June 8, 200719 yr I think youre being too soft. This is highly illegal and wrecks the games for the rest of us. China has the fastest growing economy, since western companies we not allowed to pretty much do any business before but now are. This 21 year old is obviously educated to some degree, has computer skills etc. You cannot tell me that this gold farmer could not get another job, even in retail which is booming in asia considering all the new companies trying to get in and the massive population. But as they say they are happy with their wages from runescaping, but dont like the game - so this is a real gold farmer that should be banned - you should send there name and that conversation to jagex.

June 9, 200719 yr NOt all of china are like this, but the rural countries are very very poor the differences between the rich and the poor is extremely big. I should know this cause i'm from china, but luckily i'm from the better economic situation families... Proud member of the Crimson Raiders1000 total lvl achieved on 4-17-07 -F2P
June 9, 200719 yr erkid"]Erm, you'd better watch yourself... Rule 12, I believe (Asking for personal details) Ummm I don't think the sweatshop worker was feeling like this person was going to come after him so it's not really rule breaking. He said "what country are you from?" Then said "if you mind saying." I don't think that counts. I know they need the money but can't they all just go to wow? That is the most selfish thing i have heard, dont ruin our game, go ruin someone elses?
June 9, 200719 yr What kind of loser creates a business based on a video game? One day Jagex will find a way to make every company like that crumble by changing a little code. Too many people in the world as well, they need to have a baby limit law. :?
June 9, 200719 yr It's really sad what people have to resort to in other countries to make ens meat. It just makes me more grateful I was born in the place I am today. (U.S.A)

This guys needs a job to eat, and you have no right to question his choice of job. What does he care that a bunch of american geeks are unhappy about this? This is a game for you, but for him this is how he can survive. You obviously are disconnected from reality - wake up. 2480+ total
June 9, 200719 yr ARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRgg they are not FORCED to do anything. They ARE NOT physically forced to play the game, they CHOOSE to do a task and their recompense is money. IT IS A JOB. Godamn people are stupid. Stop quoting that they are only payed 7 US dollars or w/e a day that doesn't mean anything, their currency is they Yen(Yuan), not the [bleep]ing Dollar you cretins, its a weaker currency. Oh noes they work 8 horus a day doing a job they hate!? Are you mad, do Americans?Europeans only work 3 hours a day in the puppy dog, candy and toys factory? What Chinese people do suffer from is jack-booted arseholes telling them they must move from their villages to the towns (most of them dont even give a [cabbage] about farming and just want town jobs anyway though)and getting beaten with sticks for refusing. Also the government controlled media lie to them constantly and there is mass corruption (jee thats not too disimilar to....). What does not happen is that some evil men turn up and say you are going to work 150 hours a week in a literal sweatshop and get payed 2cents while being beaten and living in [cabbage] conditions. That does NOT happen. You are flattering these people who are using GUILE to make you feel sympathy for them. [bleep] them, they could get a job as a builder or w/e if they wanted to.

They are currently building about 100 cities and the biggets migration in the HISTORY OF MANKIND is underway(in China), step aside America theres a new daddy in town :P.

She can leave whenever though. I think the image that most people have is this: Its nothing like that though, its an everyday job. Its just your average office.

June 9, 200719 yr I have read about crowded "offices" with people playing all day and then sleeping in beds at the same office and getting fed. Then waking up and doing it all over again
June 9, 200719 yr I have read about crowded "offices" with people playing all day and then sleeping in beds at the same office and getting fed. Then waking up and doing it all over again  Thats common in China for many, many jobs mostly because there are 1.2 billion people living there and they dont have enough buildings. They don't sleep in the offices they sleep in dormatories in the office building/complex, they have as many aminities as you or me. Watch more documentaries people. Incidentally they don't play/work for 15 hours and sleep for 9, they usually work 9-5 like everyone else.
June 9, 200719 yr I don't understand your point, are you telling us that we should ignore autoers just because some people need to make an extra dollar a day? They play games for physical survival, they have no other money income since every other job is taken plus they aren't autoers, real people playing the game.
June 9, 200719 yr Yes, life for them is sad. they must play a game they don't like, killing dragons 12 hours a day, then giving rewards to boss. This guy studied english 2 years. he can make more of his life than being forced to work like this. However, that doesn't excuse him for breaking runescape rules. I know, he needs the money. but there are other ways. he deserves to be banned like everyone else, whether he needs the money or not. They're being paid to break our rules. whether they do it for survival or not, its still wrong. he's clicking pixels 12 hours a day. others are putting together shoes, working their hands till they practically fall off. all this guy risks are sore eyes and wrist cramps. yes, IN THE LONG RUN, he'll get worse problems with his eyes and body. but hes breaking our rules and doing easier work than a lot of people. there's nothing justifying that. its like being paid to murder, then in your defence you say all other jobs were taken and you had no choice. does that make anything right? and dont even go there with the "don't compare runescape to murder." June 9, 200719 yr Noone's listening to me and they only person who did comes at me with a critique on socialism, i actually am suggesting conventional communism, not that im being in any way serious, all governments are designed to subjugate their people, thats the price we pay for order, hospitals, schools, discos, etc.etc.etc. I don't really want to get into a debate but how is socialism more flawed than capitalism (just some quick bulletpoints would suffice)?

China is not like America or Canada, unemployment rate is huge there. It's very simple for you to sit on your comfy chair and say "they should get a different job" but you've never been in their shoes, you don't know what they can or can not do, you don't know what it is like in China. Anywhere you want to work in China, there are 10 others who compete with you for the lowest wage job. It's harder to get a job there than anywhere else, trust me. Anyways, keep on sitting on your chair and eat whenever you feel like, it's a privelege after all, not a right.

Why should i trust your arbritrary opinion based on (well you didnt say) over my own knowledge based on documented evidence? harder to get a job? unemployment figures? last i checked China was very coy with sharing these figures, could you point me to where your source is? btw bad way to wade into an argument " 'insert contrary opinion here', trust me im right.
