  1. Think of it this way, would we learn anything, or try to do anything more if we were perfect? If there is a meaning to life, it can not be fulfilled if everthing was all rainbows and sunshine, if we start out perfect, we end out the same way, nothings new, nothing changes, imperfection is key if we are to suppost to have a meaning, without it, there is no point, nothing is learned, or gained, because we had everthing to begin with. Plus don't you think a perfect world would be creepy as hell? Of course, perfection can be viewed by several different angles, its all up to opinion, whats perfect to one, is imperfect to another.
  2. As a Christian, barihawk most likely believes that blasphemy is a terrible sin. Death, although an evil event in the Christian faith, would be much more welcomed than blasphemy. Most Christians I know would rather die than commit blasphemy, knowing that God will take care of their family when they die. If he couldn't take care of you, how do you think hes going to take care of your family? :-$
  3. A man looking into the mirror only to see a dark, evil looking, reflection of himself. For text: Am I the only one that can see the dark reflection in the mirror? If you want I can give more of a description of my entire idea, but thats the basic outline of it.
  4. Why, because you've been taught that it's taboo? Read up on the Darwin awards dude :P . Its about respecting those who have died, but, even though I feel wrong doing it, I cannot help but laugh when reading the Darwin Awards lol.
  5. I got it today, with the gigantic, 382 page strategy guide, this is one of the biggest strategy guides I've ever seen for a consol game, so this game is sure to keep me entertained for quite a while. I loved the Dark Cloud games, though I haven't played Dragon Quest VIII(Partially cause the characters looks too much like Dragon Ball Z for my liking). This game has apparently hit it big in Japan (Though what hasn't? lol), its a game about space pirates, though it looks much better than any normal space rpgs(I would usually turn it down if it wasn't, I don't like many space/futuristic rpgs). Its site is http://www.roguegalaxy-thegame.com.
  6. What I meant to say was that evolution has all the evidence mounted up against creationism. Though you can't prove a creator exists, you can't really disprove it, I say this thread can be answered with plausible but not proven.
  7. Evolution and religion can easily go together, only the creationists are stopping this from happening, evolution has all the evidence mounted against creationism, though the creationists are apparently too blind to see whats right in front of them. Once again an opinion with no facts to back it up. This OT forum is never going to get anywhere until people back opinions with facts. That is the only way for educational positive dialogue to take place. I would like to see some solid facts come from creationists then, cause the only things I have heard from their mouths are the tiny flaws within the theory of evolution, they have not once given any sort of evidence to back up any of the constant dribble coming out of their mouths.
  8. Pault, I have a question in response to your question. If a person is tripping on drugs, walks out in the street in front of a bus but all they see is a giant gentle furry pink elephant coming to hug them instead of a bus and then that bus runs them over splattering their brains all over the windshield. What is the reality of their situation? Were they correct that a giant gentle furry pink elephant came to hug them or was it really just a bus about to make them road kill the entire time? Perception: I am about to get a wonderful hug Reality: A bus is about to kill you Lesson: Don't do drugs. :P Noticed how I said permanent, and not temporary. I was not referring to the actual inebriation that takes place during the use of the drug, but to the profound and life long effects of responsibly using powerful psychadelics such as lsd, salvia, magic mushrooms, etc... to open the mind and soothe the soul. Ok... Have you been doing these drugs?
  9. Its such a shame too... They did so well with the PS2.
  10. Lets hope they reduce PSP prices as well, they are going for the same price as the Wiis, and they've been out for how long now? I'm definatly not going to be getting a PS3 any time soon, even f they dropped the price more, cause it doesn't even seem to have any decent games on it yet.
  11. I'm definatly going to get it.
  12. This is getting rather annoying. -.- I've been showing you proof dude, but I will say it again, if there was no time, we would just be unlinked instances, thus we cannot move, cannot think, cannot do anything, we would just be frozen, mere pictures of reality, every fraction of a second would be a different frozen instance, unable to go on to the next one due to the link of time not existing.
  13. Doesn't matter, the cycle still goes on.
  14. Bad. Proof? I don't need proof. It's all around you. Spray painted onto buildings. On the news. On websites. Written in chalk on the side of a church. "GOD SUCKS BURN IN HELL" That's nothing compared to how Christians treat others sometimes. ;) Yup, I could bring up millions of quotes of Christians saying that we are all going to go to he.ll because we doubt the existance of god.
  15. It does not matter how the flow of time is caused, time still exists. Think of it this way, animation is caused by linking one picture to several others, think of these pictures as instances, and the cycle of animation shows time, if the animation cycle doesn't run, all you have is a bunch of unlinked instances, that would be how it would be if we didn't have time.
  16. People try to think of the universe in a historical sense, as in a timeline. If time doesnt exist, that would prove to be impossible. History is our only link to the past, like I said, it gives us a good grasp on what happened before our time, if we didn't look at the universe historically, how would we look at it? Time indeed exists, else we would be stuck in one instance, not able to move on, no matter how we look at existance, this one thing is an absolute fact
  17. Memories fufill that. No one can be shure the past is real, no matter how many artifacts we have. We have never lived in the past. Records are the only way into the past. And those links are imaginary, arent they? They have no physical bonds. That doesn't have to do with time though, time links a real instance to another real instance. Just because we don't have a full knowledge of what happened, does not mean it effects time, it effects our view of history, yes, but it doesn't effect what really happened in the time that went by. Also, we use evidence to know what happened before our time, it may not show absolutly everything, but it shows quite a lot and gives us somewhat of a grasp on what went on. Why exactly are we talking about time?
  18. No, time is the line linking one instance to the other.
  19. I second that notion. :P
  20. Because he is an abstract concept, and randomness is worth defending untill the end. God is everything. He is nothing. It makes more sense to defend his existence if you don't believe in him, given his extremely vengeful nature. If we don't know for a fact he exists then how are we to know hes one to hold a grudge? I believe he may exist, its possible, though its definatly not a fact, seeing as there is absolutly no evidence to prove his existance, even if there was, the chance of him being exactly as Christians make him out to be is extremly slim, there are infinate possibilities as to how god would be if he did exist, so, even if he existed its extremly doubtful that anyone in existance is or ever was right. God couldn't have created the universe, because he is the universe. Then how was God created? Why does It always have to been created? What if, through a form of a warp in time and dimensions that we won't understand for a few millenia, It always has existed? Pault, I totally agree with you that God is most likely the universe itself. Personally, I believe it to be all the matter, energy, and "soul" of the universe. Basically a summation of my beliefs. From what I know and have learned, it seems like the most logical view of God, personally. Really, the only possibility if we put it in our terms of logic, is that he has always been, though I would really like to know how that is. Of course there is the fact that the creator doesn't necessarily abide by its creations logic. As I have explained before, its like a animator and an animation, the animator can make its animation shoot firebolts out of its eyes and live through things that would normally kill him, though it doesn't necessarily mean he is able to do the same. Yes, I know I have pretty much just answered my own question, though I do like to hear other theories, and just because it is possible doesn't mean it is true.

Its by the creaters of Dark Cloud, and Dragon Quest VIII, and I've been told its suppost to be somewhat like playing Zelda. I'm getting payed tommorow so I'm going to get it right after I cash my check. Anyone else going to get it/already got it?
  22. Um .. I hope I'm not the only one hearing this picture scream "I AM GAY!", am I? :uhh:  , I knew someone would say that. I think it looks awesome though and I know alot of women find it attractive. I'm not gay :XD: . Just because a guy likes to take care of himself doesnt make him gay  It makes him metrosexual:
  23. Because he is an abstract concept, and randomness is worth defending untill the end. God is everything. He is nothing. 24. Irrelevant. Not even close to irrelevance...If it were never written, does God still exist? Does he? If it was never written to be passed on from person to person, does he still exist? It seems irrelevant to you because you have this cloud around you that disallows you from asking weither or not God actually exists. You've been raised to believe, nay, to know that he does. But if the Bible was never written, does God still exist? That's a pretty good question, actually. You just can't answer it. And Barihawk, that wasn't flaming of spelling. That was me actually committing the unforgivable sin of typoing. Though its against the point you are trying to make, people would still believe in having a creator whether its written about or not. Though to answer your question, it depends on if there really is a god like the Christians make him out to be, if he is real, then yes he is, but if he isn't, its not very likely, though some people would probably hold onto the theory of his existance, their ideas of it, compared to this realitys Christians, would be skewed, seeing as stories passed on by mouth inevitably become warped over time.
  25. Pic doesn't show dude.
