Have YOU noticed anything unfair about Runescape?

Featured Replies

and yea...no string-x option for bows #-o

Fletching already is one of the easiest skills to level and with current high alch prices, that would make it by far the easiest 99 without any doubt.

i think the peopel who whine about updates are really unfair on JaGeX. but i think it is unfair that high levels dont get the much needed updates

If I'm not satisfied with the production bought from a store, I complain. Same goes here. Without any real feedback we'd still have a game based on sprite graphics, around 10k players and new quests like "sheep herder" coming out 2 times a year. To improve their updates they need feedback and it always isn't positive.

Absolutely nothing in RS is unfair. -.-

We all started out equal on Tutorial Island (other than rl money and hardware, but that's not in RS). If you chose to train your flatching, it's not Jagex's fault that they haven't made string-x, at least no more than it's a boat builder's fault if you're seasick.

Ok sorry to say this but this topic seems pointless. We all have diffrent veiws on whats fair and what is not.

So your goal for this topic is?

He want's to be loved... he finds it unfair that he's unloved... oh and he has an odd love for square shields....

pures have to occupy the fire giants at every world. They kill them so slow and slow down people who want good xp. Go kill goblins I say.

There's quite a few imbalances I can think of that need addressing...

* F2P should have skillcapes (I'm p2p btw)

* High lvl combat ability does not reflect the time invested to get there (i.e. someone with combat 120 has double the xp of someone with 113, yet they are only slightly more combat effective)

* The drops are too random. I killed 12k dust devils with no d chain, a friend killed 100 and got one.

* Too many rule breakers go unpunished.

* Jagex are too inflexible when exception need to be made (i.e. player name changes instead of a perm' ban)

Finally someone actually replied to the thread with some actual content.

I agree on all the points except for the drops one. 12k to 100 seems a bit out of whack... perhaps a minimum counter (say 1k of x- monster killed) before you are able to -then- roll the dice would be good...

I definitely agree with the f2p skill capes one. Even though they're f2p, they've earned the lvl and should be able to attain it. The lvl 99's within the f2p worlds are what HELPS the game, and throwing them a bone would breed a lot of goodwill IMO.

RSN: Greedom1 | QP 248+ | Combat 116 | Total 1920+ | Skills 95 craft, 99 farm, 88 herb, 91 mage, 85 slayer

Values? What do they mean?

THATS FUNNY HAVE U EVER HEARD OF THE OBBY SHIELD REPLACING THE DRAGON SQUARE SHIELD?

unfairness eh? i think that f2p guys should b able to get the skill capes for which the corresponding NPC's are in non member world. nobody better say that f2p needs more bank space, jagex entices you with more bank space for members, plus why should people paying for the game have the same amount of bank space. :notalk: other than that, people whining that there haven't been any good updates. if you don't like the updates, ignore them. anyway, i think that runescape is pretty much perfect, not counting the crappy graphics

You mean like when lower levels always have an advantage against higher levels in combat removing all point in even training combat stats?

Yeah, i have noticed some unfair things in runescape.

hey, pass the pot. O:)

The only thing I've ever felt unfair (and it had nothing to do with gameplay) Players from classic who received a "perm ban" only to appeal 3 or 4 years later and get their character back with a full bank and 20 party hats

yeah, i keep on thinking te same thing about the f2p skillcapes one. Im glad this topic is a good one. :D

TipitSiggy-1.jpg

Agreed on this.

* High lvl combat ability does not reflect the time invested to get there (i.e. someone with combat 120 has double the xp of someone with 113, yet they are only slightly more combat effective)

Combat is just a one thing in this game, not the whole game. The lvl 120 has put more efford on his combat skills than the 113, thus he earns the higher combat.

:ohnoes: * The drops are too random. I killed 12k dust devils with no d chain, a friend killed 100 and got one.

The current system is good. Currently every time the monster spawns, it can drop anything, no matter what the last drops from it were. Because of this, you might actually get 2 good drops in a short period of time. Also don't forget that as it's coded there, you got exactly same chances to get the chain as your friend.

* Too many rule breakers go unpunished.

I haven't seen too many of these. However I see thousands, some times tens of thousands accounts being banned every week.

* Jagex are too inflexible when exception need to be made (i.e. player name changes instead of a perm' ban)

This depends too much about the case. In some cases I'd allow little name chances, but in general not.

That's not really what I would call unfair. Not giving an inanimate the same rights as the other items :-s ? You can't really call anything in runescape unfair. (considering that this isn't a democracy and Jagex doesn't owe you squat  )

something unfair... i got hacked for 20mil, hacker didnt get banned. F2p worlds swarm with macroers and somebody is getting rich from them. One third of the ppl in fally park r scammers, they seem to be doing prety nice. While we get money from hard work, over time, they get 20mill from one hack or scam and they all seem to remain in the game   . So not being able to paint sq shields is the smallest of problems

I got 100 combat on classic at 5-15k xp an hour.

100-124 at the start of rs2 at 30-35k xp an hour.

85 theiving at 20-30k xp an hour on classic.

People can now get 100k combat xp an hour with PC and 150-200k theiving xp an hour with pyramid plunder.

Unfair? Yes. And they are just two examples, every skill has become so much easier.

Capone Sabre since April 2001.

99 Attack, Defence, Strength and Hitpoints Achieved January 2005. When it still meant something.

You're not on the RSOF now. You can call square shields "square shields" now, not just [].
