Seems to me to be a graphically enhanced Mii world. Though it does look pretty cool.

Thus why everyone hates America, we automatically think that just because we are free and have rights, that we automatically have the right to go into other countries and tell them that your way is wrong and ours is right. We think we are superior to everything else on the world, when really, if we would just get our heads out of our ***** and actually try to help in a caring way, not just in a way that says "We are only helping you because it benefits us", then maybe we would actually be liked in this world.

You know, I was trying not to say this, but Blue, you sound more like the ultra Sony fanboy with each and every word you type. Do you by any chance have an alter in your room just for the PS3 to sit on and do you tend to find yourself praying to it daily? Cause that is how obsessed you sound. On a different note, I finally got ahold of a Wii today, had to wait outside of Gamestop from 9am to 11am(Actually the last hour was waiting inside, but still), and I somehow was first in line, right after I got there several people got in line behind me, funny thing is though, they only got 2 in, so a lot of people were ticked off, the 3rd guy in line was literally yelling at the store employee because of it, which only made me prouder to be first just to see that guy miss the last shipment for a month, the other person to get it was a kind lady who was getting it for her son's birthday. Even more amazing is I survived without any injuries or bullet wounds lol.

Come here and take it out on everyone else, they don't know you, they don't even know where you live. :twisted: Lol actually I agree with Blood to an extent, get yourself a punching bag(A younger sibling works just as well) take out all your frustration and such out on it and then go lay down or take a bath, you'll find it a lot easier to relax after beating something up.

I'd make it so I was a bit more outgoing throughout school, I usually kept to myself and wouldn't say too much unless it was for a class. Yeah, I had good grades and I was basically teachers pet in the majority of my classes, but I have barely any good memorys to speak of, just a wasted childhood, I'd give all of my knowledge and grades just to have lived life when I had more of a chance to.

Keep in mind many companies are jumping ship on Sony because of how the PS3 is doing, and joining up with Nintendo and Microsoft, so even though the Gamecube was a system for children, you can almost be sure that the wii is going to be targeted for the older audience as well as the younger. If Square enix leaves Sony for Nintendo like people are talking about then the PS3 will more than likely fail, seeing as the main thing that has held Sony up is their RPGs, get rid of them and they are doomed, they can't live off of gruesome games seeing as Xbox is already the best system for that, and platformers are Nintendos thing, thus all that are really left are the more sport oriented games, which never get much attention, no matter how good they are.

See, this is what I'm talking about how you don't know. The combat in *any* MMO I have played is infinantly more complex than runescape is. Runescapes combat consits of click on a mob and watch yourself auto attack. Every once and a while you can maybe use a special weapon ability. Runescapes combat is also easily trained while you don't even look at the game, I mean, come on! Out of that list Anarchy Online/Lineage II/Ryzom/Silkroad and EvE were never *criticly aclaimed* games that were praised by the masses. Ultima Online is praised by the PvP community but back when it came out it was overshadowed by Everquest. And yes, I have played some 'popular' MMO's, but they got that way for a reason. These games bring so much more to the 'table' so to speak than runescape does. Anything from a much better and enhanced combat system such as tons of skills to use. In WoW usualy all my characters have 3-4 12 slot hotbars filled with varrious skills. The gameworlds are also *larger* than runescapes and the PvP in some of the games is more meaningful (or actualy fun because you die more than once a full moon). Again, you have no idea what I do but I can easily multi task. What do you think me working on art all the time is for? Also you don't need to be an animator, I'm probaly going to go into the 3D design portion. *sigh* yes, you obviously need to have tallent. However you don't need to sit in the top 1% of artists or whatever to land a job in the industry. You would be amazed how many companys there are out there. Even big time companys such as blizzard have sections on their website which say they are hiring. I can't help but take offense to this. I've been working with digital art for probaly over 4 years now (closer to 5 I think) and it has always been my goal to do game design. It isn't because t looks "fun" but its because I have always had a love for games and creating them. A good MMO, tough thing to really single out a list of reasons. The bottom line is if it is fun I will play it. However, things I find fun include: - Open PvP system. if it doesn't have PvP than it isn't worth anything in my book (also full loot PvP is nice) - Large game world. - Plenty of skills and ways to advance your character, not a cookie-cutter character design. - Interesting encounters that force you to think in combat. These can be in the form of dungeons or simple daily encounters with mobs. Something where you can sit afk and gain xp is a no go in my book. Please, next time, don't put words into my mouth crimson. I never said I look for something on the top 10 list, I never have. it took me nearly 2 years to try WoW because I was playing better things and, still, I play it only because there isn't much out there right now that is good. Agreed, agreed. 1. Thus 1 reason why I never want to play those MMOs, I can't stand games that are all about combat and nothing else, they are way too repetitive for my taste. I am not doubting there are games better than RS, in fact there are many I prefer to RS, but RS is still a decent game, nothing to deserve the constant insults that have been flung at it. 2. They may not have been critically praised as you've said, but there is, or at least was, much talk about each of those games, of course I have been to many different mmo forums and I'm sure many views are very biased, but still. 3. I know there are a lot of companies out there, yet only a hand full are considered great, what do you want to bet that by the time you get out of college all those jobs will be taken? I mean think about the countless number of people who are hoping to get a job in the gaming industry, they are even putting classes in high school for it because of the high interest, I personally hope to have a gaming career myself, though I try to keep in mind the reality of things thus I don't make promises I don't know I can keep. 6. It was an honest question, not something to get offended about, you see the majority of people who say they will make games greater than RS haven't the slightest clue about how to make a game, to tell you the truth, your the first one I've seen who has ever had any experience, and I commend you for it, perhaps you will someday make a greater game than RS, either way, I look forward to seeing your work in the future. As you can probably guess, I'm sick of people thinking that game design is a slack off job and you can make a great game in a weeks time, a month at most, its horribly undermining the gaming industry and unfortunatly it seems to be a very popular thought in this day in age. 7. Everyone thinks the PS3 has a weaker library yet it is more diverse and has MORE games :lol: Read all you have posted on this thread again and then tell me, truthfully, that you are not claiming that the Wii completly sucks. And I really don't see much diversity compared to the Wii, but I'm not going to start this entire arguement over again just when it has finally settled down, so believe whatever you want.

I've played (or at least have tried): Ultima Online, Everquest II, WoW, EvE Online, Ryzom, Lineage II, Guild Wars (not really an mmo but whatever), Silkroad Online, City of villans, Anarchy Online, runescape and probaly some other random Korean MMOs I have tried. The only reason I play WoW (which I'm starting to get bored with) is there really is nothing else better out right now. Waiting for Age of Conan. Also I went to college for a semester last year but due to a few things I took a semester off. I am going to be going to college this fall however and going towards a graphic design degree in which I will be using in the game design world. Another thing I feel I should add: do you have any idea what I spend my time doing? Most of the time I am on these forums I am doing something else, be it at work or whatever. And you don't need to be "better than everyone else" to get a job in the game industry, you just need to be good and present yourself well. My point is if you had had the time to play some decent MMO's you would see what a laughing stock runescape is. And, from the look of your list, you really haven't even played a good MMO yet with the exception of maybe Ragnorok (did you play retail or a private server?). We should ;D. Exactly as I thought, Ultima, Everquest, WoW, pretty much every one of those game are massively praised by the gaming community, of course they are good games, but what puts them apart from Runescape other than graphics? Quickspell tabs? But my point is, you've only really played the games with good ratings, never even thinking to try anything different, so who are you to talk about the MMO world? You spend you time at work on here? That basically proves you have nothing better to do than spend it whining on these forums. Have you even thought to try building up a portfolio of animations and games to better your chances? Or to even try animation and game design out? And yes, you do have to be better than everyone else that applies at a high class video game company, they arn't looking for presentation and how much of a boy scout you can be, they are looking for actual talent, if it was between you and 1 other guy, the other guy coming in in a t shirt and shorts, yet has a very good portfolio, and all you really do is come in with a business suit and say "Give me a chance, I'm sure I can be very good at it." who do you think they will hire? There are thousands of people going through gaming colleges hoping to get a job in a big time company, yet in comparison, there are very few companys, and all companies big or small have limited budgets, thus not many of these people are going to get jobs, they pick out the best out of them all and hire them, the majority of them will never have a chance. They want actual talent, do you have actual talent? Do you have the drive to even achieve this talent, or do you just want to get a job in the gaming industry because it looks fun? There is a difference. Whats the definition of a good MMO to you? Something on a top ten list or something thats actually good? I find Guild Wars, Pristontale, and Survival Project to be very good games, the others arn't great, but they arn't bad(Except for Dogs of the seas and a few of the others I haven't named off)(Yes, I play Ragnorok on a private server, Rebirth server to be precise).

I hate America, I hate our government, I hate a lot about it, but I would say it is a good place to live, depending on which state, I've lived in Kansas my whole life, and its said that the particular town I live in is a great place to raise a family, I can't disagree, the place is timid as hell, but I believe I've had a good uprising here, the schools are fairly good, many of the teachers I've had are great(Except for a few that probably didn't belong near children, but I'm not going to go there), its an over all great place to live if your looking to have a family, though I don't doubt there are better places, I may have learned a lot of the world around me, but I've never actually experienced it, thus there are more than likely better places to go.

Give me around 6-7 years and I will be making something better than it. (after i'm out of college / have a job in the game industry). Also, crimson, I know from the past you really have no knowledge whatsoever about MMOs outside of runescape. So please don't try and argue about them. I've played Survival Project, Guild Wars, Maple Story, Pristontale, Ragnorok, something called Dogs of the Seas(You want to talk about the laughing stock of Mmos check this game out, its horrible), probably a few more(A few years back I went searching for Mmos, so I've played quite a few)I'm soon to be trying LOTR Online when the beta opens up at the end of the month, so I know nothing about Mmos outside of RS? Let me guess, your one of those people who have only played games that everyone says are good and never even thought to look at anything else, am I right? And your idea of the rest of the Mmo world seems to only include WoW and maybe one or 2 more games, WoW maybe at the top of the Mmo list, and it may be a great game, but it certanly isn't the only other Mmo.

Two words for ya; Play WoW (that could be considered to be 4 words, but WoW is an accepted acronym, and you know what I'm on about anyhow). That, too, is a freaking internet game, played on the comp. And it has freaking great controls. So why should we all sell our comps and get consoles? Fine then, go play WoW, whatever you do, get off of here and stop your whining, RS may not be as good as other games, but if any of you have actually TRIED to make a game, you would know its much more complex than it looks and that it would take years of work to make a game half as good as even RS1. My statement still stands that RS is a perfectly decent game, stop insulting it constantly just because it doesn't fit your high standards of what a game should be. I'm sure if a mmo ever comes out thats better than WoW you'll all start complaining about WoW too, just because it isn't the best.

There will always be flaws with games, its to be expected, you can't exactly make anything perfect, there will always be those that wine and complain about this or that, I mean, heres your proof, Runescape is a perfectly decent game, yet everyone here seems to have made it their mission to make it look like crap. Mainly because it is crap. How many other games are you expected to click click click and swivel the camera around and believe it's "fun"? What are you expecting? Do you think the keyboard should be used too, or do you think they should make a special game controller for the computer just to play it with? Secret of Mana, Chrono Trigger, Super Mario RPG, and Kirby Super Star are the best ones apart from the more classic games like Donkey Kong and Super Mario. Of course each of these sell for $30-$50 each, and they are almost impossible to find(I'm still having trouble finding Chrono Trigger), but its well worth the money.

Actually, the clans I was mentioning earlier have high level requirements, the Death Rebels of Renegade was 90+, even though it was recently disbanded to try and start anew with a clan called Divine Flames of Retribution, like I said before, try looking on the official Runescape forums, you will find many good skilling and community clans.
