Adam007
When you have nothing going on in your real life you have to take accomplishments where you get them  Yeah, exactly. Keep in mind who's primarily bragging here. Teenage males who view everything as a competition. People set goals mainly in relation to what other players have. It's all about being the best. And when people get a taste of being the best in something, they'll let everyone know. Doesn't matter how big or how small, it's just human nature. Why do half of conversations while training start with "str lvl?" - people size each other up, and if they're the higher level, another chance to brag about it. I think your gender and age band stereotype is inappropriate as I am a teenage male and I strong dislike bragging. When it goes round asking say wc lvl and someone says like 63 I still say nice level and encourage them to keep going etc. I don't think I have ever once bragged intentionally or seriously about anything I have achieved in rs Operation Gold Sparkles :: Chompy Kills :: Full Profound :: Champions :: Barbarian Notes :: Champions Tackle Box :: MA RewardsDragonkin Journals :: Ports Stories :: Elder Chronicles :: Boss Slayer :: Penance King :: Kal'gerion Titles :: Gold Statue

dj_gerry_94
*Brags* Mori, this is such a coincedince, but the guy you killed on the photo was one of my best Rl friends,he had just made enough pking to buy a whip, and on his first trip out he got blitzed and specced without a chance to put item pro on lol. Anyway Back on topic,I think it is okay to brag,i mean once you get 99 in anything(yes even cooking!)it's great, and if your thread has 5k+ views, then it's obviously a great thread,so why not brag? Instead of super strength pots you would have spinach. :lol:Reply to a thread about Disney Buying Runescape
xpx
People come up to you and ask your stat lvls until they find one better than yours and brag. quote] i dont recall that ever happening to me  bragging is very annoying...i most hate people posting those huge 99 goal threads and bumping them all the time cause noone replies to them. Everyone makes a big fuss about every one of their 99 skills, but truth be told, they arent very extraordinary and should not be hyped so much. First to 99 Farming on 27. wizardguy31
When someone acheives something it is human nature to brag. This doesn't mean they should :) However I find it better to congratulate people on their accomplishments and then get on with what I was doing and if they continue to brag I simply pretend to listen  I resemble that remark!Achieved quest cape for first time on: 4-2-09 WOOHOO! GrimHams
I think its an american thing (enjoys the flames), in england people are more likely to say they're not as good at something whereas in America people are more confident of themselves and will say "yeah im great". atestarossa
eeh... yeah.. agree, agree.. and, agree :-w now.... I JUST GOT MY 100 COMBAT!!!! EVERYONE MUST LOVE ME NOW!!! on topic again: i really agree with you about that bragging isn't good. it's not bad to be proud about achievements you've done, and you should be.. but bragging, and start mocking others for having a lower level than you is just bad... but if you have worked for something a long time, you are allowed to say it :P
Wachtwoord
Yeah can be annoying although i find people who brag about stats with a real ego much more annoying. Off topic: Nice new signature pawclaw :) ty on topic: Some bragging I find alright if done with good taste. Such as say 100k+ views on a topic Getting a d chain drop Getting a 99 Getting 200m xp in a skill But ones like first post, I beat the new easy quest you didn't, Ha I'm 1 theif lvl better than you or omg 500+ thread views, are jsut pointless So you're the one deciding what is a good achievement to brag about and what isn't? Some people think getting level 60 in a skill is an awsome achievement, while some think getting a 99 isn't (*Cough* flecthing and cooking *Cough*). When everything's been said and done, more has been said than done. All skills 80+

My point is: you're saying it's alright to brag as long as it's a big achievement. But what is a good achievement? Where is the limit of when it's good to brag and when it isn't? That's different to everyone and that's why people post things you'd consider (almost) noobish. Most of the non-combat skills training is about loads of grinding (besides farming). And hardly anyone likes that, it's (almost) all about the sence of achievement people get high levels. Crusher777
Kids Thats the only word that can explain it. I would argue differently. It is natural human behavior to show of and be better than other people. It is our very nature that we should always want to be better or smarter or _______ than everyone else. Personally, I hate people like that. Runescape is all about having fun, and bragging and doing whatever it takes to get there just isn't in the nature of the game.
