuality is evil." Using a book on philosophy or physics or cosmology is just as valid as anything that can be learned about life through a religion's holy book. We are influenced by several religions and philosophies, especially Buddhism and Hinduism. We have the belief that all things are connected in the Universe and that one spiritual path is just as valid as the other, but the other may not be the right path for you. We believe that you should follow the "spiritual road" that you're more comfortable with, even if you do not believe in God. We think that's acceptable. So basically if all that rambling above confused you: We are a religious non-profit organization that serves as an alternative to people who are seeking truth and meaning and understanding in life. We are that bridge between all religions to fill in that gap. We're a religious movement and philosophical movement more than anything, really. If you decide to "worship" with us, don't fall for the misconception that we are worshiping any specific Deity. Really we are just celebrating the beauty of life itself and we are promoting equality and religious freedom for all. If you want to go to our services and at the same time praise God as you understand it, then that's perfectly fine. If you do not believe in God, then that's fine. Really both sides win. If you want to really help out our congregations and cause, you could become a member. Some churches will ask you to contribute a small sum of money to a charity or something to help maintain the facility/help us when we travel somewhere for rallies. However, there are other churches that don't ask you if you want to give money in order to join. And there are others that will take you through a program so you understand the concepts of Unitarian Universalism before you become an official member. When I was in their service last Sunday, I do not recall them asking for donations/offerings at all. A Christian church wouldn't hesitate to ask for a "tithe" or offering of money. I honestly do not know how they keep their facilities running. I heard that the UUA may contribute some money to their congregations in order to maintain programs. They probably work on a pledge system like many charities run off of. I wouldn't call them wealthy at all, but they do seem to be able to survive with their head above water. To be honest the church in my city isn't that impressive as far as their facilities. The building appeared to be older and primarily made of wood than masonry. They have a beautiful and scenic location that makes you feel like you are in harmony with nature. It was a very good all-around experience for me. The people were what made the church impressive. It goes to show you that it's quality that matters, not quantity. We may not be as "impressive" as far as Christianity goes, but we definitely have a voice that can be heard. We have placed our mark on history with our support in the Gay Rights Movement, Civil Rights Movement, and Feminist movement. I guess if you want to ask what the legal definition of a religion is, you could just consult the UUA by emailing them and asking them more about their history. They have a very rich history that has lasted centuries. The Unitarians were christians that believed that an all-loving God would never send his own creation into hell, thus they didn't believe Hell existed. The Universalists were Christians that believed when Jesus died, he died for the universal salvation of all people, which meant everyone went to heaven because everyone automatically had salvation. They merged as one body in 1961 and became the Unitarian Universalists. They declared themselves autonomous from Christianity and became the liberal faith that they are today. Also important signers of the Declaration of Independence were Unitarian. One such person was Thomas Jefferson. Just a brief history and a few interesting facts. Unlike most religions, we are NOT in the converting business. We believe if someone chooses this off-the-beaten path, it should be their own decision and on their terms. Really I'm a newcomer to this and I'm also learning something new about it every day. The more I learn, the more excited I get. If someone is trying to convert you to something, and you are considering it, yet you're a little reluctant to wholeheartedly do it, at least visit a UU congregation and have them help you compare different belief systems and find out what really is in align with what you truly believe. The whole point of this is to find out what you truly believe and what you're comfortable with. We may not be able to appease everybody, however. Let's say someone hates homosexuals. We may try to tell them to "love thy neighbor" and we may even provide Scientific facts that are in favor of homosexuality. We may even use other sources. If they simply refuse, we must agree to disagree and they'll just go down the road. Once again, I'm sorry for the rambling.
  17. I personally think the new location of the phat is better. Although the red color is annoying and kind of is repetitive because of the hilt of the sword. We need to freakin agree on the color instead of the constant "green was better!" "no blue!" and then someone randomly changing it to red and writing "FAIL" on it. anyway since the phat has been pretty much permanently moved, and it would take erasing BOTH in order to redo another one in the original spot, just keep the new one and finish off what's left of the old one. It looks cuter on the corner of the logo instead of on the very top. Anyway did anyone fix the Saradomin symbol on the hilt? I noticed someone had scribbled over it in an off-shade of red yesterday. Also I just started and I don't have enough ink to do a lot of repairs, but in a single-person raid earlier today, someone scribbled lime green all over the TIPS. When looked at from a distance, you can notice that the brown is replaced with a shade of green in the upper-left corner. I also can't get the right shade of brown right. So mainly I can only help out on the letters. =(
  18. I think someone is trying to imitate me by saying "EQUAL RIGHTS for homosexuals is a gift from god!" Anyway I did not write that, but I did erase someone's negative comment "HELL NO!" and put "YES!" so at least it's now tolerant and nice! Anyway at least the recent raid was more along the lines of promoting equal rights and peace. lol lol @ the person that wrote "INTERGALACTIC [ROOSTER]" above the phallic symbol by the hilt of the sword. I've also noticed that it has grown longer. Hmm....
  19. [hide=] [/hide] Well, OJ, why not be more assertive in starting conversations? Maybe that's what she was waiting for you to do all along, or she simply didn't know what to talk about, or she was perhaps busy? I have a pretty decent friendship with an old RS friend that has lasted about 2 years and we only talk when one of us starts up a conversation. She is the type that waits for someone to talk to her on MSN or Facebook. So when I talk to her, she is usually good at responding and we have a nice chat for a while, even if we talk for 20 minutes and then can't think of anything to say and we get distracted by something else. Anyway I can sympathize to anyone who feels heartbroken, or even someone who feels bad for breaking someone else's heart, or even people who seem to have no luck with getting relationships. I used to go through a real angsty stage that lead to typical teenage depression and anxiety. I got over that as I matured over the timespan of a year. I'm going to be 17 before terribly long. Anyway I've had bad experiences with all relationships I've had. (3 total) My first girlfriend turned out to be a pervert and she was using me to try to get some sexual gratification from me. When she realized that it would never happen, she cheated on me and we broke up. My second girlfriend wasn't as bad. She never cheated on me, yet we got in a fight that she started (she was immature, which showed I had a poor taste) and then we broke up. She told her mom lies about me and now we don't talk anymore. My first boyfriend, he got serious with me. We had a 2 month relationship, until I did something bad. The aforementioned girl (second one) was introduced to me by him. I had some bad experiences with my boyfriend. He would brag about sexual things that he convinced me to do with him. He would also make me a target because of our homosexual relationship. I lost a friend over it. Anyway his personality seemed fake (he was nothing in public as he was in his personal life) He would act hyper-feminine in public (basically he believed that all gay men should act like stereotypes) and then he would act dominatingly masculine in private life. Well the girl he introduced me to found out what he did to unwittingly cause some complications in my school life, and the fact that I was keeping an obvious relationship confidential and passed it off as a mere friendship with my parents. Well she convinced me to date her and let me try a "breath of fresh air." Well I fell for it. I told him the complications that have arisen and that they weren't his fault, but they were enough to impede our relationship. He was upset and became bitter. I felt bad, and I still feel so to this day. Anyway we just weren't compatible with each other. We had different hobbies and different personalities, one fake and the other real. Now I'm just going to wait for a serious and long-term relationship. Besides I have some major hurdles to jump over before I can even have the time for a relationship. Just my little contribution to this thread. Basically it might be better just to not let it be on your mind, even though I know the angsty stage of adolescence is very hard to shake off. Just wait and build serious friendships first. Sometimes good relationships start off as close friendships. Maybe someone will take an interest in you first and then they'll ask you out.
  20. Just don't go overboard with the censorship and say that topics about sexual orientation, GLBT (gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender) related topics (discrimination awareness and social equality and marriage equality), topics on what we believe, etc. should be censored. This is not a Christian forum. It is religiously neutral. Some people may find homosexuality or transpeople "disgusting" due to "religious" reasons. Really count those people for who they are: intolerant. Of course we shouldn't talk about sexual acts and the like, but talking about sexuality isn't exclusively about "having sex." Sexual preference (as in attraction, not talk about sexual positions) is okay, but talking about what you did last night with your partner is not anyone's business but between the two consenting partners only. Anyway how far will the censorship on words go? As far as religious tolerance goes, use the Witches Code, as I call it: 'Harm none.' It's a basic Wiccan principle that is relevant to how far we go with religious tolerance. If it violates that, I don't think anyone should be not allowed to say something negative about that religious belief that harms someone, whether it be harassment, any kind of abuse, or violence. Just my two cents' worth.
  21. I love the stereotypical British accent.
  22. Thanks. Someone has finally answered my question. I suppose this priority alert applies to all NATO countries?
  23. Anybody sometimes feel like they have trouble sleeping without some sort of dim light source on, or even the closet door shut?
  24. I'm also deathly afraid of any flying insect with stingers. I used to have a huge phobia from porcelain dolls. (Long story, basically my dad told me bedtime stories about evil porcelain dolls killing people.) I am not really afraid of any kind of doll anymore, but I sometimes can't help feeling watched if one of them is in the same room as me. They seem to be staring at me. Strangely, I was never afraid of Barbie dolls. But porcelain dolls and Raggedy Anne have always given me chills.
  25. ...but anime will love on forever!
