ashozzy2
I think we (Britain) are well within our rights to use military action to get our troops back. Please no hippies telling me how war is bad, if a country kidnaps soldiers they have to accept repercusions.

You might not know this being so pig headed and all but Britain is running the south of Iraq and, although Baghdad will obviously have most of the insurgent attacks, there are a lot less in Basra which we are controlling. hohto
The point here is who actually owns that water area. If Iran owns it, they did like majority of countries would have done. A war against Iran now would be the biggest mistake in war history since Hitler's decicion to attack against the Soviet Union in 1941. USA already got so many fronts that one more wouldn't be possible, at least not if they want to keep all fronts in good power. For a full war they'd need a lot of allies and who seriously would want to send thousands of troops there to die? It would be a political suicide. Of course there would be some countries sending few troops (like Estonia or Poland now in Iraq), but tat would play too big role. According to wikipedia, Iran has almost 1 million soldiers. Attacking them would also most likely cause a big amount of other muslims join them. Their items aren't also as badly destoyed as Iraq's were. A war against Iran wouldn't be anything nice and it could cost more than Vietnam did. I'd rather die for what I believe in than live for anything else.Name Removed by Administrator ~Turtlefemm
Duke_Freedom
A war against Iran now would be the biggest mistake in war history since Hitler's decicion to attack against the Soviet Union in 1941. Not attacking Iran might be as big as a mistake as allowing Hitler to ever gain power in Germany in the first place. Either way, these 15 soldiers are probably not going to be the cause of a war anyway. Nor do I believe in an all out war either - possibly a swift attack and perhaps not even executed by America. StrOwez
From what i gathered from the media and other sources; A British ship strayed into Iranian waters our side says we never, Iranians say we did. IMHO give Iran 24 hours to release the soldiers if not send the S.A.S. To get them, or bomb Tehran A friend to all is a friend to none.

hohto
Give them war and you'll get hell. Iraq has already been a nightmare to you and Iran would be more than a lot worse. Reuters published news that the captured Britons would have confessed being at wrong water areas. http://www.reuters.com/article/newsOne/ ... 0220070324 If that's true, I totally understand why they were captured. hohto
And getting ~1m soldiers, a lot of missiles, a real army and other technology would really help you as you can't even do really well against small iraqian groups? Tigra00
Yea, we can't get into a war with Iran right now. They're an actual militarized country...You know, one with an army and air force capable of actually putting up a fight...Unlike Iraq, who's leader ran and hid in a hole in the ground, quite literally, when we attacked. The popularity of any given religion today depends on the victories of the wars they fought in the past. - Me!
BlueLancer
It turns out they were on iranian waters after all. Why would they all of a sudden "kidnap" british soldiers? Iran would be rather refreshing actually, it is a standard war plan, blow up factories, cut off supply lines, eradicate the enemy in their cute little uniforms.....all done in time for 4th of july. Of course they are going to "confess". This is standard BS the enemy does, even back in vietnam, catch the soldiers, force them to "confess" to "war crimes" then hold a phony court hearing, execute at dawn...or release like in 2004, before the UN decides you aren't playing nice and calls the "world police" (USA) to come drop some toys on your heads. They foolishly think political damage is done, even though the free thinking countries recognize it is BS, the idiot regimes can use it to support their agenda within their countries, or regional support networks. *hands over a light bulb, installs and turns it on* Voila! *pats pockets for crayons....* nope, fresh out, guess this will have to suffice.
