The strength stats of the anchor are better than the whip, but the whip is faster. Which one is truly better? Whip and rune defender: 101 slash, 87 strength Anchor: 92 crush, 100 strength Thanx for the help... If it's long sword speed, then I would say that the anchor has a clear advantage because of it's strength and crushing attack, but if it's much slower then I would stick with the whip. :^_^: I drew that smilie, btw, along with a few more used by this site.Classic bloodveld for lyph3! Ts_Stormrage Posted March 20, 2007 Share Posted March 20, 2007 Actually, in the long run, whip is better. In the short run :P you can count the specs effectiveness. Whip has a slightly increased attack that drains run energy. Anchor has DOUBLE the chance to hit, and that hit lowers target's Attack, Defense, Magic or Range level by 10% of the damage you inflicted. That and the fact that you can augment the whip's accuracy with a warrior helm, where for added crush bonus I believe you are stuck to one of the highly valuable waterbirth rings, one which is also available to add more slash attack bonus... So to sum it up: for training, stick to the whip and rune defender, since you can hit more often with only slightly decreased max damage... But for PK-ing or dueling, I'd take the anchor any day, since then your opponents armor is taken into account as well as how quickly you can deal your damage. And with 2 specs where I DOUBLE my chance to hit massivly on you, I doubt even a DDS spec can beat it. The whip is definitely better, but not so much so as it was before they de-nerfed the anchor. LOL I've never found grammar/spelling Nazi's effective either. On topic - Whip, just for the speed of the damn thing, anchor is rocking for strength training though.
