i think you missed the point, its not really a discussion thread. and im not talking about jagex REALLY doing this, just as a sopose what would hapen if thing. i did think about puting this in questionarys but i dident seam like a thread for that forum. so i put it here. it there is a better forum for this thread, im sorry for it not being there. Then why is this in General Discussion then? There is no reason to make a thread unless it has discussion value. That being said, hasn't the World Gate already opened and then closed? Why would it need to be open again? I also doubt any being can pass (or know of) through the portal without Guthix knowing about it.

I rarely have this problem, except when I have to leave the village. The same thing should apply to the cart guy as well (since you pay a static amount of coins I think - never had to pay more than 10gp) as it is with the Karamja boat and stuff.

I've heard that at least some bots are programmed to respond in quickchat, so you can still hold a "conversation".

You could try your luck. I got my first rune in under 1k tokens, although some have taken more than 10k+ tokens.

Before you buy anything, get 70(or 71, doesn't matter) prayer. Don't use curses until you can use Soul Split at the very least, anything below is not worth giving up Piety. Bandos is garbage, get only when you have enough stats to actually make the strength bonus count. Fighter torso is an excellent (in comparison) substitute, if you can put up with world 6 idiots. DFS is overrated, a defender will do just fine for most tasks and costs <insert cost of DFS> less. You won't need to use a godsword at this point, an SS will do just fine since your stats are not compatible with boss fighting, unless you fight stuff like the mole, and even then, a whip/dds combo will work just fine. Plus you save 18m on an entry level godsword (I think), which you can use to buy prayer. I'd say if you really needed one of those items, you should probably go for a BGS (or any other godsword), but I'd still advise against it at this point.

I've missed out on it too (didn't play during the event, fml), but I think that the brooch is an inferior ripoff compared to the egg. It's just not the same, and looks like Jagex just wanted to pacify the crowds by giving them kiddies a reward they won't use after the event (or god forbid, this week). Having said that, the event itself was great, and I loved some of the references/puns they put in there. Too bad the reward was garbage compared to the actual event.

I remember doing Shield of Arrav single-handedly. I saw some phoenix crossbows in the general store. I remembered it was for entry to the Black Arm gang and bought all of them (Black Arm gang was the first gang I talked to). Then I was stuck for a few months doing my own things when I saw a reward certificate on the floor. So I was in pretty high demand when I did Heroes'.

This looks... promising. I hated DotA on Warcraft 3, after playing for like 2 years and getting abused (including getting raged at for nothing) through a lot of matches. Might get this if I have too much time... but I'll have to admit that it will bring a breath of life to the games, maybe renew some interest in the game.

You know there's a thing called wireless internet. MM yeah, I wouldn't bet on wireless internet being everywhere, or everyone to have dongles for the sake of this gadget... it still looks like a waste of money even with those. I'll take whatever Nintendo/Sony gives any day over this though (not that I will ever buy anything, curse my lack of money).

This sounds really, really gimmicky. You need internet to play an MMO, and unless internet becomes a virus in the air, it's not likely that it will truly be "portable"; you still need access points and crap. The only way I see it working would be to plug in a portable adapter into the USB port.

They were probably thinknig about the F2Pers when they made the diary and not F2P/P2P as a whole. I think you'd go nuts trying to buy (using the seer's diary as an example) millions in bones and then painstakingly bury them one by one for 70 prayer, for example, while P2Pers get 100kexp/h (or more) by using the gilded altar. In comparison, skills like smithing are pretty fast, even for F2P, so it kind made sense to have it at such a level. Don't know about cooking/firemaking though. Or you can think about it as subliminal advertising: "Buy P2P and get harder achievements!!@#!@#$@$@#$@#$@#"

When you're doing horribly, the last thing you should do is continue playing and rage over it. If you suck suddenly for no apparent reason, just stop for a while. I don't know why, but it's always worked for me. On another note, I've just found out that VAC can't ban people for prestige hacking. I don't know if this is good news for me, but I've found several fun weapons that I couldn't use (because I don't have the challenges): Vector/P90/M14(21)EBR/M4A1/MP5K Extended Mags - So fun. I use Scavenger with everything except the MP5K and the P90, which I use Sleight of Hand. Hell, everything is so much fun with Extended Mags. SUPER SPRAY FTW MP5K/UMP45 Thermal - If you kick ass with this then you are pro. I've also realised that I'd take Red Tiger over Fall. I mean, it's great, but Red Tiger has this... more pronounced colour. This is a blessing is disguise, haha.

Good alternative if you can't cough up the cash or the effort to get to Ardougne. Did my first slayer task of bears there, in fact. I think there are some southeast or so from Varrock as well.

I've heard something about killing the defilers first, so the healers can't heal the queen because the archers are able to kill them. And also, looks like you need a new keyboard, 'cause your shift and punctuation keys are broken, apparently.

It's an improvement from "Dungeons of Daemonheim" though. About damn time they got rid of their implied "expansion pack". Still, never really did like those scrollers. They switch all the time, and makes it too... gimmicky. It's not like people will bother with those though (they just skip to the game). Aside from that, it's not half bad, except it looks a little too generic, like all those horrible China-esque RPG websites, in an attempt to draw more players, they make the site look high tech and crap. So in short: It's overdone, but tolerable. (I always did love the 3rd picture, that was when I started playing, around late 2005. It was simple, just the way I liked it)

Heh, I have no life too. I don't spend all my time on Runescape though (maybe about an hour a day tops, unless something is hooking me).

You could say that about almost anything people do, including reading. Your "reading" makes you so good at "research", that you come on to a Runescape fansite forum to take a stab at our lives. I ask you this: Don't you have anything better to do? Or in your own words: what are you doing?

I thought mystic staffs were the equivalent of a rune longsword...? I believe the idea was to try and bridge the gap between magic and melee back when it was released. ... but no one uses them anyway (SoL is the equivalent of a dragon weapon now, and no one uses it for melee I think).
