Viv
do you work for many hours a day to achieve a precious skillcape why do we play so hard for a cape in a game? do you dread missing a whole day of runescape cause other people are passing you up? do you sometimes miss your online friends? sometimes i feel this game is takeing over my life and that rs has become a new place of safety and even if i come home dead tired i need to log in rs just too "see whos on" the computer is like a secret life i act sorta normal around most people and dont talk about the computer offline cept say that its a hobby of mine but is rs always just a game? or can it be more than a game an escape when real life isnt working well at all...... discuss
Italian5kamikaze
I play when im bored and have nothing else to do, if you feel its taking over your life take a break thats all i have to say do whatever you can to force yourself to stop playing. If real life isnt working well runescape isnt going to make it any better. Quit. PM me if you play The Conduit to exchange friend codes.
DegenerateX
When I skipped going out on a date to play RS when construction came out is when I knew that I was addicted. Generaly anyone that has an "urge" to play or to meet up with online friends because you have no offline friends is what I consider addiction. Stilev
runescape being a center point of my life comes and goes really, as the saying goes "you can only have so much of a good thing" i just enjoy runescape alot though, but like you i see no reason in dicussing it with my friends, when school was still in sesion i would often wonder who was online right now, and how much more i could get done if i didn't have to be here, never let it interfer with my school, job, etc life though, its about having balence i guess just a quick shout out to all the people that say "its just a game" its not, time = money, runescape = time, need i say more? DegenerateX
I agree with the person above, I don't no-life as to what some people coin it, but spending 4 hours a day on rs now that it's summer-time is what I think makes me think of myself as addicted. It's sorta like counter balancing itself. If I play too much I get bored and start to dislike runescape. If I play too little I think to myself what I could have achieved if I spent just that little bit more time on rs. For example, today I died at Ape Atoll with my Ranger Set, 2.5k Chins, and 24 Prayer Pots (4) on me. My prayer ran out while I was training on skellies without me noticing and I got 1-hit by 21 skellies at once. To my disbelief my Black D hide and Glory protected over my Ranger Set. So now I'm in a state of hating rs, but I'll probably get over it and start playing again tomorow because I'm playing "too little." Kinda depressing to know that from scamming and dieing I've lost a grand total of 38 mil =( Looking for someone to teach me how to Armadyl farm - pm me10,200th Person to Achieve 99 Magic on 1/10/
Star_Fox
i do treat it like a game. this game has stats you can compete with other plays, goals you can set, it just takes my time and i do enjoy playing it. :P
Kilo
Much better than playing other pitiful games where you work alot to achieve something and then its all wiped clean when you hit that red X in the right hand corner of the screen. More than a game? Well to a degree it is because your playing with or against other people who actually exist other than a computer. I would find that if any of my friends had an accident or died etc. I would probably mourn the loss, because they were a real person. To a degree its more than a game Always forgive your enemies; nothing annoys them so much.Oscar Wilde
DegenerateX
So we can conclue that any game that pits us against other people will psychologicaly want us to be better than them, therefore making us invest more time into the game. Therefore MMORPG -> No-lyfing -> Failure At Life -> __________ Looking for someone to teach me how to Armadyl farm - pm me10,200th Person to Achieve 99 Magic on 1/10/
Macmaster92
Well everyone wants a skill cape to impress people. Unfortunatly we live in a society where we are barbarded with new things and new goals, and if we don't achieve those goals or get those items we fail at everything and we suck. Celt23
Saying runecape is just a game is like saying baseball is just a game. In reality it's just pixels/swatting a ball around, but that won't make sence to savvy players.
HatshepsutLecter
I mostly play only when I am bored and I don't have anything else to do. I used to be majorly obsessed with the game but now I can go a week or two without playing and I don't care all that much. Only times I say I have to get on is if I really want to have a chat with one or two of the people in the game that are my really good friends but I don't know in any other way but through the game. Lol =D> When i think of people playing RS for all day and night, i think of the game Halo 2. If you see some people, they might have be playing for hours on end. Halo 2 "lvls" = RS lvls. If you look closer you see people treating RS and Halo 2 as their life! Don't believe me? Go on google and search both and you see endless sites by people that play one of the games nonstop. 99 Pics - Range, Defence, HP, Attack, Magic, Strength, Cooking

Striker6
I play a number of games, Runescape is at the bottom of the list. I play when I have nothing better to do, putting friends off for Runescape is an awful thing to do, never do it.
