June 16, 200719 yr like what i did with the varrock update, it's another "mini-edition" of... ----------The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly For this one, i'm going to discuss the good, bad, and ugly stuff of the "shantay" teleport. For those who don't know what the teleport is, it's when you talk to shantay in al kharid and say that your a criminal. Refuse to pay him and he'll teleport you to port sarim jail: The Good: Pretty good way to get to port sarim, considering that there are no teleports that go directly there. also, it's pretty good if you want to get to cities such as rimmington and falador. What's better is that the port sarim jail is really close to the ships going to karamja, so if you want to train there, just get the stuff from al kharid bank and be on your way. The Bad: You can sometimes mess the "teleport" up by clicking the wrong things. Also, it's only really good for f2p unless your a p2p who doesn't have a glory ammy/fairy ring use to there. in order to do this, you must be in al kharid, making it a bit of a "limited useage" teleport. The Ugly: Though there are tons of people in runescape who know tons about it, not many people actually use it. even though it is the only teleport that can get you to port sarim, not many people seek it. It's a bit shocking to know that the only port sarim teleport isn't being used much today. Feel free to post comments about it, and look out for more of these posts.
June 16, 200719 yr eh its a good idea i dont think a lot of people would use unless they just happened to be in al karid and needed a way to fet to fally/rimmington/draynor fast
June 16, 200719 yr it's petty pointless.. I've only used it once to get my f2p archer from lumbridge to port sarim. It prolly would have been just about as long as walking to port sarim as running all the way to shanty's pass and going through all that dialog.
June 16, 200719 yr i used it for mining iron :) Are you sick and tired of people telling you what to put in your sig? So am I. No, don't put this in your sig, you'll be doing what THEY want!
June 16, 200719 yr i used it for mining iron :) +1  [Admin Edit: Referrals are not permitted on the Tip.it Forums]
June 17, 200719 yr I use it if I'm training combat at Ice Giants. Home Tele -> Walk to Al Kharid -> Stock up on food -> Jail Tele and walk down to caves. Saves having to take Tele runes. P.S. - I'm F2P WARNING: Prone to ramble ... but you probably already know that!1% F2P : 99% RL
June 17, 200719 yr I use when ever I'm in al-kirad and get the desire to go lobster fishing. Or at least I did when I was f2p, and back than, I normally got the urge to fish in the desert so it was actualy fairly convenient for me. Now I just go to camalot and walk tot he fishing guild though.
June 17, 200719 yr Wow. I never knew about this. I might start using it. ^Sir Jem 05-The Bunny Drinking Blog?^ Click it!
June 17, 200719 yr I use it when I need to.... Too bad you have to be in Al Kharid to use it. (I'm always smithing so I'm already there! Booyah!) Pretty much what Dragon said.Thread terminated.I guess that means I'm the thread Terminator? No Tip.Iters were harmed in the making of this post.
June 17, 200719 yr It's nice if you're in Al Kharid and want a quick trip to the Draynor cabbage patch. :o OoC Overseer Eet mor kabbig!
June 17, 200719 yr When I was still a freeloader (f2p), I used that Shantays Jail Express often. Back then it seemed perfect, but now, instead of just putting you inside a building, but free to go, you get placed in a locked cell which you have to pick in order to escape. It ain't that simple to open that. It's no surprise so few know about this method of travel. I had only seen maybe 5 or 6 people use it properly (as in not paying the fine to get out of the cell). The rest were like "wtf, i didnt know about this" and "how you get in there?" and "haha, jailbird!!!" But yea, it's pretty convenient for f2p, if you can overlook the picking of a lock to get out thing.
June 18, 200719 yr I use it if I'm training combat at Ice Giants. Home Tele -> Walk to Al Kharid -> Stock up on food -> Jail Tele and walk down to caves. Saves having to take Tele runes. P.S. - I'm F2P Exactly what I did when I was f2p, it's quite a long walk from Falador to that cave so I used it.
June 18, 200719 yr One of these days, I'll get round to timing it: 3 possible trips (to the Karamja boat), assuming that you've just LHP'd. 1. Up to the castle top bank, down, then west past Draynor & south into Port Sarim 2. West, use Draynor bank, then go rounf to the port 3. Through the Al-Kharid gate, South to the bank, then use the Shantay teleport, escape from the cell, and then a short hop to the departure point The added time for lockpicing probably turns it
June 18, 200719 yr well people dont use it because it takesa little time to talk with him and all but...i didnt quite get your point, what are you trying yo say? support new ghostly stuff here.I see RuneScape slowly turning into a sadistic version of WoW..signature your as this use backwards this read to enough smart were you If

For me though, I usually buy kebabs from Al Kharid (see the AOW guide for more on this) so it is definitely quicker to Jail Tele. If your target is Port Sarim to get to Karamja, then the benefit may not be there. WARNING: Prone to ramble ... but you probably already know that!1% F2P : 99% RL
June 18, 200719 yr I'd rather use Fally teleport and run down. If i'm in alkharid i'll use it for the time being. Quit RuneScape :)
