Mercifull
In a few weeks (likely to be 18th-25th July) I will be visiting Sweden. I'm flying with a mate of mine into Stockholm and then we were planning on travelling about a bit to other cities staying in hotels or taking night trains etc. Anyone here got advice on good places to go, what to see and if there's anything special like street festivals going on at that time? Cheers :D Mercifull <3 Suzi "We don't want players to be able to buy their way to success in RuneScape. If we let players start doing this, it devalues RuneScape for others. Bubsa
Bring me back a crate of Koppaberg? This is how much you all raised for charity. Thank you.
hohto
The best thing in Sweden: boat to Helsinki. Anyways at Stockholm you should see their old city "gamla stad" and try riding with "tunnelbana". There's also a good amount of ex-wife candidates to you, know you love those blondes. And Bubsa, even tho he goes to Sweden, why should he buy cider :\ I'd rather die for what I believe in than live for anything else.Name Removed by Administrator ~Turtlefemm
Azvareth
To be honest there aren't a whole lot of interesting sights or "must-sees" in Stockholm. What I would recommend would be to simply stroll around in Stockholm city, especially in "Gamla Stan" (Old Town) where you can find a lot of cool shops as well as some great small caf̮̩̉̉s. Some places in Old Town also have some pretty interesting history so if you're into that sort of stuff I would recommend hiring a tour guide. We used to do that a lot in groundschool and I always found it interesting. You could also visit Naturhistoriska Riksmuseet (The Swedish Museum of Natural History), as well as Tekniska Museet (National Museum of Science And Technology). If you're going to Naturhistoriska Riksmuseet then I would highly recommend that you go and see one of the documentaries shown on Cosmonova. Cosmonova is a domeshaped IMAX-cinema that shows documentaries on a 760 squaremeter screen. It was the world's biggest cinema screen at one point, I don't know if it still is - anwyay, it's pretty sweet (feels like a rollercoaster). However all shows are in Swedish, but you'll be able to buy ear phones for English narration (for most shows). Other than that, I don't know... since I don't know what sort of things you usually go see when you go abroad, so now I'm just mentioning some general touristy things most foreigners visit when coming here. I'll ask my parents and sister for tips later though. I think you'd appreciate Old Town however, so you should definitely go there. edit: hohto, unless you just made a sarcastic remark, Kopparberg also makes beer. Not my personal favourite but it works. hohto
edit: hohto, unless you just made a sarcastic remark, Kopparberg also makes beer. Not my personal favourite but it works. Oh rly? Let's see how often I've visited Sweden... *runs out of fingers*. However, swedish beers are usually a bit over 2% or taste horrible :P Swedish beers are a joke here on the other side of the bay ;) I'd rather die for what I believe in than live for anything else.Name Removed by Administrator ~Turtlefemm

Sumpta
Go to Nynanshamn and visit my vacation love. :'( Tut tut, you're done pining over holiday loves! On topic: haven't got any useful holiday advice, but you're welcome to hand some out when you're back. I'm thinking of visiting Sweden later this summer :D One tip though: learn some Swedish. It's an adorable language.
Bubsa
Hohto, it's damn good cider that's why :P Pretty hard to get in the UK except for Ikea, which I tend to avoid the whole "Hey, if this is foldable furniture, can you unfold it? *SMASH*" incident. There's one near home that sells it, but not near halls. This is how much you all raised for charity. Thank you.

The time on the boat is usually really fun. Although, make sure it's a round-trip as you don't want be stuck in Helsinki. Other than that I would suggest you to enjoy an ice cream at Ersta Terass. The view is great and how can you go wrong with ice cream in the summer?

Azvareth
Azvareth, cider and a man don't fit too well to same sentence :P I already called that oxymoron!! And trust me, my friends make fun of me pretty much every time we go out, so there's nothing any of you can say that I haven't heard already. :P I'll drink pretty much any sort of liqour -- as for wine or beer? No no. Not yet anyway. I'm not a very sociable drinker. :( OT: If you're into amusement parks, you could also spend a day/a few hours at Gr̮̦̉̉na Lund - it's one of the two most famous amusement parks in Sweden (the other one being Liseberg and is in Gothenburg). It's pretty big, and it has some pretty fun rides.

How2PK
There was a good game as well, involving a group of people and pie...I believe Azvy was pretty good at it. Maybe you could play this traditional Swedish game in a caf̮̩̉̉ or something. Signature by Maurice SendakWhen the stars make you drool just like a pasta fazool, that's amore! It's MalmÃÆÃâÃâö, Lappland, smÃÆÃâÃâörgÃÆÃâÃâÃÂ¥sbord and your swedish sentences doen't make too much sense. What you wrote means: Here thinks fun (fun is not a swedish word but I guess you mean fun in english)! Sweden is a best countrier (lander is not a swedish word, however "land" means country).
