Life behind the gameplay...

What keeps you going? What is it about RS that keeps your rear glued to the seat? How did RS... get you? (Basically, say what you love about RS.)

I have quit RuneScape. I have posted on the Leaving sticky saying so. Goodbye.

I've never understood the whole "friends" argument. These aren't really friends, more like internet acquintences. I mean, most of you will never meet a single one of these "friends" in your life :| .

Goals I can understand though; the sense of accomplishment is a logical reason for playing :-k .

Fullmetal Alchemist, you will be missed. A great ending to a great series.

Actually, internet friends meet each other quite frequently, and not just at conventions.

Maybe in other areas of the internet, but through Runescape? Not exactly something that happens that much.

I like working for a goal, the idea that you can work your way up slowly actually appeals to me, i dont want to be the greatest, im happy working with a dream towards being good. An example would be mage, i just got 94 mage but now i kinda wish i was 85 again, it was fun getting it up and after acheiving something you think "oh, lets try to find something else". At least i have millions of xp in melee + range to go. 8-)

Getting a stat to 99 kept me glued for quite a while (which I managed to get) & so did pking, but right now the game doesn't interest me as much. :-$

Friends (which i need more off) and the wide range of stuff to do. Not like other MMORPG's when combat is the only thing that matters but here you can do so much more then just to fight.

I think the friendship bond is stronger than what many would think. I remember a guy who helped me out when I first started playing, and we eventually would team up in the game all the time.

And a few years later, we met back up in Guild Wars.

MMORPGS are also a great way to keep in touch with real life friends. I have some that I only get to see once a year, so this was a really great way to 'hang out' with them, even if it was on the internet.
