And, no pest control ftw :D all ive done there is maging dharoking and ranging, and points have gone to herbs ;) My magic lvl comes truly from offensive spells, been a quite while down with metal dragons, rexy and barrows :

Its a bit annoying when people use Pest Control but its there to be used so its ok. What's much more annoying is when people deny using it.

 

 

 

Basically if you're mage level did come from "truly offensive spells" you would have about 14M hp xp, atleast. As it is, you don't. If you did PC/alch/tele/curse/whatever non offensive spell your mage xp you would be 12M hp xp so not 99. Either way you don't add up.

Note: magic gains hp xp 2 by every hit, 2 magic xp each hit, AND the base magic xp from every spell. I also have alched, some bows ive made, and such. Count in the all teleportations ive made trough this game, i am pretty sure i will land near 13m =)
