cryztalwing
If this is sing into law, American's whould need to get the Homeland Security approval just get a job or keep the job they have.. No jobs for US citizens without Homeland Security approval Submitted by Canada IFP on Sat, 2007-05-26 18:00.Americas | United States | News US citizens who apply for a job will need prior approval from Department of Homeland Security under the terms immigration bill passed by the Senate this week. American Civil Liberties Union pointed out that the DHS's Employment Eligibility Verification System (EEVS) is error plagued and if the department makes a mistake in determining work eligibility, there will be virtually no way to challenge the error or recover lost wages due to the bill̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s prohibitions on judicial review. Even current employees will need to obtain eligibility approval from the DHS Within 60 days of the Immigration Reform Act of 2006 becoming law. "EEVS would be a financial and bureaucratic nightmare for both businesses and workers," said Timothy Sparapani, ACLU Legislative Counsel. "Under this already flawed program no one would be able to work in the U.S. without DHS approval - creating a ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãâ¹ÃâNo Work List̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢ similar to the government̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãâ¹ÃâNo Fly List.̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢ We need immigration reform, but not at this cost." The act allocates US$400 million for the implementation of the EEVS, but the Congressional Budgeting Office estimates the system to cost in excess of a billion dollars. http://pressesc.com/01180202266_eevs Back to top

indy500fan
I had to sign a paper from the Homeland Security department saying I wasn't a terrorist, wasn't planning on being a terrorist, and didn't know any terrorists when I applied for a job a month or two ago. Blipo
I believe there is also a law attempting to be passed (or has already been passed) granting the President the ability to act without Senate approval during any time when a crisis affects the USA. Lmao it's laughable that they think that these sorts of measures will be effective. I can't imagine a "terrorist" looking at the form and throwing up his arms shouting "okay you caught me out I'm a dirty low-life terrorist." All this is, is an attempt to block certain people who don't agree with the US government from getting jobs. Watch it'll be so well exploited. He who learns must suffer, and, even in our sleep, pain that cannot forget falls drop by drop upon the heart, and in our own despair, against our will, comes wisdom to us by the awful grace of God. - Aeschylus (525 BC - 456 BC)

I'm the decider." I don't think he quite gets how it works. He's not the most intelligent man on Earth. Zonorhc
Well, a dictatorship is the most efficient form of government... And I love how idiot voters (tautology, yeah) over there are still convinced that they're keeping this guy in power in the interests of liberty and democracy, even considering the fact that the US isn't actually a democracy to begin with. highlanders
Well, a dictatorship is the most efficient form of government... Well, laws and decisions are easily taken and applied, however it doesn't mean they are the best thing to do for the people. 2480+ total

I didn't say it would be good. Anyhow, with what voters seem to inflict upon themselves, a malevolent dictatorship might not be much of a step down for you lot.
