Vegetarianism? O_O

Futurama

Recommended Posts

Long story short, I think I am turning vegetarian.

The reason for this, I don't know exactely. It's not one of those "eating meat is wrong PETA POWER!!!11" kind of things, but i've been put off meat a lot recently to the point that when people have cooked for me i've asked them to leave it out. This saturday I sat down in a restraunt on the evening and ordered an ̢̮â¬Å¡Ãâã11 steak, took a few bites and just couldn't eat it. I wasn't full up, I don't know why, I just didn't want to eat it because it was meat. I'd much rather have had the pasta stuff they do there or the enchiladas with no meat in.

I've been off eating a lot of things for years like eggs, organs of animals etc, part down to taste, part down to the fact that it is what it is.

Is anyone here vegetarian and got any stories to share, the suchlike about why you are? I know asking for life advice on a forum is a bit odd, but this isn't something I thought i'd ever go through, I always used to go crazy for bacon sandwiches and steak!

I've also cut back on my meat consumption, especially pork and beef. Chicken, and fish I'll eat quite often though. when I eat pork or beef it leaves me feeling sick for no reason (like I'm overly full). Ah well... no harm done, chicken and fish is better for you anyway :].

A couple of my best friends are vegetarians and they say its given them so much more energy and they are less tired during the end of the day and feel much better, and healthier overall.

I saw a book in the library vegitarianism(sp?) for dumbies you might wanna get.

I dont hate all vegitarians, just the ones who preach about it or say something like "i haven't eaten meat in 7 months" i mean i havent eaten a carrot in like 2 years but i dont go around bragging about it. and for the people who don't eat meat cause god created animals, if he didnt want us to eat them, they wouldnt be made of meat.

Look its rob!

Same thing happens to me, it's just appetite swing, one day I love meat and like to eat steak, but another day I want to have something other than meat. It's totally natural, and nothing bad is happening.

Steak's still my favourite meal, but I can't eat it now as guilt free as I used to be able to, I won't go into the reasons, but i'm eating less meat than I used to. I don't know why, I still love meat, I just know that it's better to eat smaller quantities of better quality stuff than loads of processed or hormone injected stuff.

It's kinda hard though, since I go to the gym a lot and lift weights I know I need to get enough protein to keep up with it, but i'm leaning more towards fish and chicken and soya beans than red meat all the time.

I enjoy meat. Whether its covered in delicious steak sauce, Wocestershire sauce, chinese sauses, etc, I just love it. Guess I'm being a bit biased, but I don't see whats there to freak about eating animals. Even from a Christian view, the Bible shows numerous things about fish being eaten whether by Jesus or people who served jesus or listened to him. Obviously, religion is out of the question unless there's a religion i dont know much about thats against animal killing. well, maybe its just impulses telling you its wrong, or jsut moral feelings? guess vegetarianism depends on the person more than on morality.

tip it would pay me $500.00 to keep my clothes ON :(
But then again, you fail to realize that 101% of the people in this universe hate you. Yes, humankind's hatred against you goes beyond mathematical possibilities.
That tears it. I'm starting an animal rebellion using my mind powers. Those PETA bastards will never see it coming until the porcupines are half way up their asses.

Apparently a lot of people say it. I own.

I suppose i'm not going to really be a proclaimed vegetarian because that way I can't be cheeky and eat a KFC when i'm feeling particulary devious. Just. Bleh. *shrugs* There's not much to understand really Bubsa, hahah. I was just wondering if anyone had any similar experience and had advice to give!

FTR: I'm not against people eating meat and not gonna be one of those touchy people, just a personal choice cause i've gone off eating meat lately. Couldve happened with anything really.

Woo vegetarianism :D I don't feel as strongly tied to a lot of the ethical reasons that I used to believe in (but I still do to some extent not like killing a being that may have had some level of consciousness), but nowadays I just find the idea of eating meat completely unappealing and unappetizing on a gut level. So if I wanted to stop being vegetarian, I doubt I could go back now :P

Vegetarian food is just so good :D I'm really into legumes (black bean soup and peanut butter sandwiches, mm) and seitan for protein. :D

Everybody hug and spread the love :D

HOW can you live without meat? You can't, living off vegetables means only one thing, a nasty nasty death because humans were meant to eat meat. Vegetarians are not happy people instead are deeply insecure and troubled, please I advice you to seek out a psychiatrist your genes are faulty.

Umm o.O

Okay, first you argue that those people whose gender identity is different from their biological sex are mentally disturbed, and now vegetarians are mentally disturbed? I think you should take a psychology class or something. Or probably more importantly for you, a crash course in social justice.

I hate animals. I don't just enjoy eating meat because it tastes so bloody good, but also the fact that an animal has died for me to eat. I'm a ba***rd.

I find it ironic how some people protest and bad mouth peta (rightfully, I agree) and yet some of those same people throw out indirect insults and brag about how they love to eat meat so much. And Striker6 people all over the world live healthy, long lives without touching meat... And judging by several posts I've seen you've made throughout this forum, which are blatant and disrespectful in their content (like laughing at someones problem), you probably don't have the intelligence to realize so.

My sister's a vegetarian, and I have no problem with it, the only thing I'm worried about is that she isn't getting enough nutrients and stuff because she doesn't eat things like beans.

I'm fine with vegetarians as long as they don't go around telling everybody and protesting against how its terrible to kill and eat animals. When my sister says something like "It's mean to kill the animals!" I just tell her that if people didn't eat things like Cows and Chickens then nobody would bother to breed them and they would most likely become extinct.

Maybe not entirely true, hahah, but I can see where your point is.

A lot of vegetarians do seem annoying, especially on myspace. "Animals are my friends, and I don't eat my friends!" Uuhh. Shut ittt, hahah. Either way this wouldnt be a huge lifestyle change for me, just different food really.

Anywho, welcome to the club Futurama. I've been meat free for 152 days (or since January 22nd). It's not hard at all.

I'm fine with vegetarians as long as they don't go: "Eating meat is wrong!" or "Woo-hoo I didn't eat meat for 6 months now!" or "Animals have rights too!" or "Humans aren't supposed to eat animals" Other than that it's fine.

I'm something in between, i don't eat meat much, once/twice in a week. I respect vegetarians though, good luck if you're deciding to do it.

Some people dream of success, while others make it happen.

You're joking, right? Vegetarians don't always suffer nasty, nasty deaths nor are humans meant to purely eat meat. We are omnivores. I'm sure there are some very happy vegetarians out there too.

Yeah.. must be a joke.

Edit: Here's a little food for thought.
