March 23, 200719 yr DO NOT. SEE. 300. It's just a movie with too much fighting and unrealisticly ripped guys with Korn music
April 9, 200719 yr DO NOT. SEE. 300. It's just a movie with too much fighting and unrealisticly ripped guys with Korn music  What the fuc* are you talking about? 300 is the best epic war movie I've ever seen. And this, what you called "unrealisticly ripped" is a real masterpiece. It should not be realistic it should remind people on comic book also thats the reason why they've muted some colours to follow comic book style. If you wanna see realistic movie go watch some real movies like "Troy". 300 is animated movie and it was harder to make these characters in 3D world then record scenes in real life :wall: . divxtitles.com

The problem with 300 is that it's all style and no substance. Visually it's impressive but apart from that there is very little that would make it a great war film. It has the flimsy of plots (it may be roughly based on history but the majority of this isn't explored), basically it's a single battle scene of 1Hr 40Mins and only 20Mins of setting the scene, creating some sort of feasable plot (okay the numbers aren't entirely accurate but thats how it felt). Also while it's 'comic book style', it shouldn't matter - even films shot in a 'comic book style' have to have certain key components like plot. Sin City for example was shot in a similar style but was done well. Also using this style an actors job is excactly the same as it would be if it had been shot in any other way so I don't understand how it's "harder to make these characters in 3D world." To me 300 follows the same trend as alot of other recent films, it's relies far too much on fancy computerised graphics and leaves key aspects such as plot & direction as an afterthough. The problem is that audiences (myself included) are drawn to these films regardless of quality as they make good looking trailers & therefore are a great money spinner for studios. He who learns must suffer, and, even in our sleep, pain that cannot forget falls drop by drop upon the heart, and in our own despair, against our will, comes wisdom to us by the awful grace of God. - Aeschylus (525 BC - 456 BC)
April 11, 200719 yr Jarhead - Legendry, I mean seriously. It tells the truth, is funny and looks cool. Saving Private Ryan - Really good WWII movie. I like the battle at the end. 300 - Looks really good, based on an the ancient Battle of Thermopylae. Good fighting scenes Black Hawk Down - Fairly good, the book bored me but the film was well done. The Battle of Britain - Bit older than the others but still good.

April 12, 200719 yr Bridge on the river Kwai The Dam busters yeah The Bridge on the River Kwai is one of my favourite movies ever. Made in 1957 it isn't the newest movie out there so don't be expecting graphic fire fights like in enemy at the gates. Buts it got everything from the stubborn english colonel to ruthless Japanese torture. Here is the imdb link: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0050212/
April 12, 200719 yr Gotta see Saving Private Ryan, and We Were Soldiers, they are my favourites, i prefer action to story in war movies, considering that oh, i already know what happens in WW2! i really don't like Apocalypse Now, too weird and boring, Platoon, i saw some of but i wasn't that impressed, Vietnam movies just aren't that good (̮̤̉̉ept WWS) 300 is also a great movie but it's at cinema. As for horror/pshyco/thriller movies, the final destination trilogy is a great set of films Sig by me....
April 12, 200719 yr Since re-watching it earlier today you could class The Good, The Bad and The Ugly as a war film. Set against the backdrop the the American Civil War. With so many trees in the city you could see the spring coming each day until a night of warm wind would bring it suddenly in one morning. Sometimes the heavy cold rains would beat it back so that it would seem that it would never come and that you were losing a season out of your life. But you knew that there would always be the spring as you knew the river would flow again after it was frozen. When the cold rains kept on and killed the spring, it was as though a young person had died for no reason. In those days though the spring always came finally but it was frightening that it had nearly failed.
