I also updated some old scans, since the Mithril dragon, along with a few other monsters on the list below, now show max hit on the scan whereas they didn't before. Strangely, even though red dragons only became a slayer monster AFTER the Smoking Kills quest, they were labeled as slayer monsters before that. But I re-scanned them anyways. Basically I rescanned all of the Ancient Cavern monsters and all colored dragons. Also note that "Baby dragon (blue)" and "Baby dragon (red)" have had their names changed to "Baby blue dragon" and "Baby red dragon", respectively. They are not new monsters!

Here's the list of what I've updated:

  1. Mithril dragon (level-304)
  2. Brutal green dragon (level-227)
  3. Ferocious barbarian spirit (level-166)
  4. Enraged barbarian spirit (level-166)
  5. Berserk barbarian spirit (level-166)
  6. Angry barbarian spirit (level-166)
  7. Skeleton hero (level-149)
  8. Skeleton warlord (level-132)
  9. Skeleton thug (level-132)
  10. Skeleton heavy (level-132)
  11. Skeleton brute (level-132)
  12. Lost barbarian (level-132)
  13. Confused barbarian (level-132)
  14. Waterfiend (level-115)

  15. Black dragon (level-227)
  16. Red dragon (level-152)
  17. Blue dragon (level-111)
  18. Green dragon (level-79)

  19. Baby black dragon (level-83)
  20. Baby red dragon (level-48)
  21. Baby blue dragon (level-48)

Also, keep your eyes peeled for a new slayer section of my Ultimate Monster Examine Guide, to be added soon.

  • Never trust anyone. You are always alone, and betrayal is inevitable.

Glad you enjoy it. :) Beware, the max hits are sometimes inaccurate (I think they're melee only) so take care to ensure you're attacking a melee-only monster.

Anyways, I found some scans I forgot to add.

Time for a guide update; here's the rest of the scans. I've actually had these, along with the last batch for a while now but have been busy and also unable to update due to technical issues. However, here they are! Only 33 left to complete the guide now; a big jump from 57!

  2. Added Witch's experiment (level-19)
  3. Added Witch's experiment (second form) (level-30)

  23. Added Ice Troll King (level-122)
  24. Added Giant scarab (level-191)
  25. Added Jungle demon (level-195)

Enjoy the new scans! Also, just as a reminder, if you're wondering why there's no section 5 of my guide, this is being saved for a special slayer section to be released in the future. And no, I can't and won't give any dates, sorry.

I already considered that. I can simply enter the Champions Challenge arena while someone else is fighting those two monsters, for example while someone is fighting the ghoul champion I can fight the skeleton champion. Then I can just beat my own ghoul champion scroll later.

  • 3 weeks later...

Just a small notice, my website is currently down right now as it is being migrated to a new server. This means you won't be able to view any of the monster examines on my guide for the time being. My hosting company says it should be back up within 2 to 4 hours. Until then, cheers!

My website is now back up so the guide should be working fine.

Also, an update!

Jagex FINALLY fixed Prime and Supreme's max hits (I was 100% right on my guesses, too) along with Ahrim's. So I have uploaded new scans of the Dagannoth Kings and all the Barrows brothers. Enjoy!

Good point, that's been changed to "0".

  1. Added Goblin (level-2) to the unscannable monsters list
  2. Added Chaos druid (level-13) to the unscannable monsters list

NOTE: These are from the Learning the Ropes tutorial quest, not the regular monsters (those have different HP).

wow nice guide o,O but i always thought jad could hit 99 :P guess 98 and 99 hpers are "safe" against him 8-)

remember that's melee. he can hit 99's with his mage and ranged attack.

His max with range or magic is also 97. I knew that before I read this guide. ::'

Sunday, August 17, 2008 - Added 1 new scan!

  1. Added Evil Chicken (level-38)

Phew! Collection complete on one aspect, I now have ALL the random event monster scans. Next task is the quest monsters, and after that, the final 11: the dreaded Champions' Challenge bosses. Wish me luck, everyone!

You deserve a medal for this, seriously. Good luck with the Challenge scrolls! :D

Glad to see someone appreciates the magnitude of this project! It's certainly been a long and difficult task to obtain all these scans. And thank you for the encouragement!

I never got a challange scroll

You need to have a lot of patience. I've only gotten the goblin and imp scrolls so far (pre monster examine so I'll need to get them again on my other account) and probably won't be getting the rest any time soon due to real world time constraints. Also, in case you were wondering, Jagex has said a ring of wealth doesn't affect your chances, so personally I'd wear a berserker ring for the extra 4 strength bonus. The drop rate is, on average, about 5000. I've gotten about 4 shield left halves, which are twice as rare as a champion scroll, so I'm not too worried. Just keep at it and you'll get them eventually!

Also, this is the 99th post on this guide... congratulations to the next poster on the 100th post of my guide. :)

Thanks, but I don't think a challange scroll rate is 1/5000. If this is true, I won't try it. Whats the reward for owning a champion?

I heard you get slayer bonus...

Oh and...100th Post \'

Gimme a cookie!!!

Absolutely amazing thing you got here... I've been using it for a while but never got around to saying thanks... so thanks!

Good luck on those last monsters too.
