I have done it before but only for role playing reasons, and with people I already know.

 

 

 

I hate the noobs that stand around begging for a partner, be they gold-digger or sadact. One time I said yes, only to find out minutes later my new girlfriend was 9 years old, at which point I became incredibly disturbed by my participation and logged out.

 

 

 

Another time I agreed to see how well he/she would hustle me for my gold. Wasn't subtle. Something like this:

Thats one area where we disagree. I find it more fun to confuse them than to get them killed. \

I admit, I've had internet relationships... just because "my type" is VERY hard to come by where I live. Don't ask me to explain that. -.-

 

 

 

But over a game, it seems a bit shady. Always wondering if they're going to just mooch off of you or if they're just hormonal and want to cyber all the time. Bleh.

 

 

 

Usually, I try to be as nice as I can and say something to the effect of, "Thank you, you're very sweet but I'm not interested." If they continue to bug me, I just put them on my ignore list for the day.

2 reasons they do this actually:

 

1. They want a relationship online (dont ask why they dont go to chatrooms made for the purpose of dating) or just want a friend to talk to (why cant they just ask to be a friend, why all the way to bf/gf) :roll:

 

2. They want to suck you dry of items and then disappear. These types are usually seen walking around crowded cities and noobtown lumbridge. Never express sympathy to beggars. That'll just encourage them to beg more.

I have no problem with the relationships that actually mean something. I am sure you are referring to the random "LOL B MY BF" types of relationships and in that case, they are incredibly sad and stupid.

Ontopic: I remember a suggestion to make a rule against RS dating and things. I think that having a real-life relationship and continuing it into RS is fine, but I just hate the little 8 year old boys asking girls (probably 40 year old men in real life) if they will be their girlfriend. Honestly.

Well I did once, and it was nice to have someone to talk to and hang out with each time you played, but it wasn't like serious if it can get serious over the net. (plz)

I have foiund that the most sure fire way to get rid of the ones that follow is to say: No thanks, I can do better. Or something to that extent. It's a bit mean to the ones who actualy just want to date you, but since the majoraty want my stuff I have no problems with this method. Many people will at least pretend to be hurt just pray they dont follow you saying how mean you are (hasent happened yet but...)

When i go to f2p, every girl and her dog is following me around asking for me to be their boyfriend... even some guys :-s
