ever been merched?

Have you ever made a trade and been relatively satisfied with it and then painfully discovered that you were actually merched. By merched I do not mean scammed or conned simply been caught by a merchant and lost money.

Well share your stories :ohnoes:

Hehe, yeah. Someone offered me a price that I was over contempt with but when I saw him selling that item for higher I felt like I got a terrible deal.

Sold a d spear (p) for 80k and as I was about to leave, the player said "Selling d spear 150k!" and everyone swarmed in... ARGH! <.<

Then there was that time with my good old santa. Sold it for 500k (coming back from a nice long break and in need of a little cash) and then he told me it was worth 1 mill... Great... (I was still a level 60 yew chopping noob so it was a lot of money to me).

I'm actually knowingly being merchanted quite frequently :XD: I usually overpay for my supplies so I can get it in bulk faster. I don't mine it :P

EDIT:

i always over buy and under sell.

Same here :) Just because I like to get skills done quickly. Over buy so I can get my supplies fast and under sell so I can get the product off my hands and start over :XD:

well, the other day I was selling natures in fally world 2, and I was selling for 305 each.

I sold 10k to a guy, who promptly started yelling "selling 10k natures 310 each!"

I feel dumb :wall:

That's why I sell for 310, and 315 each when possible \'

All the time. I get tired of trying to sell something, so i look at what people are saying they will sell it for, and go a little lower.

Or, when I bought my dragon chain, they were selling for 23m at the time. I tried for a bit to get for 23, then said "Buying dragon chain, 25m -spoof"

flooded with trade requests.

I get merch'ed a lot of times. I just don't care for a measly few thousand GP. I'll rather train or talk rather than to wait a extra 15 minutes selling my stuff.

Same here, I'm really annoyed by people who complain about 1% extra..

In the time you've wasted with that, you could've earned the money back already

me too. if the buyer wants to spend his time trying to make a few gp on what he's bought then good for him, but i'd rather get back to training than stand in a bank typing the same thing over and over for half an hour.

Just like most people, I usually overbuy and undersell. I have some contempt for the rs market, and I just try to get out of there as quick as possible. The faster, the better.

Well I would say that time is more valuable money because I can turn time into skills or I can turn time into money. I also over buy and under sell just because I don't have time to wait 30 mins to save 50k. In that 30 mins I could easily make more than 50k and get plenty of skill experience also.

Ive seen a guy buy white knight armor off another guy for 300k (legs and body I think). The guy selling it only wanted a few k but this guy offered 300k for it! I tried to warn him but e except and said to me, "All white armor is at least 100k noob!!" He then ran off
