June 6, 200719 yr If you wanna talk about the increase of slayer then you also will have to talk about the huge increase of money in the economy. When abyssal whips first came out they sold for 30 mill+ for first little bit. By today economic standards this could be as much as 150M seeing as the price of rares has dramatically increased, and the price of raw materials has decreased due to autoers. People spending less on skills and more on saving for rares or other high priced items means there is more money lying around. It wouldnt surprise me if dark bows sold for 100M the first day (depending on drop rate) just because stakers want only the best and they are a multi billion gp section of runescape.
June 6, 200719 yr Haha me and Sxq_Power we're talking about this today. Wouldn't it be funny if they made the Dark bows untradable and all the people who had 85 slayer went to get 90 did it all for nothing :XD:  But I'm guessing since you only need 60 range for it.....but we don't know how good it will hit maybe 5-20m, prices will be insane on the first day do you even realize what you just said? your a lvl 75 slayer, and you are just digging a hole for yourself with that sentance. All 90+ slayers would get the best bow and could own all pc products straight away in the wildy. Btw, comparsion with a whip is very inappropriate, take for example partyhat prices- first whips were sold for eqvivalent of a partyhat set- now a partyhat set is 1.4B or smth- they wont go that high, but due to the fact of alot more money running through the economy and dark beasts being far harder to kill in tons than abyssals, the price should defenaly hit higher than the cheapest partyhat. What I meant was most people are trying to get 85-90 slayer mainly for the money, and if they made them untradable they would've got owned. But yeah they could pk with it Come to #tip-it on Swift IRC, if you're cool

June 6, 200719 yr Thank you xpx for more accurate numbers, I was no around when they were released and thought I joined shortly after I was never rich so I couldnt afford. I saw in another thread about the whips being more then a Phat set when first released. It really seems possible that people will pay 100M+ for this bow first day.
June 6, 200719 yr I just traded an easter egg for one of the new bows. Jagex made a last minute edit and called it a "Seercull" bow. It's pretty good but I don't understand the special, it must just give a boost to ranged or something I'll have to check it out. Honestly though, I don't think it's as good as it's been hyped up to be. I'd suggest if you don't have a lot of money you wait for the price drop as this wasn't worth the 8m.

June 6, 200719 yr dark bow: 30m D arrows: 3k Maybe some of you have memory loss, or just weren't there, but when whips came out, they were insanely expensive the first weeks (90M - 40M), now this drop is even harder to get than whips, expect a 30m start at the least.
June 7, 200719 yr There's a couple of things that people who compare this to whips are not taking into account. 1. Unless I'm mistaken, whips were released at the start of the Slayer skill. That means that when the first whips entered the market, there were only a tiny number of them, obtained by the very few people who power-leveled up to 85. In contrast, the day these dark bows are released there will be several THOUSAND players already able to get them. Big difference. 2. Wild pies. These will enable people with levels 85 to 89 to also go after these bows, adding several thousand more players to the hunt. I agree that they will start out in the millions, but they'll drop a lot faster than whips did. ~q Qeltar, aka Charles KozierokWebmaster, RuneScoop - Premium RuneScape Information for Expert Players -- Now Free!Featuring the Ultimate Guide to Dungeoneering -- everything you need to know to get the most of the new skill!
June 7, 200719 yr people will also remember how quickly whips went down and not want to make such a huge investment. personally I'm going to wait for the drop, no point in losing that much money.
